  • My diet is, I would say, varied but not. I have a bunch of things I eat for breakfast but I guess they'rekind og all the sae (whole wheat bread, oatmeal, egg whites, fruit, milk), lunch is usually raw veg + dinner leftovers. Dinner can be pretty varied, we like to cook. I do make a big deal about trying to keep my macros…
  • Swimming makes you fat because the water is cold. So you store more fat. You know, like a polar bear or seal :/
  • My dietician reccomended adding some protein/fibre to my 4pm snack - I've found it helpful as I now avoid a sugar crash. Perhaps also some raw nuts? And I'm totally trying the cocoa nibs.
  • I might not understand your question here...if you're doing a "tempo run" i.e. hold a certain pace for a certain length of time vs. "inervals" i.e. max sprint/rest/repeat you're training different energy systems. Both will make you stronger but strictly speaking those are cardiovasular exercises, more about stressing your…
  • Some good info posted here. I just wanted to add how much love coffee. Everything about it is great. Mmmmm... However: - excess caffiene (>2 cups/daily) has been linked to early bone loss, especially in small caucasian women (if you're the women in the photo? I'm guessing...) - it does have an effect on your blood pressue,…
  • DO NOT START! lol. Anyway, there's no way you can gain muscle before 6-8 weeks. That's physiology. To OP: Simply be patient and kind to yourself. You didn't get overweight over night so we need to be patient with our bodies. Personly I eat much more, and if you are sticking to 1200 net do be sure to eat back your exercise…
  • [/quote] I want to be healthy, but I want to be skinny. I think I can be both. So tonight, after I work out, I'm going to have a kickass protein-filled sandwich and a glass of wine. And I'm going to pay attention to my numbers a little more, and remind myself that even though a very low calorie diet worked in my past, I'm…
  • Ellipticals are a one-size-fits-all kind of thing unless it's your own machine. So it's not you, the machine just has a funny stride length for you. Plus the fixed motion pattern means one aspect of your foot will always be stressed, unlike free running/walking, where the load varies constantly. I agree with the shoe…
  • My plain 0% has 18g protein per 3/4 cup. With a tsp of honey and a 0.75 yougury serving I'm at 12g and under 100kcal. I suggest shopping around and playing the label game, especially if you like yougurt. Lots of choices.
  • Not everyone needs every other day off but it can be a good rule of thumb when starting out. The idea is to give your joints/muscle a rest day, same as strength training, and there-by prevent injury and over training. BUT if you've already had good luck with your current schedule, carry on. Just be sure to "listen to your…
  • My only caution about the german volume is that unless you are an experienced lifter and your technique is spot on its very easy to hurt yourself. Single leg deadlifts are a nice option, very focused for the proximal (top of the) hamstrings. Keeps your back out of it, works your balance, and you don't need as heavy of a…
  • Also, sometimes when you loose enough weight your arches are under less stress so you'll need different shoes because the ligaments are able to work properly and so your foot shape may change.
  • I have a vauge concern that they're trying to make Penny "stupid" this season - I don't think they have yet but I could see how they'd do it and I don't want that to happen. I'd really like them to address the Raj/alcohol/girl situation - I think the writers putting some time into that would be interesteing instead of just…
  • Prefacing my rant: I hate the new companion. Where the hell is river? I hope she kicks Clara's *kitten*. Clara is annoying and I really don't appreciate the writers trying to make me like her so much. This season has made me SO ANNOYED. What was up with dinosaurs? Seriously. And I'm STILL waiting for Matt Smith to do…
  • Tomato soup from a can. Mmmm...sodium.... Especially with agrilled cheese, made to the previously posted specs. And gold fish crackers.
  • WHAT IS THAT? Is it a savoury or a sweet? Weird!
  • 1) 2 cups of coffee ONLY, after that it's tea or alternatives 2) Do 5 of the discharge files that have been siting on my desk since before Christmas 3) Go downstairs to my bike now. Full 60 min before work, upper body training after.
  • You want the truth? You can't handle the truth!
  • I'd love to be included.
  • Hey you can add me too if you like - 30 years old in Canada, love being active and still struggling with that last 5-10lbs.
  • I'm in E-town, into pretty much any and all sports. Feel free to add!
  • Saw it in regular D. My husband has epilepsy and I have migraine issues - both of us came out w/o issue, LOL. Didn't even THINK of that. I loved it, but everyone but me knew it was in multiple parts, so at the end I was all like WTF? Where's the rest? And everyone is all , cooool. I felt dumb. My oppinion, more singing!
  • I've been power and olympic lifting on/off since 2006 - I've done some coaching and I'm happy to share ideas and such. Feel free to add.
  • Just do it. It's always dissapointing when people don't get cool costumes but do you really want to dress up as a sexy cat or sexy nurse or...whatever you want to make sexy I guess. I even saw a "sexy" finding nemo once...shudder...which is why I've dressed in halloween drag for 5 years running. I go in boy costumes, and…
  • I've seen it 3 or 4 times, always in costume. I go as Columbia (gold coat version).
  • Something is always better than nothing. Get at it.
  • Ramones, Sound Garden...lately I'm STILL loving that Slash album that came out like 16 months ago.
  • Thanks giving weekend here...I'm through day one but I noticed that my coping mechanisms i.e. not having bad stuff in the house, left me without any resistance when the snacks came out. Ha ha. We'll get there, I'm about 7 lbs away myself, and at least if we take the slow road it's less likely to come back.
