  • www.thedietdoctor.com 2lbs a week can be done for the short term, but your body will start to self regulate and adjust to what you are doing. You might also want to research intermittent fasting. Adding walking and exercise with light weights or yoga should also help slim you down without necessarily losing weight as you…
  • I have the same problem. Since I do intermittent fasting, I time my eating window for later in the day/evening so that instead of being a bad habit I am feeling guilty over, it becomes part of my normal eating routine. I've actually managed to cut back my snacking by doing this. Just plan it into your specific dietary…
  • That's what I was thinking. Haha! If he's been thinking about this for a while and that's the best he could come up with, then even if you were single I would still say "run, run very far away." It tells you a lot about his mindset. He doesn't find "big girls" attractive and he's surprised that he found you attractive in…
  • Fell off the wagon back in October and have been having the worst time getting myself back in line. I've gained back 25 lbs and I can see it's a downward spiral of frustration/depression which leads to carb cravings and emotional eating. But seeing for some reason still doesn't always add up to making good choices. I am…
  • I've been freezing all winter this year, even when it says it's 65 in the house, too. I don't think it's related to my blood sugar readings, but I would like to know what's causing it. I am also not anemic, so not that. But BRRRRRRRRRRR! Sorry, I have no answers, but I do sympathize with you as I am going through the same…

  • I was worried about my total cholesterol readings too and worried that the doctor would nag me about it. However, my most recent labwork shows my cholesterol well within normal ranges. Stick with keto and your numbers will come down.
  • That's awesome. I have to go in for my next round of testing. I was at 6.1 a year ago and hoping to be into the 5's. I can't imagine being in the 4's.
  • That was interesting. It's so common to just say "Oh, I have a low metabolism." I've considered before that that was part of my problem with stalled weight loss, but when I followed a plan to "reset my metabolism" it didn't have any effect on me, which seems to be supported by this doctor who says that it is rarely the…
  • I'm not getting the NaN displaying, but Google Chrome has yet again blocked my extension. I already went through the process once to recover this like a year ago and just now they blocked it again. I may just have to stop using Chrome because they are getting ridiculous.
  • Sometimes I put my spaghetti sauce over avocado chunks or wrap it in a lettuce leaf as a lettuce wrap. I also put it in a bowl, add a dollop of sour cream, some shredded cheese and diced onion and eat it like chili. You can do almost anything with a good spaghetti sauce if you just go crazy and get creative.
  • That's really awesome! I am hoping to get my numbers down that low, too! What an inspiration you are.
  • Bloody brilliant!
  • Just ordered tickets last night for me and my daughter to go. http://www.fathomevents.com/event/doctor-who-and-wings/more-info/details Tickets for the Regal in Dublin, CA were $18 and the Cinemark in Union City are $15. You're paying for both nights, so I imagine they will be around the same price elsewhere. We're excited…
  • OMG! I want one! Lol.
  • THIS IS SO TRUE! Even if walking is not strenuous for you, it is still exercise. I've read a lot of reports lately that state even the littlest bit of extra walking is beneficial. Will you get a ripped 6 pack and chiseled arms from walking? Probably not. But that doesn't disqualify it as a legitimate form of exercise.…
  • The Great Gatsby, The Book Thief (I really liked the book, though) and all of those Twilight movies.
  • This with respect to the morning high carb count. Before I started on a ketogenic diet my first morning readings were 120-135 or so, even if I had fairly low carb counts the day before. Now that I am keto my morning blood sugar has been averaging 111 and today it was 96. It took some time to get here, though. Everyone's…
  • FANTASTIC!

  • I use my blender. I have an hour commute and it's still fine when I get to the office. To save time, I melt equal parts butter and coconut oil and then pour them into a silicon candy mold and freeze them. I then just grab two squares each morning and when I mix them in the blender with the hot coffee, they melt nicely.
  • I worry about this myself, but figure it is something I will have to deal with when and if it actually happens. I would just continue to do what you can now as far as taking care of your skin while you lose weight - hydrate, exfoliate (body scrubs help to remove dead skin and encourage your skin to rejuvenate itself), and…
  • Ditto. I do this and usually a hard boiled egg. Sometimes I'll stop at a local place and get a little bacon or sausage if I'm feeling particularly hungry that day. Avocado would be a good idea as well as anything you would eat for any other meal. Who says breakfast has to be "breakfast" foods? I've used to eat Chinese food…
  • It sounds a lot like your grief is taking a serious toll on your body. I am sorry for your loss and can't imagine how hard that must be. I agree with the other poster who suggested meditation or yoga. Both of these will help the mental side of your stress and that should be a big help. If you are able, you might also want…
  • That is wonderful news! I can't wait until my A1C gets that low. You're an inspiration.
  • I have this book and love it. The Roasted Chicken with capers is so delish!
  • I love these seasonings! I buy them when I go to the theater, but they've started showing up in Target now, too.
  • Oh my this sounds delicious! My current addiction is David Ranch Flavor Sunflower Seeds. 190 Cal, 15g Fat, 5g Carbs, and 2g Fiber. Also sliced almonds. I can drag those out for a longer snack than the same equivalent of whole almonds. Also, you can toast them in some butter and add a little bit of Splenda on top. MMMMMM!
  • This is normal, too. It's basically something to do with the fat accumulation in your neck or around your throat, etc., that constricts your airwaves.
  • I assume this is because of the lack of sleep. My husband has sleep apnea and he almost never gets a really good night's sleep, which they say can lead to weight gain, so this makes some sense to me.
  • I had lettuce wraps made with ground turkey, onions, water chestnuts and hoisin sauce. Yummy.
