  • I agree, the whole point is awareness. Do you know how many people don't even know what ALS is or what it does to your body? I wear awareness ribbons EVERY single day, I had them tattooed on me. I have an awareness ribbon for Non Hodgkins Lymphoma for my boyfriend and one for Colon cancer for both my maternal grandparents.…
  • I'm so sorry for your loss, I was close to losing my dad a few times over the last 15 years and I can't imagine what you are feeling. Thank you for sharing your story, even if you just shared to vent you may have helped someone in the same situation. I'm sure he heard you and was comforted that you called and told him…
  • I must be weird because I generally like everything I try except for Liver, yuck but I think it's the texture I don't like. I also don't care for onions but that's mainly because they cause bad breath.
  • Nothing crazy just something I could remember mine is my first initial D for Denise my last name Furton and the year I was born 83 for dfurton83. No spectacular but easy to remember and easy for friends and family to find.
  • Is it the McDonalds making people fat or the invention of the Xbox and playstation? When I was a kid we used to ride bikes and play outside for fun. Now in my neighborhood no one rides their bike or plays ball in their yards anymore because they are all busy playing with video games. Fast food in moderation is ok but if…
  • Couldn't have said it better myself. This guy needs to learn to be an adult and pay attention to his self and what he's doing. I was told wearing tighter fitting clothes while working out is a good thing, you can see if you are doing the exercise with proper form.
  • I think Victoria's Secret models are pretty and sexy. However, they are also airbrushed and HUNGRY!!!! Kate Upton is great because is sexy while having curves.
  • Do you have asthma or COPD? Sweating is the bodies natural way of getting rid of carbon dioxide when you can't breathe well enough. Possibly extra weight could be causing it too, your body has to work harder to carry it around. Stress will cause excessive sweating also, just a few suggestions from the common folk.
  • My best suggestion is to smile and say hi to the bulky guys at the gym. The free weights side of the gym intimidates me, I usually only go over there with the trainer but eventually those sessions are going to run out. Anyway, make friends with the guys who lift, they can give you great pointers and they will be the first…
  • I never use a bench for chest presses, my trainer at the gym had me do them on a body ball. It takes up very little space because you can inflate and deflate it when not in use and store it in a closet or under a bed. They are reasonably cheap you can get them at basically any store like Kmart, Target, Meijer or the…
  • I think this is excellent advice. On my path to a healthier lifestyle I have run into a lot of people who want to knock me down. My sisters for instance make fun of me when I indulge in a bigger piece of cake or a second glass of wine, they joke around about how I will have to spend extra time at the gym. Sometimes the gym…
  • Just remember sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me!! Unless of course, someone throws a dictionary at you. That my hurt. When I see a derogatory post I just ignore it and remember a lot of people who log on here have poor self esteem and feel better when putting others down, have been picked on…
  • Working out has become part of my daily routine. I hate when I miss a gym day, I know I need the rest but it helps relieve stress and makes me feel better. I feel regretful when I take a day or two off. I always feel that way when the gym has closed and I didn't go.
  • Wow!! Why wouldn't you wear your bikini in public?? You look AMAZING!! You deserve to show off your hard work.
  • I am 5' 5". When I first started out at 196 lbs my goal weight was 145. I have since passed that goal and am resting comfortably at 135 lbs size 5 or 6 pants, I would like to lose another 8 to 10 lbs but will be happy where I am at. My goal was to be in the best shape of my life by 30 years old, I will turn 30 this…
  • Wouldn't that mean that any product with artificial sweeteners would cause diabetes?? As stated before most people who drink diet drinks are already diabetic or overweight. Best bet is to stay away from both soda and artificial sweeteners. Although I'm not going to lie every once in a while I treat myself to a Mountain Dew…
  • Britney Spears!! She has awesome abs and legs
  • If I had to pick one word to describe your progress it would be AWESOME!! Way to go, your kids even look happier in your current pics.
  • Boy do I believe that!!! I had gained almost 70lbs since meeting my knight in shining armor 14 years ago. I was 130 lbs when we met. About 6 years ago he started making comments about my weight gain, I ignored him as usual. Then he snapped a pic of me in the shower, boy did my eyes open up. I was HUGE!!! He wasn't trying…
  • I have 6 tattoos and in my opinion they are not trashy. As a matter of fact they become conversation pieces. I have a lime green awareness ribbon on my left wrist in honor of my boyfriend and his battle with non hodgkins lymphoma, I also have a royal blue ribbon for colon cancer awareness, it runs rampant in my family. My…
  • Pot Roast is the best!! Especially my stepmoms. I don't have a recipe since I am a horrible cook. But it's my favorite meal.
  • Wow!! I am so happy for you!! Congratulations I pray that you stay cancer free FOREVER!!! Nobody should have to go through that more than once.
  • Yes!!! I have lost a total of 60 lbs over the last 6 or so years. I have kept the weight off and have been just trying to tone up my flabby areas. At holidays and family events someone always has something to say about my weight loss good or bad. This Thanksgiving it was my Aunt asking whether I lost the weight the right…
  • You're going to LOVE the way you look and feel at each of your goals!! Just try to stay optimistic, you may have hard days but keep pushing on. The benefits in the long run are worth the hard work. This site should help you a lot if your truthful about your food diary!!
  • Thank you so much for the reply. I will have to add your suggestions to my daily regimen.
  • I was under the impression that artificial sweeteners cause kidney stones. I could be wrong but I would eat the artificial stuff sparingly, especially the diet sodas
  • I set a goals that I could easily reach and rewarded myself with small things. A pair of shoes or a new shirt. I had an ultimate goal to get down from 196 lbs to 145 I would get a hummingbird tattoo. Well, has come and gone I am at 135 contemplating that new tattoo. Except it changed from a hummingbird to an orange ribbon…
