  • I just had mine taken out in emergency surgery a little over a month ago. I'm fairly healthy - maybe little bit chubby so getting it out so suddenly was unexpected. My gallbladder was full of air and they didn't know why. I feel a lot better now then before. 1. How long did it take you to recover fully from the surgery? It…
  • 2010 Toyota Yaris. Pretty good little car!
  • Beetles. The large brownish black ones that fly (Palo Verde Borer Grub Beetle?). They come out at night and make thumps/clicks on your walls as they fly into things. Completely terrifying.
  • I'm allergic to cow milk, goat milk, eggs, shellfish, salmon, strawberries, cantaloupe, barley, pinto beans, almonds, walnuts, chicken, turkey, and oats. I think I'm missing a couple, but you get the point. Are you intolerant or "epi-pen style allergic"? I'm epi-pen allergic to most of my allergens except the nuts which…
  • my version is probably unhealthy but I like to get firm or extra firm tofu and fry it in oil until it is crispy on the outside (takes a while). Then put it in orange sauce or hoison sauce.
  • I eat lots of veggies and soy meats, so I get to eat more food for my calories versus small portions of high caloric, processed foods. Are you drinking enough fluids?
  • A road bike, new clothes, and new tattoo!
  • I've been vegan 12 years and I'm chunky :blushing: But when I do eat a healthy, vegan diet (compared to a junk food vegan diet) I lose the most amount of weight. It just depends if you eat broccoli or Tofutti cuties (soy ice cream) for dinner.
  • I've been vegan for 12 years and I am doing fine on it. You will be amazed how easy it is too get enough protein plus more. My body is clearly getting enough nutrition (obviously since I am on here trying to get less:wink: ) without meat. I will also add that asa child I was chronically ill, but when I gave up meat that…
  • Honestly, that was the first reason I had to lose weight. Revenge is my favorite past time.
  • I was diagnosed with severe IBS as a child and found out recently that I actually have multiple food allergies.
  • I use it as a way to de-stress and forget about my busy schedule. Sometimes I take my homework to the gym and do it while I'm on a cardio machine.
  • Hi! I have been here for a year, but I have never gotten around to joining a group. I have been vegan for 12 years with a couple of years as a vegetarian while I was in culinary school. Unfortunately, I found out after I started my career that I was allergic to eggs (the irony) and have had to switch careers to something…
  • I have never just gotten around to posting in the year I have been here. Lol.
  • Eating homemade salads for lunch is my secret. And spinning class at my gym. Once I started both those the weight literally dropped off.
  • I get about 40 a day. But whenever I get my blood drawn at the doctors it shows that I'm perfectly healthy and that I am actually over on my protein. Eating peanut butter and drinking hemp milk helps.
  • Do you like the complements on your looks? Do you like being able to fit into rides at Disneyland? Do you like it when you can fit into smaller clothes? Or when you realize that you might just not die from heart disease? I think all those things would be worth it. It has been for me so far. I actually have food allergies…
  • Join a gym, or get a personal trainer, or exercise group (meetup.com might have some in your area). Be accountable to others and you are more likely going to stay on track. I take two exercise classes and at the end of each my instructor always says, "see you next class!" I then feel guilty if I slack off. This website…
  • I'm working towards about 120 pounds weight loss. I've already lost 40. Send me an invite if you would like!
  • You should be able to do it if you work really hard at it. That would be about 2 pounds a week. I would buy a cheap dress in the size you want and hang it somewhere you can see it and try it on regularly. If you gain muscleand tone up then you might not see it reflected in your weight as much. so it might be easier to aim…
  • English Muffin Pizza - Add pizza sauce and cheese to an english muffin. Bake 350 degrees till toasted. Wraps - Tortilla added with choice of filling (meat/cheese/veggies) and low fat cream cheese mixed with herbs. Parfaits - Low fat yogurt with layers of fruit. Topped with granola Veggie dog in a blanket - Wrap a veggie…
  • No headphones? I always thing that headphones get me jazzed up to run. :ohwell:
  • I've lost a hundred pounds in a year before I joined myfitnesspal. I did it through eating 500 calories a day. But after getting super sick I finally decided to try and get "better". Which I did. And then I went to culinary school. You can probably imagine the what happens there surrounded by all that food, especially…
  • I liked it mixed with my chocolate protein shake, but I still prefer almond milk mainly because of the taste and health benefits.
  • I personally would have a tummy tuck. Most people might think that's bad, but if you put in all the effort to lose the weight, then why not be able to show it off? Other people have those Gastric Bypass surgeries and no one says a thing.
  • I have one on the top of my hand and then three around my ankle. The ones on the ankle bone probably hurt the most. But the pain is bearable and only temporary.
  • That was hilarious.
  • But it has to be labeled on the packaging that it's mechanically separated and Mcdonalds doesn't do that anymore (but other places do). Just fyi. It's still gross.
  • http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2010/10/04/mechanically-separated-meat-chicken-mcnugget-photo_n_749893.html If the calorie count doesn't get you then take a look at this photo of pre-chicken nugget yumminess! (not for the weak of stomach)
  • I would suggest eating more lentils, brown rice, and spinach to get higher protein intake. Don't forget to add fruits and veggies to keep it balanced. I used to worry about my protein because of the whole protein hype but after getting a blood test I fond out that I am actually getting too much. Try cooking ethnic cuisines…
