  • I saw coconut water , great answer. Also, using coconut water after the coffee is made can start weaning you off of adding anything to your coffee. I got so determined to drink balck coffee that I would be pouring cups down the drain because I didn't like it black, LOL. That did two things; it cut down my consumption and…
  • I 'suddenly' realized I was able to give myself a pedicure without suffocating.
  • So, so proud of you. I am very glad you posted, because other moms need to see this. Though you didn't mention it, I'm sure that you now have more energy for your precious family. It takes such courage and conviction to get up and "JUST DO IT". You are reaping the benefits of your commitment. Moms need to know it is…
  • OH! ME, ME, ME!!!!!:flowerforyou: :flowerforyou:
  • me too, but I have more energy with which to fight the fat, and at least now I have hope. I keep thinking of it as building more and more muscle and stamina with which to fight the Demon Fat! LOL. Hang in there. I saw someone post; "I may not win immediately, but most definitely".
  • Awwww, good for you!!!!
  • I don't know what caused you to post, but thank you! I experienced a similar change BUT then lost my little mind and lost my progress with it. Your pictures are a very concrete reminder of the very reason I should be looking forward to next Christmas in grateful anticipation. Reminds me that my everyday choices MATTER.…
  • Oh Honey, you've got to grieve. First, let me say that I am so sorry for your loss. Secondly, under the circumstances I wouldn't yet worry about my comfort foods. You didn't mention whether or not you are up to any cardio, but cardio will produce endorphins which will help stabilize and improve your emotional state. I have…
  • absolutely have experienced that, only two times in life, right after having my son and, unfortunately, now. Bottom line for me is the heckling stops when there is nothing to heckle. I go home, cry, and thank the hecklers for their encouragement. I am desperate not to be such a target, so after getting my feelings hurt, I…
  • I, personally, think you are doing an amazing job! I find it refreshing that you even care. As I am sure you know, if you've even had time to look, other sites are an "enter at your own risk" proposition. As with all of life, our attributes are our detriments. The very fact that we do form personal bonds here encourage…
  • I worked in a plastic surgery center for years. The Mds. there always allowed someone to walk though they requested they monitor their blood pressure. Not power walk mind you, stroll. A few of the docs actually requested their patients walk in order to speed the healing process. Some doctors believe in asking their…
  • lovely, AND it is a non-food related reward, even better :)
  • Sure, but what's even better LOL is that I am at an age where I dont' really care either way. It may good to be queen, but it is even better to be Nonna (Italian for grandmother for those who don't know)
  • she and her family are in my prayers. you express yourself so beautifully, I'm sure God/the Universe hears you, I know I did. May your dear friend receive nothing more nothing less than a miracle.
  • congratulations!!!!!

  • Just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed your post. Overweight at last. Brilliant.
  • Did you kind of just "lose it" and throw it all to the wind. LOL One way I deal with situations like that would be to have one beer and three wings, or something like that. I try to eat something healthy and still enjoy a bit of the other stuff. Has worked for me in the control department. Yea, and you didn't gain 6…
  • I don't like taking a break either BUT most successful athletes whom I would choose to emulate do take breaks, so.....On my day off I do yoga and still jog/walk the dog for 90 minutes, but that seems to be the break my body requires.
  • muscle weighs more than fat, plus muscle retains water during the building process, so.....sometimes gaining weight is a very good sign of an impending shrinkage. Hang in there, keep doing the right things and you will get your desired results. The scales are not our friend. Scales don't tell the whole story. Trust your…
  • my diet affects my mood w/n about 3 days. Been that way all of my life. I'm 53 so that is quite a bit of experience. Oh and by the way, I have been into this nutrition and exercise 'thing' since I was about 19 years old :). Hope that helps. It took me a while to check for physical reasons for mood swings or mental clarity.…
  • man up and drink the water, I used to hate it, seriously how can anyone hate water but I did, I got over it. I drink tons now.
  • I'm not going to be much help here. I'm simply joining the confusion. I am experiencing the exact same thing. PLUS, I use two different moniters and even they are not in agreement. Of course, I know I need to just keep on keeping on, but I would like to accelerate the process, wish I knew how. I keep averaging the numbers,…
  • I am forever asking - could you be putting on muscle ? (all the working out). Also, as muscle is building there is water retention, that is a double gain. I flipped this week because my weight went up, then I remember that my training increased. If my weight hadn't gone up that would have been a very bad sign that I was…
  • walking IS exercise!!

  • it is a life style change and a lifetime commitment, so....you are in for the long haul. If this will be your first time for the long haul give your body time to build a fitness level and become a fat burning machine.

  • check out runners world website - very helpful. I've read (too many times to count) that the runners number one enemy is self-induced injury, ignoring the body's warnings to take a break. In the long run costing the runner ultimately in distance and time. but check out the website to answer your question specifically.
  • I didn't get that at first :) Congrats.
