I have been overweight for most of my adult life. I met my husband in high school and after kids we actually started gaining weight together. We've dieted and exercised together but also went back to old habits together. When I finally decided to go thru with surgery, he decided to do it with me. I had gone thru classes…

No, no reflux or any kind of vomiting. Just nausea and diarrhea which amazes me because I hardly eat anything. TMI, sorry.

My doctor says I am supposed to take chewable until 8 weeks. I want to take my vitamins but they make me so nauseous that I can't seem to eat anything. And having to take everything multiple times a day keeps me sick to my stomach all day.

Thank you guys for all the feedback. I'm so glad I found this group!

Just an update. I got home from work this morning and my husband figured out his numbness issue. It Was related to the way he was sleeping because he was unable to sleep like he normally does and last night he was able to get comfortable and numbness went away

Thank you for the great info.

I have the same problem. I think being a mom and a nurse in a busy hospital, I've learned to just eat fast because I can't remember when I've actually had time to just sit and enjoy a meal with conversation. This is one of the things that worries me because I don't want to hurt myself after surgery and I'm finally able to…

Thank you all for your input. I have researched both procedures. I feel that I am going to go with the bypass. I completely understand that this is a tool and as long as I stick to the lifestyle changes that I am still working on, then I shouldn't have an issue. I do have occasional heartburn. And I hope that I have…

My surgery is not scheduled yet. My husband is also having surgery and he is going to have his first, he had never had surgery before. And I plan to have mine about a month later. Only thing we both have left to do is our sleep study. So realistically I will not have surgery until August or September.
-
Get back on track. Been feeling down, I think because I'm getting frustrated with how long I still have to go before surgery. Trying hard not to turn to food for comfort and then I get busy at work and don't pay attention and then I'm drinking a pop or eating something crappy cuz I'm tired.

Thank you. I never thought about taking my bands to work. I feel like I'm constantly walking since I work in hospitals. But it's not above and beyond what my body is already used to.

I'd call that a win. I am still in the pre-op stage as well and haven't really seen a loss in last couple weeks but my wedding ring is now loose on my finger so I feel that's a small win :)

My husband and I are in the same boat. We have everything done except the psych evaluation which he has next week. I will have mine next month. Everything is going smoothly and it kinda makes me a little impatient. My husband has to wait until the end of June to have his surgery because of some swim meets my daughters have…

I will not have surgery until the end of July. My husband and I will finish our class the end of May, he will have surgery first at the end of June and then I'll go a month later.

I am pretty much fat all over, but the part of my body that I hate the most is my tummy, Ive had 4 kids and it never seems to go away. I also have a big butt, but I dont mind it as much as I do my stomach

ive never heard of it, what is it

My husband used to be the same way and at times would even make fun of me (jokingly) about not being able to keep up. I finally had to tell him that I just cant walk as fast as he does and so I started using the elyptical....I love it (as much as you can love something that seems to want to kill you everytime you are on…

Montana Glitterhooter....nice to meet you...lol

I have it and Ive been to the dr about it. he fitted me for fitted arch insoles which made it worse, so I just so stretches, ice it, and i make sure the shoes i buy bend at the toes and not in the middle of the shoe. using the elyptical does not bother my feet at all. also the MBT shoes are great.

I have also tried and tried and failed everytime, so I'm now trying this. I'm hoping it helps, and so far it has, it really shows me just how many calories I take in without even realizing it. my page says I've lost 8lbs (i"ve actually lost 18) and I think all the support on here helps. I need to lose 150lbs and I know I…
