Maybe have them adjusted so they sit a little tighter on your face?

*kicks rocks* I thought I was gonna be the first Manitoba rep.

Yeah, but having been in that boat of being severely overweight and absolutely terrified to go into a gym, rationality tends to take a backseat. Again, in reality, it's crap. And they certainly shouldn't be promoting that as a routine for people to follow, because it's not realistic for anything other than getting people…

Also if you have a clean driving record, be sure to bring that up. :-)

I can't believe I'm actually going to defend this (maybe because I haven't had any coffee and I'm feeling totally weak), but for someone that is totally sedentary and has never gone to the gym, it might be a gentle way to show that anything is better than nothing? In reality, it's crap.

Find something you enjoy doing. Whether it be weight training, walking, running, class activities, whatever. If you can make it fun/enjoyable, you'll be more apt to go. The more you go, the more results you'll see, and so on and so forth :-)

I retain water like it's my full time job. It goes away quick enough. Just don't weigh yourself constantly :-)

I'm just not a fan of comments about my eating. I eat now to fuel my lifting and for slow fat loss - so my days are generally high. That said, if someone wants to take a gander, I have no problem unlocking it.

This.

1190 today :-)

I wouldn't suggest using Shakeology or Beachbody or any of that stuff - it's overpriced protein powder and supplements. Eat good food at a reasonable deficit, exercise, and you'll be much better off mentally and physically especially for the long run - those programs aren't sustainable for the long term. It might take a…

I love me some squats & deads.

I don't mind at all! I eat 2150 a day. My TDEE is 2560ish. I lift pretty intensely, so for me, that's accurate.
-
Female 5'0" 178.1 lbs TDEE (cut between 15-20%) 2150 BF 26.7 Train 3 x week, and I gave up deliberate cardio. I hike when it's nice out because I enjoy it.

Make sure you're eating enough on a daily basis, and that you eat back exercise calories. If it helps, moderate some of whatever snack it is you crave into your daily allowance. It goes a long way with mentality.

"Cleanses" are hooey, and fat is not toxic. As for using a "system", it's not necessary. Make healthy choices, eat at a reasonable deficit, and exercise.

A sunny, quiet hike :-)

Absolutely. I used to have a lot of issues with emotional eating/bingeing/sneaking food. One of the things that really helped was talking to a counselor to help sort out the "why" behind it all. Once I had started to deal with that, the rest seemed less daunting. I also have issues with anxiety and panic - it landed me in…

I've tried it, and it's honestly not for me. I do much better (mentally) on taking a cut from my TDEE. I think long-term sustainability and developing healthy habits are better in the long run.
-
Advil, red meat, pound water and tough through it. You'll feel better when you do :-)
-
I get super pissed when I've carefully weighed out my snack for me, and then the boyfriend grabs a handful. STAHP!!!!!!!!
-
Unfortunately, you don't get to choose when your body drops inches from. It just does. Just know and trust that you are on a healthier path, and that with consistency and patience, you will get there :-)

You kind of have to find what works for you. I didn't bank, save or carry-over calories. I'd earn it via exercise, since when you move more, you eat more. If I knew I was going out for dinner, or wanted pizza, I'd hit the gym and earn it beforehand. Also, changing your relationship with food and learning that every now and…

I can honestly promise you that nobody is going to stare at you and think "look at her she's totally doing it wrong". If you aren't sure, go ask - they told you to ask for help, and you need to take the step to do it. Sure it can be hard, but worrying about it constantly is more taxing. Just go up to the owners, and tell…

Get on it, and get over it. You can't actually work towards making things better until you deal with the actuality of how it is. I can empathize, I've been there. Take a big breath, get on it, and make a plan to move forward.
-
You're far better off in the long term making healthy choices, eating at a deficit, and exercising. And for individual who knows someone who dropped 20 pounds by cutting carbs and eating 1000 calories a day - NOPE. Not healthy or viable at all. Don't ever do that please!
-
God no. Some of my best workouts are powered by jellybeans.
-
There's not really a need to cut out anything you enjoy. Just be reasonable about portions, and learn how to work them into your day.
-
Lately, Fruit Loops cereal. The carbs plus sugar give me the boost for post-workday lifting.

I'm going to name 3, because they've been equally important. 1) Making room for the things I love to have, such as beer, pizza and chocolate almonds 2) If I'm going to eat those things, "earn it" in advance (get the gym out of the way first), and 3) learn how to forgive yourself, get over yourself, and move on.
