I would suggest that you follow your doctor's advice. I'm also on medications that have increased my weight, even though I eat reasonable portion sizes of healthy foods (not a lot of junk), and it seems to be a losing battle even including exercise. The calculations used in this website are for the average person, not…

If you are concerned, just eat at 1200 cal/day. Your weight loss will slow down, but keep up with your exercise and you will remain healthy.

You might be low on your sodium and/or magnesium. Try sipping on some chicken broth or Gatorade, then see how you feel. If that doesn't do it, maybe magnesium supplements are worth a try.

I forgot to mention that I've also been put on a very low dose of Folic Acid (which should help with my depressive attitude :) ). Only 1 mg, but a body can never have enough of those B vitamins! I hope you get really great results, this time around.

Hi! I've been Hypothyroid for 6 years now. I have had the same hairloss problem as you - going from a ponytail the size of a horse tail, to one the size of my ring finger. Quite concerning when you are removing a fistful of hair every morning! I just recently had a heart-to-heart with my Endo (who is considered the best in…

My goal is 175, which is at the high end of the spectrum, but I was once happy there. I carry weight very evenly, and have been told many times that I look much lighter than I am :) I'm slowly working down from my all-time highest weight, brought on by medications. I agree with the ongoing/ re-evaluations of your progress.…

Knitting and crocheting are making a big-time come-back. How about some yarn and needles? Lots of patterns on the internet.

Went swimming a few years back and for some reason, all the old guys were staring at me. Had hubby do a quick look over, and he told me that the back of my suit had worn sheer, so I was flashing my booty to everyone!

Tetrazzini is turkey in a white sauce with noodles, and A La King is also in a white sauce with a bit of white wine, peppers, mushrooms, and onion. I bet you'd love them!

In short: Yes, eat back your calories. The calories that the website has given you has already calculated in a deficit so that you will lose weight - whatever amount per week that you chose when you set up all your information. The main purpose of exercising is to increase your health, and to help your body adjust to the…

I'm on 0.125 mg of Synthroid daily, but it's a real juggling act along with all the other pills for other health concerns! 5 years into this, and having a very hard time losing weight after never having had to be concerned about my size. Having this group available is extremely helpful for morale.

I have my settings at "sedentary." I don't work outside of the home, aren't chasing little kids, and am not currently doing any set exercising. I do, however, get to walk around the house as opposed to laying in a bed all day. Any caloric benefit from this is just considered a bonus in my eyes.

Try: Lots of fresh, cut up veggies Some fresh, cut up fruit Small handful of raw or roasted (unsalted) almonds Portion sized-yogurt And LOTS of water/unsweetened tea/unsweetened coffee Took a while, but my body got used to the reduced amount of food and I'm betting that yours will too!

5'10" last time I checked. Totally agree with clothing length problems (sleeves, etc.).

I agree with foleyshirley. I was plateaued for months, but when I changed my settings to "up" my calories (to maintenance level) I suddenly dropped 5 pounds. Surprise!

Yes, so long as you stay within your weekly calorie total, you should still lose weight. The only thing is, you will be losing out on the potential vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients that would be gained from consuming something a little more healthy.

Oh Yum! It's cornmeal that you boil in water and add things like cheese to make it all creamy and fabulous. You can eat it warm, or cool it and cut wedges out, or you can even fry those wedges to make it crispy AND creamy. Try it, you'll love it!

Thank you, kind sir! I'm meeting up with a bunch of HS girlfriends that I haven't seen in 30 years - could be interesting... I hope you get your question answered to your satisfaction.

I'm a big tea drinker (in more than one way! lol!) and find that just a touch of honey or splenda takes away any bitterness and emphasize the flavour. My cupboard contains quite the assortment of flavours - most found on the grocery store shelves. I really likeTetley brand; Chai, Strawberry, and Blueberry Green being my…

I'm heading out to Earl's tonight and went online to check out the menu. According to their website, I can safely order the Southwestern Chicken Salad - with dressing - and come in under 950 kcal. I just may be able to enjoy a glass of wine, too! The web is a wonderful tool!

I usually pick white or rose wines. A good , yet inexpensive choice is Naked Grape Cabernet.

That stupid Bird Dance. My father had the DJ play it at my wedding, knowing that I loathed it! And anything that has been passing itself off as Country for the last 30 years (love the old stuff...).
