  • I eat whole real eggs. MFP has me net 1200 calories and I have no problem fitting it in. Yolk has a lot of B vitamins and iron. Maybe consider doing one whole egg and the an additional 1-2 egg whites.
  • For a quick 30-4o minute work out, I don't eat. I just eat breakfast afterwards. If I am going to do a long run (6+ miles) then I have a 1/2 English muffin toasted with peanut butter and coffee an hour before, that's about 200 calories.
  • I'm 170 in the red. It's because today was my rest day and someone brought in cookies and cream goey butter cake to work and I couldn't resist! I will try to be slight under e next 2 days so it evens out.

  • HI there! I'm hoping to do a 5K this May and 10K in the fall. Trying to improve my pace this year. Once the weather improves I will start doing weekly 6-8 mile long runs. I've been trying to do 6 mile long runs on the treadmill but that is pretty painful!
  • Wow, great inspiration! My goal is to lower percentage body fat and I love ice cream so I' happy to know that I can do both. This recomp-building lean body mass is a new concept that I've never done before, so let's see how it goes.
  • I would make sure you use the thinnest bread available. Maybe look at the caloric content of the different options. I eat my deli meat sandwiches with tomatoes, cucumber, arugula, red onions. I would get rid of the lettuce and add more nutritional produce. Other than that- I'm not a huge fan of American cheese bc it sound…
  • I'm in! I have 3 weeks until spring. Hoping to lose 3 lbs. the scale has been stuck at 114 up and down for the past month so I'm not very hopeful.
  • We are a similar size as well. Age 39. 5'2" 114lbs. Chest 33" waist 25.5" ( smallest part) waist at belly button 28". Hip 36.5". For me it's my hips that seem disproportionate to the rest of me:) I am hoping that some strength training and building lean muscle mass will help.
  • Thanks all! Seems like no clear answer. I guess whatever works best with your calorie count and macros.
  • I'm 5'2" and 113 lbs. I look pretty good with clothes on and all of my clothes fit me again. But I am still a bit flabby so I need to add lean muscle and cut down body fat %. Probably 110 would be my ideal, but I'm not doing anything drastic to get there bc I'm just not sure I can maintain that. I agree, it may be that…
  • You can watch level 1 of 30 day shred and 6 week 6 pack on you tube. Those are good ones to start with. If you are an amazon prime member you can also get a few additional ones for free. My favorite one is NMTZ. Don't worry about the names. They are all good work outs. I like to rotate them for variety.
  • I've been doing NMTZ 2x week for the past 2 weeks. The last few times my knees were killing me but today they were fine. Whew. I cross train with running intervals and Pilates.
  • I'm right behind you. I'm probably starting on Saturday. I'm mostly worried about hurting my knees.
  • I do intervals. Makes it less boring. 1 mile warm up. 20 min of intervals. 1 mile cold down. Sometimes I do hill intervals and sometimes speed. Keeps it interesting. Once a week, I brave the cold and run outside. The winter is also a good time to strength train or work on cross training.
  • Yes. This. I can't stick to 1200 a day. When I tried I was starving all day,I felt weak and my hair started falling out. I exercise almost every day and eat 1400-1500. I'm still hungry at times but feel that it's doable.
  • Hi everyone. I'm new to the group and sort of new to MFP. I'm 5'2" and 112lbs so close to my target weight. My main issue is that I'm probably close to 25% BF. Would like to get closer to 20%. So that's what I will be working on for the next few months. I like to run and have been doing several Jillian Michael Workouts for…
  • Only 2lbs to go before I start maintenance! Part of it maybe that a lot of food that I eat doesn't need to be measured: eggs, sausage (calories are listed per link) etc. I do measure one cup of cereal bc I think that's an easy place to overeat, but I don't measure the milk. I guess I feel logging everything I eat is…
  • Watch the NFL playoffs! Allow yourself one meal where you go out with your friends and enjoy food and drink. Just don't so it constantly for 3 days.
  • I'll be the dissenter here. I approximate and don't weigh. I'm sure I'm off by a little bit. But I'm trying to learn how to do this on a long term basis and I don't see myself weighing food long term. I've only been using MFP for 6 weeks and so far so good. Someone asked how do you do meat/produce without weighing? Most…
  • Hello all! I've been doing JM workouts 2-3 times a week for the past 6 weeks. I run on the other days. I alternate between 30DS, NMTZ, & 6w6p. I like changing it up. So far, I've had decent results. Nothing dramatic but i'm starting to feel stronger. I'm turning 40 in 2014 also. I'm pretty much starting maintenance today…
  • Thanks all! I think I will try insanity. I am used to doing 45 minute work out and have the time for that so I don't need the shortened work out that T25 offers. I'm not sure about the giving up running though-it's important for my mental health. Anyone have a hybrid running/insanity schedule? I know some people do 2 work…
  • Probably for me it's 1500-1600 total (not NET) plus a cheat day of around 2000-2400.
  • Just bought a couple of pairs of Balega socks. OMG! So comfy.
  • Thanks, that makes sense. Although I'm always tempted to go on a run to burn as many calories as possible.
  • I decided to quit diet coke a month ago. I've slowly weaning off of it. I bought 8 oz cans for a while, slowly cut down from 2 per day to one then none. I replaced it with a small cup of coffee in the morning. I feel a lot better- less dehydrated, less hungry, drinking a lot more water. And my migraines are all but gone.…
  • Turning 40 next November. Since everyone says it's so hard to lose weight after 40, I'm hoping to get it done by then so then all I will have to do is maintain. Mostly looking to reduce body fat to 20% (from 25%). I'm pretty much skinny fat. No muscle tone, no strength or endurance. I'm also looking to run faster. Have run…

  • Yes, it makes a big difference for me bc I'm only 5'2".
  • Basically, I do the same. It's not a cheat day, but a cheat meal every 7-10 days. I try to even things out for the week. It's a part of my life to enjoy going out. I don't binge but when eating out, the calories add up fast.

  • I was in the best shape of my life at 32-33. 30-35 is the best. Enjoy it!
