  • will do! many thanks!
  • Thank you so much for the response; makes a lot of sense. I agree about the sit-up calories - perhaps I won't log them at all. The other thing I was thinking was that I was doing more circuit training/functional training when I lost the most weight. Do you think doing more HIIT rather than 5km running would produce better…
  • Bump
  • D'oh! Sorted now.
  • Vicks Vaporub worked for me. Far cheaper than the standard treatments and very effective. You still have to wait for your nail to grow out, but you can see the new fresh nail growing fungus free below it. Google it. The stuff is great for all sorts of conditions.
  • Shoulder is all fixed since the steroid injection so I've been managing all the exercises this month. Quick check-in: Squats 75kg - needs work as just not getting low enough OHP 22.5kg - had to restart at 20kg because of shoulder. Never been very strong at this one. Bench 30kg - restarted this one too. Row 47.5kg - needs…
  • Good for you! You're feeling the pain in all the right places. I would repeat the same weight again next time you're ready to DL. After a couple of times you won't be tired on the 5th rep. Following this you should then up the weight. Good luck!
  • I do a 5k run on the days in-between stronglifts (which always includes squatting). I've found my running pace has really improved over the last 6 months. However, I ran less than 2k home from the gym today after lifting, and my legs felt completely dead. Not something that I'll be repeating! Perhaps alternate leg weights…
  • I put my gym clothes on first thing every morning (other than my 1 day off a week). On a school day I go straight to the gym after taking the kids to school. Everything else gets done when I'm back from the gym or my run. Actually, I am much more efficient after working out! If the hardest thing is getting off the couch…
  • Mine goes into sleep mode when I use the pepper grinder!
  • Grilled fish?
  • I use green lentils all the time. They don't need soaking. My most simple recipe is to cook them by boiling them. Then once they're cooled add them to a salad. My favourite is chopped cucumbers, chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, green lentils, bit of garlic salt and loads of balsamic vinegar. It's a lovely lunch that will…
  • I quite like the health documentaries on the BBC with Michael Mosley. They're still available on iplayer here http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/search?q=mosley
  • Oh poor you! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's not that serious. I'm thinking that if it's not better by the time the kids go back then I'll have to go to the physio. Perhaps if I'd rested it properly last week... In the meantime, just running and going for walks with the kids is BORING!!
  • Lifting heavy weights will make you huge! On one hand they complement me on how "skinny" yet toned I've become, and they ask me how. I tell them lifting heavy has made a real difference and they say no, no it will make you huge! Duh!
  • Hello! Here's my opinion: 1. Both treadmill and MFP calorie burns are estimates and never as accurate as a heart rate monitor. Choose one method and stick to it. It should be roughly right. 2. Just checked your profile and all I can see is how old you are and that you're female. Nothing else. If you did fill in some bits…
  • You're doing great! It just takes the longest time to lose fat from those stubborn areas. You can't selectively lose fat so just keep going with what is working for you and in time it will come off.
  • Just wanted to share... Deadlifted 83.2kg today! Feeling rather chuffed! Have a good weekend :)
  • My first time going all-inc this year and for 2 weeks! There is no way I'm going to PIG OUT, but I won't be eating like a budgie either. I'm planning on going to the gym and/or running in the morning before brekkie. Breakfast can be poached eggs, cooked hams and fruit (yum). Spend a lot of the day doing watersports &…
  • Take a look at Stronglifts 5x5. It works the entire body and makes you gain strength progressively. I love it and have had great results from it. There is a group on here for Stronglifts 5x5 women.
  • Hi You've got a great routine going there. If you're not doing it already, I really recommend the Stronglifts program which is 3 days a week and will keep pushing you. I think you'll definitely notice results after 8 weeks, and the hunger thing should settle down. Good luck!
  • Hi I'm 5'7" and I've gone from 154lbs to 136lbs since the new year. This is the first time in my adult life that I've managed to shift the last pounds, and the main changes was weighing and logging food, and moving from never-ending cardio to weights. Feel free to add me - my diary will be open.
  • They're great for you! Check this out http://www.eufic.org/article/en/nutrition/fibre/artid/Goodness-in-Potatoes/
  • LOL! I like to select the cutest cuddliest of them all.... mwahhahaha
  • Google bodyweight workouts. Look on images and you'll find some great routines to follow - you can do it at home with no equipment.
  • Last June workout and I'm pleased to say I only lost one day of lifting due to a mild virus, so my calendar on the 5x5 app looks rather nice  So today: Squats: 72.5kg - success - repeated weight to improve form, and I think I'm ready for 75kg next time. Bench: 35kg - success - again repeated weight just to be sure,…
  • Not if you don't go over your total for the day. I have a drink (or two or three!) most days, and try and fit it into my calorie goal. Some days I go over so I compensate by going under another day. ETA: For me it was a lifestyle change rather than a diet, so I decided that I wasn't going to give wine up permanently so I…
  • Try a weights program like Stronglifts 5x5. I find it very addictive and it's great as I don't think about what I need to do on a lift day - I have the app on my phone and just work through it. On alternative days, any cardio, or some rounds of circuit training using a Tabata timer - time flies when you keep changing what…
  • The weights will make a real difference. I've been doing Stronglifts for a few months and my abs are now starting to show whereas no amount of dieting or just cardio have ever done that before. Your calories, macros and exercise seems great. Carry on with stronglifts and you will see the difference in under 3 months.…
