Also, I know this is a joke thread, but do people really worry about what a first date thinks of their choices? If you think you might order the "wrong thing" and offend this person who is basically a stranger, maybe they aren't someone you want to go out of your way to impress in the first place.

Yes. "I know you probably heard 'bring me a lot of bacon,' but what I said was "bring me all the bacon you have."

I didn't read the whole thread, but I wanted to chime in. What people eat by region has had to do with the climate of the area and the foods that could be grown there for centuries. Rice in monsoon climates, olives and wine in Mediterranean climates, root vegetables and cabbage in wet/dry colder climates, etc, etc.. It's…

I don't know why people go so crazy for oreos. The cookie part is totally unappealing to me. I like the chocolate in my cookies to be actual chocolate (chips/chunks/whatever).

Your advice in this thread is not helpful for people who struggle with compulsive overeating. One time when I was in High School I had to sell chocolate bars. I ate 35 of them, in one sitting, and weighed myself after each one. This is what we're up against. The struggle is not at all comparable to "normal" people's issues…

Anyone here telling you that this is about willpower should be ignored. It's like telling someone with OCD to "just stop it." Binge eating and compulsive overeating (things I too struggle with) are mental health issues. See what the eating disorder clinic says. This problem (as with most compulsive behavior) is usually…

Take hot baths with epsom salt added.

"Women shouldn't lift heavy weights." A coworker once told me I lifted heavy because I "want to be a man."

In my experience, trainers at commercial gyms are not the best to go to for lifting advice. Out of 5 or 6 at my gym, there is only one who actually lifts and I only know it because I have seen him squatting, deadlifting and doing cleans. Most of the other trainers have people doing cardio drills with little dumbbells. If…

When I started lifting I asked a trainer at my gym to help with deadlift and squat form. They didn't know the answers. I find commercial gym trainers to really not know very much. I learned from youtube form videos and reading up on routines online.

I tried them just to see what they are like. They stink horribly and you have to rinse them for a long time before you can do anything with them. I did them as a lo mein/mei fun type dish because I knew that this would never in a hundred million years be a passable substitute for pasta. The texture is rubbery and chewy and…

Had a bottle of this last Friday - it's the bomb.

I can't stand people perpetuating nonsense. I don't have to stalk the boards looking for anything, these type of conversations pop up constantly. Threads like this make uninformed people go "If I cut out grains, I will lose weight without even trying!!!" A calorie deficit causes weight loss.
-
It depends on your weight, height, age and activity level. I am losing weight eating 1600-1900 a day.
-
If you are truly "addicted" to it, wouldn't the best thing be abstinence? Drink water.

OP, protein powder does't make you bulk, slim down or "tone up." It's just a way to supplement your diet if you don't get enough protein through your food choices.
-
You can gain it all back (or never lose it to begin with) "eating clean," too.

Body recomp - lift heavy weights and eat at maintenance.

I like a morningstar farms burger on a light english muffin with cheese and ketchup. 275 calories and great protein. It's similar to a sausage biscuit. And no, not a vegetarian, I just like them.

I have an OXO. I bought it like 5 years ago, there's probably a newer better model than the one I have.

I will probably get ridiculed for this post, but whatever. I have binge eating disorder. I have also lost weight (30-80 lbs) at least 7 times in the past 12 years. I always gain it back because sooner or later BED takes over my brain and I binge for like 3 months straight. I am feeling good right now, and losing weight. I…

I have in the past (I've lost weight multiple times) and it can be discouraging, rather than a goal to work towards. right now, I have all my size 4-6 pants that I was able to wear just 6 months ago in the closet. Laughing at me.

I add all my exercise as 1 calorie burned, because there really isn't an accurate way to know.
-
Your body doesn't turn anything into fat unless you are in a caloric surplus for the day. Charts like this only serve to misinform people about how their body works.

OP, do you live in a van down by the river?

I usually just have coffee for breakfast, because I prefer to eat a lot from dinner til bedtime. There's no reason to force yourself to eat breakfast if you aren't hungry.
