Ok this may be the most uncomfortable topic for me, but I gotta ask. Since I've started dieting and exercising, I've notice my butt is disappearing. Now I know ya gotta loose weight everywhere before you see the belly shrink, but I have little to no room to get a smaller bum. Without doing squats (torn meniscus), what exercise can I do to build the gluteus maximus?

Research isometrics. I have been doing them for my legs and have noticed a big change. Just started with my abdomen a month ago and feel a change as well. Now adding the butt. Be careful, you'll be sore if you over do it. They used to be popular in the 60's.0

What that guy said. And you can still do squats with an injury if done properly. Seek some help.0 -

Mildly?0 -
I have the same problem, and was told walking uphill will help. Buying your pants in the boy's dept also helps. The pockets are smaller, so it gives the illusion of a larger butt.0

$600 for a Hip Thruster. What a joke. There is very little engineering in this design. I'd say ask maybe $150 and that's a push.0

Do they sell Kackies in the boys dept?0

This. Look into rehabbing that knee so you can get on with the real work.0 -

I've done squats for the last 9 mos with a torn meniscus and desinigrated ACL.
Are you sure your form is good??
Hip thrust squats ^^shown above^^ are an excellent move as well :flowerforyou:0 -

Yeah, it hurts like hell the next day. The surgeon said to stay away from them and leg extensions. My MCL is messed up as well. Just waiting to get into the VA for surgery. As far as form, well I've been lifting since 1982 and never had knee issues before and I regularly squatted 300 plus.0
