  • Are you about to start your period? It's possible that you're bloated and will see modest losses after you're done. Everyone else has given the best advise possible, but I still don't think two weeks is enough time to go from "so tight it may rip" to "I'm able to enjoy myself and eat my meal and dance"...I'm sure it's not…
  • The chao cheeses are VERY good! (I like the Follow Your Heart ones too, especially the pepperjack) but they don't have any protein in them, sadly. When we go hiking, I pack a small lunch of hummus, wheat thins, almonds, and a Lightlife Smart Dog - 7g of protein for 50 cals, which isn't bad! If low cal isn't a concern,…
  • SO good! I have a pack in the freezer right now and I've been waiting and waiting for a day above freezing to grill them. Their best burger is also incredibly tasty. Dang, I really want a burger now, haha. I like all the stuff Gardein does as well.
  • I also use Purple Carrot! We don't get it every week - the menu has to really jump out at me. I like cooking and I'm very comfortable in the kitchen but sometimes it's nice to see something you wouldn't normally try, or an unusual ingredient. The portions are pretty generous. We always get dinner (for the two of us) and…
  • Yes! The doors of our fridge are stainless steel, but the sides are black, so I just use a wee bit of chalk to write everything down as I'm cooking and then I input the recipe after. It seems overwhelming at first, but there's honestly only so ways to make food, haha. For instance, this is my rustic soup base (that we eat…
  • So strong! and that pixie cut looks incredible on you! You like Cristin Milioti I think.
  • So funny I should see this thread today! I was outraged ("outraged") as the grocery store today when they only had the normal sized (17 oz) bottles and I wanted the giant sized (28 oz) one, haha. Sriracha is great! I'm glad you've discovered it!
  • 5'2 but I've got the saddlebags of a much taller cowboy, haha :p My "goal" is 105 but I use quotations because I honestly don't think it will happen. Not being defeatist, just that I know I don't have the drive and sheer strength of will to get that tight. I'm at 125 now, and it's honestly fine, it's my body comp I need to…
  • Echoing everyone else - I count all that stuff, as it's usually quite calorie dense. When I do wiff my numbers, it's usually on things like salad greens, but 3 extra grams of arugula isn't going to hurt me :p I know not everyone can run out and buy a bunch of supplies, but I recommend measuring spoons that aren't on a…
  • Not to hijack the OPs thread, but this article provides a fairly good overview of why cancer rates are lower (though certainly not non-existent) in Amish populations.
  • I "accidentally" (grabbed the wrong bag of coffee at the store! that's what I get for rushing!) went cold turkey on caffeine for a week and had absolutely horrendous headaches. I'm not a hypochondriac by any means but I genuinely started wondering if I had a brain bleed. It wasn't until I was leaning on the kitchen counter…
  • I was doing course work in bed, and misplaced my pen (I'm very particular about my pens, so couldn't just grab another). After lifting up all my papers, then pillows, then the papers again, I stood up so exasperated, ready to tear the bed apart.... and the damn pen fell out from my stomach rolls.
  • Oh my gosh that sounds horrific! I second and third (and fourth and fifth!) getting a different opinion. Have you just been to see your GP, or a gynocologist? It's definitely not something I've ever heard of. Have they given you any explanation, or just said you look fine? I hope you're able to solve this mystery…
  • Running WILL get easier! And big ups to you for even trying! :drinker: I started C25K in November of last year, took two months off, did the program again, and now I'm working my way through 5-10K training. Ran 4 miles yesterday!! As for your back pain - I'd imagine having a hard chest makes it difficult, but that is not a…
  • I log absolutely everything (except spices, even though I know they can add calories AND sodium. It's just a choice I made). I also frequently use the recipe builder. Weighing and logging are second nature now and hardly take any additional time.
  • A glass of wine before a run can feel pretty fine, if you ask me. I'm certainly not drunk on one glass of wine though.
  • Obligatory "You should see a doctor" post. Considering this came on rather sudden, and there haven't been any other significant changes to your diet, other than restriction, it might be something serious. Another possibility - do you eat a lot of MorningStar products? I don't know if they've changed their formula, or I've…
  • I would try tucking your tailbone - that should help remove some of the arch from your lower back. And if it doesn't bother your neck any, you can look up at the thumb on your extended arm, and that should help you stack your shoulders. You could also practice against a wall, to get the feel of things. Good luck!
  • I'd love to see pictures of your Tonks, if you have the time! We thought/hoped for a while our female was a Tonk, but she's just a Tortie Point Siamese. Her tortoiseshell points didn't show til she was nearly 2, which was so bizzare.
  • J'adore blue points! And I'm loving all the Siamese action in this thread!! I've two kitties - a female, Applehead, Blue Tortie Point (Zsa Zsa) and a male, Seal Point Balinese (Bisou). We're only allowed two pets in our townhouse, else there would definitely be more!
  • You gave up coffee?? Haha, I can't imagine. It could very well be the loss of a stimulant combined with the additional of fibre, offset your balance/rhythm. Since you don't want to give the bars up, you could try really upping your water intake on those days. Someone mentioned Senna tea, and it might very well help you,…
  • Giiiirrl, I know your pain  I eat a lot less protein than you (75g/day) but still have this problem, so I suspect that's not the culprit. I also drink a TON of water, and am reasonably active. I even went to see my doctor about it, but he gave the same advice you already know - more water, more activity, more fibre,…
  • I lived in South Korea (Seoul) and strangers commented on my weight ALL THE TIME! Multiple times a day! People would pat my stomach as I stood on the subway, and give reprimanding looks. Or slap my hand away in stores while shopping for clothes, saying "too big!" and pointing at my body. My students (I was there teaching)…
  • Same! I have fine hair, but a lot of it, just past my shoulders. I wash with shampoo once a week, and use a sulphate-free cleansing cream 3 or 4 days after that, with dry shampoo (when I need it) in between. The transition was a little rough, but now I wouldn't have it any other way - my hair looks better now than ever.
  • Most people *including me!) count it as 20 mins circuit training, general.
  • ^Exactly this! My dentist actually suggested I take yoga (I'm a grinder) but it wasn't until I saw that the local studio had a flexibility focused class specifically for runners that I took the plunge. I go 4x a week now - mixture of vinyasa and hatha, and I love it! The instructor definitely makes all the difference, so…
  • I love my Graze boxes! Yes, it absolutely is more expensive compared to going to the store, buying the stuff in bulk, and making the mixes yourself, but guess what? I'm not going to do that, haha. So that right there is worth it to me. ALSO, I'm a sucker for tiny, cute things (like tiny shampoo and tiny nail polish!…
