Jan 7 makes my 1 year anniversary and I LOVE CF. Please feel free to add me. For the newbies. It doesn't get any easier but you do get better and stronger. Remember to rest. Unless you are a hardcore fitness person CF 3 days a week is a good start. Be active on the other days and make sure you sleep. Also take about a week…

I love this video! It works amazingly. I will add it to my routine again thanks for sharing!

Actually crossfit combines lifting and Metcons...my cf gym and most have two portions to the workout a strength portion which is lifting and then a metcon which may contain lifting....get your facts straight.
-
Woohoo joined CF Jan 7th last year been away from it for six months because Im volunteering outside the country but been lifting and doing metcons here. Add me :)

Check out Beginning Body weight workout on Nerd Fitness...just google that

I really love and recc crossfit but I saw a trainer for quite awhile before that and honestly my trainer spent almost all our time lifting except for a warmup of cardio she had me do before we started. Tell the trainer what you want and if you can't find it look into trainers who have olympic lifting backgrounds. Doesn't…

HA I have found that exact thing out. I joined MFP more as a food diary but its interesting to see how how much information and misinformation is out there. And thank you :) thats so sweet. I had nothing to do with how I look it was all a part of the genetic lottery but I am happy with the results

Add me as a friend also check out the Whole30 and paleo/primal groups on the groups sections here. I have been Paleo quite awhile I lost 165lbs and my IBS and insomnia is gone with it. I sometimes do primal (allow dairy and some good starches). I suggest going totally paleo 30 days the reintroduce things to see what may…

SMH people need better things to do than those things. Hence why Paleo people weren't fat *kitten*. I think I'd rather learn from then btw currently living very Paleo out in Africa while still enjoying my computer.

The one rep max doesnt burn many calories but the strength portion of WODs does. Anyhow I got my answer quite awhile back thanks.

Almost reaching 400lbs. It shocked me and I decided to start making a change. I hoped if I did then my mom who was morbidly obese would try too. I lost 60lbs and lost my mother, she died three years ago and in that three years I shed (and have kept off) 165lbs. It is a daily choice you make to live the best life possible.…

Agreed I crossfitted for months before coming to a remote part of Africa where I decided to run....a few weeks in hurt my knee and am now back to crossfitting. Even squatting with proper form and so glad I am not running anymore. Seriously whats your deal?

Also I will add I know you don't lift weights to burn calories but I am doing Metcons with include cardio and lifting in the African heat. I am sweating my butt off during these. I just want to make sure I eat enough to fuel my body. I know how to loose weight my biggest concern is maintaining and building muscle mass.

I didnt say I dont believe the number. I said the 300 I had tracked (from my original post) was without strength training added. So 300 wasnt right for the calories that day 600 was.
-
As long as you are still consuming a good amount for your body weight thats okay but 1200 calories for a 300lb person is too little. Also one pound in two weeks is not slow its normal. Don't rush your weight loss.
-
You are eating way too little calories and thats bad news for your body. Seriously starving your body (even if you don't feel hungry) is just setting yourself into another disordered eating pattern like the one that got you to 300lbs. Add healthy calories ideally from good fats or veggies or healthy carbs. Suggestions add…

Remember to take adequate rest days when lifting and get sleep Rest =Recovery Merry Christmas!!

I wish every single woman on the planet would lift weights at least 3x a week. Then we'd have one planet of strong badass women regardless of their size. I will tell you what lifting weights has done for me and I recc starting strength though I do CF and seriously love it. 1. Helped me loose 165lbs 60 was slow with cardio…

What that guy said. And you can still do squats with an injury if done properly. Seek some help.
-
Agree with this guy!! Fire fighters, police men ect lift in the gym to help them lift better at work
-
I know its a free tool but it would still be nice to have that ability. Nothing is ever going to be 100% but right now if 90% of my workouts are lifting then all of that isn't tracked in calories. The person above made a great suggestion by logging it as circuit training. BTW not all people can afford a HRM I am currently…

Google Nerd Fitness I love their stuff. Beginning Body Weight workout from them is great
-
Wohooo great suggestion thanks! I don't really live by the calorie count here but I like looking at it as a ball park. I lost the weight I did before MFP (165lbs) by just clean eating and working out. Never tracked a thing but I have found the last bit of weight loss requires more effort. My body does not want to loose…
-
MFP calorie amount is set up for with a deficit as in I created a plan to loose x amount of weight and it gave me a daily calorie amount to do that. So that is less calories than needed to maintain. If I burn 600 of those calories I should eat them back ideally or get close to it. I lift heavy weights I don't want my…
