I'm in pretty much the same boat as you. Went from 13st to 9st and was super happy with how I looked, then I moved in with my other half, got a job and got too comfortable! I'm now at 11st and hate it. I've now joined a gym and am logging daily to lose what I've put on. I'd suggest a fruit salad or a smoothie for breakfast…

I'd say I'm lightly active as I work in a store and am on my feet for roughly 10 hours a day, 5 days a week. I've only been doing this for just over a week now and the scale has dropped by 4lbs but I know that's water weight. Should I be eating more?

I'm 5'3. Started off at 185, went down to 126 and am now at 165. I'm aiming to be 130, I was happiest and felt great at that weight.

Is there any accurate way of estimating what I burn then? MFP also WAY over-estimates calorie burn, a lot more than the equipment.

I have it set to sedentary.

I have it set to 1lb a week.

I'm 5'3 and am now 151lbs but aiming to get to 130lbs.

I'm being accurate and weighing everything I consume. I also have my activity level set at sedentary even though I'm on my feet at my job for about 6 days a week. I'm aiming for 1lb a week.

Jack and diet coke, only really get the calories of a shot of Jack then which is about 65.
-
I'd also like to know how long it took to lose the weight without exercise?

Thanks everyone, this helped. Yes, I have successfully lost weight in the past. I used to weigh 183lbs and went down to 126lbs but that was when I was jobless and could fully focus on losing weight. I started making diet changes today and went with a healthy turkey and wheat sub and am having soup for dinner!

Anyone?

I'm 5'3 and eat 1390 to lose. I can maintain my weight on about 1700.

I want to lose 14lbs to get to 126. I'm down 44lbs, did get to my goal weight of 126 last year but crept back up to 142 after I moved in with my bf.
-
Thanks. I already weigh everything I eat and drink. I'll look into buying some weights to lift while I'm at home.

Just enjoy it, move on and carry on as normal!

I felt the same way after losing 60lbs. I looked in the mirror and couldn't see any difference even though I'd gone down 4 dress sizes and 7 inches from my waist and hips. Luckily I took progress pics through my weight loss and that's when I realised I was a lot smaller and no longer over weight.

Thanks for all the replies.

It basically calculates your TDEE (total daily energy expenditure), so whether you're sitting, sleeping etc, it'll calculate what you burn throughout the day. I've had my fitbit flex for nearly two weeks and I love it, really keeps me motivated and makes me not want to give up.

I went from 186lbs to 126lbs and went from a 36B to a 34A but mine were mostly fat and looked horrible because of that (more like man boobs!) but now they're a much nicer shape haha. If you don't wanna lose your butt then do daily squats.
-
Thank you. I weigh everything I consume too.
-
I don't usually eat back the calories my fitbit gives back to me, so no? At least I don't think so. And I weigh everything I eat and drink, even sauces and stuff like that.

I'm 5'3 and 142lbs. I've been doing 1200-1300 calories for about a week or so now. I've lost 0.6lbs this week.
-
I refuse to weigh myself a week before my period and during because it's very discouraging, I've gained upto 7lbs of water during those weeks. It always goes back down a few days after my period has ended.
-
I think you need to continue calorie counting even after you reach your goal (to maintain, not to lose). I got to 126 and stayed there for a good while, I stopped using MFP and went up to 142 in a few months because I got too comfortable.
-
Ok thank you. How many times a week is acceptable to lose the weight? Is 5 days enough or should I be doing it everyday?

I have considered the Jawbone but after reading some reviews I'd rather go for the Fitbit, also at my job I deal with a lot of tech and the Jawbone has had a lot of customer complaints (mostly battery issues).

Thanks everyone. I want one for a lot of reasons. I need to lose the extra lbs I've put on and I feel like having one will make me want to watch what I'm eating more. Also at work I'm on my feet for about 10 hours, 5-6 days a week so it'll be cool to see how active I really am. Has anyone noticed that it's helped the with…
