  • Three responders ask you what exercises you are doing. Two of them give helpful advice, one has not read your post properly, or is not convinced that your form is proper, which is indeed a tiny bit of a dick move. You have chosen to a) not respond to the two helpful inquiries, b) not respond to the OTHER two helpful…
  • I don't go sugar-free, but I do try to eat w/ less sugar. In order to kick-start this I just adjust my diet for 7-10 days to not eat anything that tastes terribly sweet. It's very, very subjective, but it helps me personally. So no dessert items, no honey or sugar in tea, no sweetened beverages, etc. I'll have a peach or…
  • Hey there, If I were your friend, I'd encourage you to not just see a physical doctor, but maybe talk to a therapist about this. You want to be well in mind and spirit as well as in body, I'd wager! If this is something that you're thinking about, dreaming about, and are casually calling "my insanity," then having a short…
  • Do you drink caffeine?
  • Go for a tutorial somewhere near you! There are make-up artists who can help do this with you ;)
  • So 7 years ago last weekend I met this guy at a party, where we were introduced by a mutual friend. I invited him over to a second party the day later at my house. I was 24 at the time. That next day, which was a Saturday, he came to the party (which was huge, about 200 people). We stayed up all night and talked, and…
  • I don't believe in following regimented "diets" to lose weight. I've lost 125 lbs. I believe in changing life habits, restricting daily calories, eating the kinds of foods that make me feel full and sated w/o going over my calorie goal (which usually means more fiber, fat and protein, and less carbs and sugar, but I just…
  • Whoa...I practically live off everything people here find so disgusting! 0.0 I didn't realize what an ecclectic, not-picky eater I am! I <3 sweet potatoes in ALL forms (pie, fries, wedges, just plain roasted) I LOVE kale and cook it in about 8 different ways. I make a badass blended cauliflower/carrot/potato/fennel soup…
  • General rule: raw. You're often only adding or losing H20, which has no calories. Bacon & sausage are tougher, because you're losing so much grease, of course. With pasta & rice you almost have to do it raw to get it accurate. But make sure it matches to whatever you're entering.
  • Hello! Congratulations for starting your journey :) What are you doing so far to make it work for you?
  • Back when I was 290 lbs I just made all my own clothes. First because I was a teenager and the clothes I could find (at walmart, etc) that were in my size were most definitely not my style. Second, because the somewhat nice clothing my size was priced through the roof, and I was living in poverty as the kid of a single…
  • I don't! I run too intensely - not necessarily FAST but up hills, on trails, paying attention to traffic. I want ZERO thought to be going into whether i am getting a call/text/email, to whether it will fall out or break, or the annoyance of it giggling around heavily on my arm or waist. I bring an i-pod nano for music…
  • just wait until you do it SURROUNDED BY crocodiles in the middle of a marsh while solving physics problems dictated to you in an ancient slavic language no longer spoken. THEN you'll REALLY be awesome. or nah... You're awesome af! congrats!!!
  • Wait...what days were those? Sexuality has always been a hot topic for debate, and who was or wasn't sleeping with whom has been a less-than-private issue for...well...most of human history. Odd sense of history you've got there.

  • <3 Go easy on yourself, mama! You are not the value of your body fat. You are clearly not unhealthy in any serious way. You are young, and you will do just fine. Give yourself a month or so, and do what is right for your mind, body, and baby. What a cutie!
  • Are you kidding me? A MILLION THINGS! I lost 125 lbs. 1. No more sore knees or back 2. Breathing easily and freely 3. No more crazy mood swings 4. Self-esteem, self-image improved 5. Better sex
  • I eat 1750-1900 calories a day, depending on how much I exercise. I've lost 125 lbs. When you eat veggies - do you just steam them? I sautee my green beans and sprinkle them in tarragon and salt and garlic. I puree cauliflower, carrots, fennel, and potato into an INCREDIBLE delicious soup. I steam my broccoli and sprinkle…
  • I use a dab of honey ;) @pinggolfer96 just a few pinches to taste! no need to measure...it has like 1 calorie per 1/4 cup.
  • Can you let us know what you are labeling as "healthy" food? I eat delicious food daily, and lose weight. Weight loss is about counting calories, not about eating celery and fat-free cottage cheese. ( i mean, unless that's your thing )
  • 1. Not wondering if people questioned if I got to my position in life (PhD student at top university w/ excellent fellowships, etc) because I am a conventionally attractive woman. I pulled a hard-core ugly-duckling and swanned the crap out of myself. (Yes...I just made "swan" into a verb. What of it?) 2. Not having male…
  • You can add me as a friend :) I've lost 125 lbs...so I have the scarring (stretch marks from weight loss) but without the kids! lol I'm on here losing a little more for my wedding in August, and just for staying fit in general. I like commenting and having folks commenting on my posts. :)
  • 1 cup ff greek yogurt + squeeze of lemon juice OR dash of red wine vinegar + 1 tsp crushed garlic + dried dill (optional) + 1/4 cup grated cucumber (grate it then squeeze excess juices out with your hands). Mix. Add salt and pepper to taste. Or, you could google it.
  • Because you're not logging correctly and/or moving less...some days you ate far above 1600 anyway! Girl, come on now! You know what's up! I've lost 125 lbs in total, and fluctuated up and down in the last 30 lbs in the last 6 years. I know when I'm lying to myself. Unless...you're pregnant?
  • Hey girl, Just peeping your diary from the last two weeks I could see your problem was pretty clear. Almost every single day you are eating out at restaurants/fast-food joints, and assuming that the "serving size calories" they post for what you order and eat (side of fries, waffle, etc) is what you are actually consuming.…
  • There's sure no science behind it...but every single time I plateau, I do exactly this, and I drop weight *shrug* I'm not really concerned anymore what science says. 125 lbs lost, and breaking through about 15 plateaus tells me I know my own body just fine. I stop losing? I just eat maintenance for 1-2 weeks, and once I…
  • 4 oz ground venison or bison/buffalo (flavored w/ salt, onion, garlic) 1/2 of a hamburger bun on the bottom + 1 roasted portobello mushroom cap on top 1/2 ounce of sharp cheddar cheese Lettuce, tomato, ketchup, mustard YUM!
  • You bet! I had burgers on Tuesday. I'm having pizza tonight. I have sweet potato fries maybe once a month...i just don't like fries that much. I eat chocolate daily, multiple times a day. I don't really like cake? But I have had it, if it's a nice rich fudgey cake. I also eat heaps of broccoli, green beans, lean fishes and…
  • @jgnatca has done a really cool thing here, pointing out the words you describe your relationship to food and exercise with. Would you ever talk about someone else's relationship to food that way? Change your language, don't let yourself spiral, and find someone to TALK about these feelings with. Once you hear them come…
