  • I went to bonnaroo last summer and idk how reading festival is set up (is it overnight camping?), but between the camping and all the walking around to each show as well as all the dancing at the shows, i didnt have any trouble keep the weight off. we ate kashi bars for breakfast every morning and took bags of nuts in with…
  • high carb processed foods and sugar cause insulin spikes in the blood and a subsequent crash, which leads to cravings for more.
  • holy smokes i thought you meant 2200 cals burned in exercise, not tdee. sorry about that. as a few have suggested, i would definitely try to still eat an extra 100-200 calories a day, mostly protein, and continue to heavy lift.
  • if in fact you are burning that many calories every day, you need to up your calorie intake a lot.
  • that is a lot of exercise for anyone, let alone a 13 year old. i would focus much more on dieting and eating right along with maybe 20 minutes of cardio 3 times a week. you may burn yourself out with this exercise plan.
  • if you are over sugar because of fruit and dairy, i wouldnt worry too much unless you are diabetic. staying away from the processed sugars in candy and the like are what is most important. i routinely am 20 to 30 grams over what mfp tells me, and i have been losing weight just fine!

  • i just took a vacation for a week and didnt give a **** about what i ate. fast food everyday. i ended up losing a pound. i was active, but not incredibly active. sometimes a splurge day is what your body needs.
  • it will be incredibly hard to hold up for 21 days, and you will more than likely gain most of the weight back. might as well feed and fuel your body the right way and lose weight steadily.
  • loads of grilled and baked chicken is what you need to invest in for some low cost, valuable food. marinate it a little, or just bake it then throw on some sauce and spices and youre good to go
  • first and foremost, i suggest changing your MFP macro's to at least 50% carb, 30% fat, 20% protein before getting started. mfp highly inflates the amount of carbs. then with those set, eat as many carbs as you want while staying under the limit, and stick with veggies, fruits, and whole grains for your carb sources. this…
  • exercise and/or aim to lose weight more slowly. if you set your goal to lose .5 pounds per week you will be able to eat a little more per day, it will just take longer to meet your goal.
  • up your calories by 150 or 200 calories per day for a week or two and see what happens. there are many people that got out of a plateau by doing this. if you are very active, but only put lightly active in mfp, you may not be fueling your body enough. you can also check out eat more to weigh less group and try that.…
  • 30 lbs in 2.5 weeks isnt even humanly possible. that is more than 1.5 lbs per day. did you see that scale before he started dieting and now or are you going by his word? I dont care how much water weight he had, 1.5 lbs lost per day is drastically unhealthy. dont mean to be harsh or anything, but i feel as though there is…

  • there are a number of good body weight exercises you can do. just do a quick google search and you will find a bunch of them
  • i pretty much see extra food in terms of exercise now after starting mfp. i may be craving some cake... but i sure as **** aint craving the 20 minutes of cardio im gonna need to burn it off. helps me a lot to stay away from the bad stuff.
  • 5000IU of viatmin D a day and a cold wash cloth over your face in the morning and before you go to bed. it has worked wonders for me without drying my face out.

  • maybe you could try eating more fill food throughout that day, with a lot of protein and fiber? or maybe try going to bed earlier and maybe some melatonin. i have never once woken up in the middle of the night purely because of hunger. it seems as though you might be in the late night snack habit and just need to break it.
  • drink a glass of water
  • i personally am at the point where i feel i dont have to track everything and anything that goes into my mouth. i understand healthy eating and moderate portions so when the weekend comes i kick back and continue to eat healthy and get some good exercise in, but i really dont log it because im relaxing doing something else
  • nothing wrong with a little cheat here and there throughout the week to keep you sane! but you have to be careful with how you cheat. yes, you can eat fast food and stay within calories and macros and you will lose weight. but its not healthy, clean eating and losing. there arent nearly as many nutrients in the fast food…
  • its all about eating more of the healthy stuff. i feel when people hear "eat more to weigh less" they think "oh mcdonalds!" no. its eating more of the healthy food, while also working your *kitten* off in the gym to balance it out. there is a strong consensus that weight lifting and eat more to weigh less go hand in hand.
  • from my experience, the food stats in mfp are really only good for cals, total fat, carbs, and protein. everything i feel as though when people enter it, they dont bother with. why? probably because the macros i listed are really the most important. as an example though, one serving of almonds has 14g of fat. i believe…

  • use it to look somewhat productive. dont close it down. i have dual monitors, this site on one and my work on the other. if anybody asks what im doing, its hard to get upset at someone who is trying to improve their life and lose weight. plus its dead right no so not a big deal.
  • I will agree with you that there can be different dynamics, especially when getting to the "final 10" if you only have 35 to lose. all in all, we can both agree that you have to look beyond just the written words of someone before you can take their advice confidently!
  • its ridiculous! then they say "i mean, i knowwww that it was water/poop/urine/air weight that i lost, and i only have my profile set to lose half a pound a week, and i know this is a marathon not a sprint. blah blah blah"
  • this irks me to no end. people who lost 3 pounds the first week, 2 pounds the second, and 2 pound the third, yet youre upset you only lost one pound the 4th week... how can you be upset at an average of 2 lbs lost a week? i dont get it.
  • what if said person has already lost a substantial amount of weight? like if someone needs to go from 400lbs to 250lbs, and are only a third of the way through their journey, you wont listen? clearly they are doing something right but because they have lost that weight. I agree with you, though, to the effect that the fat…
  • i have a non digital scale, so it is impossible for me to even really see a one pound loss. so i make sure that i am under a certain weight for at least two weeks before thinking i have lost that weight.
