I work in an all male office, so crapping get announced loud and proud

I had to buy a new shirt because my old one made me look like a kid in his Dad's suit. Turned out after being measured at a proper tailors I am now an 'Extra Slim Fit'!

Sorry I have to totally disagree with Iwishyouwell, BMI as a number for an individual is totally, completely and utterly useless. It is an extremely antiquated formula (originally known as the Quetelet Index) and simply doesn't give an accurate representation of health unless you happen to be a sedentary person of average…

This has wandered drastically off topic. I don't see why people are using the strawman arguments of "BMI is flawed", "powerlifters are 300lbs", "sumo wrestlers are huge". Did you read the article to OP posted? These people aren't powerlifters, they aren't sumo wrestlers. The problem is these people are dangerously…

Not really. Being obese is a choice and is a medical issue that falls in the same category as drug abuse, smokers and alcoholics. At some point, a choice made someone obese, be it being overfed as a child, or eating too much, or not exercising enough, or not listening to doctors orders. It is also harmful to your health…

For someone who is around 6" your target probably doesn't need to be anywhere near 160lbs, much more like ~200 - 190lbs. I started at 240, and now am down to 215lbs and I am getting close to the point where I want to start bulking back up again!

LOVE THIS POST. Perfect example of what the OP was talking about, and quite important in self esteem. People look at themselves in a grubby mirror, in old pants, when it's dark outside and the curtains are drawn and there's only one dull bulb in the room, their hair in a mess as they have just got out of bed, without…

Not seen a pic on this thread that doesn't look awesome. Seriously loving the hard work you ladies put in! I just sit and read all three threads (probably should have been working) and everyone from the 20 something's to the 60 something's look effing gorgeous. Now how to subtly point my wife to this thread... :D

Seriously amazing transformation in 9 months, you must be so proud! Really should get my *kitten* in gear...
-
I'm a fitbit user and as long as you keep looking at it, it's a great motivator! I always love getting emails when I hit targets and it makes me think to keep moving, cause I sit at a desk all day it's quite important!
-
Awesome work, not only do you look SO much fitter and healthier, but you look a lot happier too! Seeing transformations like this makes me believe I can get to my goal as well.

AHve to agree with the water thing, I work at a desk for 8 hours a day, and I go for a 2 1/2 mile walk at lunch but other than I am chained to my computer (I am a programmer). Without wishing to give too much away, I have been to the loo 4 times today! I find I don't normally need to snack, but having a healthy snack to…

I started getting a few comments around the 15lb mark, but I started to notice pretty quickly... t-shirts fit better (now are too big), belts ran out of holes to plug into... it feels good! I'm not gonna bother buying new clothes until I at least hit the 200lbs mark, which is another 20lbs from today, but I think it will…

What can I say... awesome work on the weight loss, awesome tasche. I think next time I hear someone whining about how 'it's too hard' to loose weight or 'it's too hard to exercise' or talking about using easy ways out, I'm gonna point them to this thread. TIme, age, money... doesn't matter, and you proved it, well done!

At least he is ambitious...

I've only glanced through this thread, but I think I might have the record for the most common name... 3,713,937 have my first name 170,770 have my last name 2,023 with my name  Looks like I'm pretty common in the US. EDIT: Just had a further look, and I'm not the highest, but I still think that's a lot.

Due to a certain Forsters advert, most of us Brits know that one too now! :D In answer to someone elses question, jeans fall under the category of trousers, and pants are usually boxers or y-fronts for blokes and knickers, thongs (which is a name other nations give to flip flops, very confusing) or briefs for women (or one…

I assumed the first reply would be "Never gonna let you down". That will be stuck in my head for days now... For me, it's sausage sandwiches, with white bread, and some sort of sauce (Ketchup, HP, Mayonnaise, Salad Cream... I love them all!). Only one every couple of months, but I can't live without them. EDIT: Chicken…

I have to echo the majority of sentiments here, I weight every day, first thing in the morning before breakfast, same time, in my birthday suit, but I only record it on here once a week. Weighing every day has let me know that I put on weight Monday Tuesday Wednesday, but loose it through the second half of the week so…

The value it gives you to eat while loosing weight is a deficit, it's how you loose weight. You eat 500 cals less than your body needs to survive, so your body takes it from you fat stores. Once you want to maintain, you need to eat more so you body can survive off of what you are putting in it.

Nice work! My wife works ten hours a day at a nursery, so only having to do 20 minutes for a workout is really handy. I am doing it because it works out pretty much everything in a short space of time, and I can concentrate on the muscles I want to improve more with lifting. I never realised how weak my legs were until I…

30 Day Shred is an exercise DVD by Jillian Michaels, and consists of 3 different 20 minute workouts that increase in difficulty. The idea is to done a day, the first level for 10 days, second for 10 days and then the third for 10 days, but if you feel the first is too easy then move up to the second earlier e.t.c. Some…

I know I'm a guy, but I had this really sharp pain in the side of my ribcage, it was so bad I couldn't even dress myself for two days, and this was way before I started doing any exercising. The doctors told me it was either a pinched nerve of pulled muscle, and it went away on it's after a week

People saying a six year old doesn't know what they are doing are talking rubbish. If she's old enough to pull a bookcase onto a teacher, she's old enough to take responsibility for it, end of. Glad they cuffed her and took her away, unfortunately all it's gonna do is make the parent sue someone for a bit of cash.

I'm trying to do that at the moment too, as far as I can work out the best exercises are pushups and dumbbell flys. This guys site is really good, with some great video explanations: http://scoobysworkshop.com/chest-exercises/

Here is the best way to think about it in my opinion, and this applies to taking drugs for ANY reason at all. Drugs don't cure anything at all, ever. They simply suppress the issue. Diet tables will suppress appetite, Ritalin will suppress an over-active child, Flu tablets suppress the symptoms of flu, aspirin will…

I get up at 6, eat straight away and then start working out about 6:30 - 6:45, and I do about an hour, but I only live 15 minutes away from work and I don't have kids (yet, my wife keeps threatening me with them   ). I get to bed about 10pm, asleep by half past most evenings. At the weekend, I get up at 8 so I…

Nice to see a guys result, I was starting to think it was a ladies only thing! I ordered it yesterday along with a HRM so I will be giving it a go by the end of the week. Did you do any other training whilst doing this? I currently do weights /strength 3x a week and a lunch time walk / jog on top of a morning cardio…

I ordered this yesterday, this has been around for over 3 months so I don't expect it to go away any time soon. The thread below was started back in December last year for the same device, go good feedback too:…

My local shop has recently started stocking 10 different fresh soups, and I have become slightly addicted... nice to see I'm not the only one! Wild mushroom, or leek and potato are my favourites. I use snack a jacks rice cakes to dip in mine, works surprisingly well!
