  • MY favorite is Zonya Foco's Lickety Split meals. I use it at least once a week. Great recipes with normal, healthy ingredients, easy to follow & understand and all the nutritional information is listed with every recipe. There are soups, crock pot recipes, desserts, and under 15 minute meal suggestions. I've made several…

  • If you like the regular cheerios they are for sure the better choice. I personally don't like them at all but do like the multigrain. I think the little difference in calories, etc. is still way better than most other cereals out there.
  • As long as you are eating enough you should be burning fat. You don't want to lose the muscle. Pound for pound muscle is smaller in size than fat, but a week probably is too soon to see a noticable difference in measurements. I measure myself every 2 months to be sure to see something.
  • Your normal daily work routine is used as to how active you are when you sign up to figure your calories for the day. Any "work" you do that isn't part of your normal daily stuff could be used as activity. I work part time 4 days a week. When I work at night instead of during the day there is more physical labor involved…
  • Do you have stairs? Go up and down fast once, then up backwards, up sideways each way, then skip a step forward & each side. You can add variety by walking up with your toes pointed either in or out or carry something heavy while doing it all. If you have more time then after every flight or every other flight do something…
  • I drink water as my beverage for very meal. If we go out I finish one tall one before the food even comes. Also while having a snack like the 100 cal popcorn, I drink a lot of water . Water & popcorn seems to fill me longer than anything. I probably average 10 a day and more in the summer or if I fit a good workout in. Now…
  • There is an aerobic dancing choice that I used for it.

  • I agree that you can workout enough in 2 weeks to feel stronger, but losing 5 pounds, especially if you don't have a lot to lose, in that short of time and have results that stick is a lot to hope for.
  • I have one & like it, but 10 minutes a day is a lot if you're not used to it. The weighted ones are much easier to keep going than the regular ones. The one I use is 3 pounds.
  • NO you should not feel so guilty. A little guilt will help you get back on track, but if you never go off and enjoy a little here & there you will feel deprived or like you are on a diet, instead of making lifestyle changes that you can live with. Have your fun once in awhile and just get right back to what is right for…
  • Thank you for the ideas. I like the turkey breast & roast chicken ideas. I am a good cook, but for some reason have never had luck with roast beef. I don't think I was ever taught the right way to cook it or which cuts are most tender. Turkey breast & chicken can just be put in the oven and forgot about til I'm ready which…
  • My husbands family is Polish & ham is everyone' s Easter tradition so I'll be making it here too. I have over 20 people for dinner. In the past I made the ham & kilbasa & ate it, but reallly am not crazy about it so would rather make ham & something else. Any EASY healthy ideas out there for a second entree to go with it?…
  • This is a simple alternative to chocolate cake. VERY moist & a favorite at family parties. Servings: 1/12 of cake (huge!) I box chocolate cake mix 1 15 oz can pumpkin 1/2 cup water 3/4 chocolate chips Mix all together & bake in a 9x13 pan sprayed w/non stick spray for 1/2 hour at 350. Doesn't need frosting. If you're not a…
  • I'll be the first to agree with you that it doesn't always make sense. I've had perfect weeks in the past & gained and then other weeks really mess up & lose. Guess our bodies will drop it when they are good and ready. Just don't give up. You know you're doing it right. I've only been on the site about a month now & really…
  • The treadmil is great for cardio & weight loss, but by itself doesn't tone everything. But if you are limited for time you can still spend the time on the treadmil and tone. When I'm on it I'll have a set of 5 pound weights or more with me. You can do all kinds of arm stuff with them while walking on a steep incline, such…
  • I'm amazed at how many people plan so many days ahead. I thought I was good planning for the present day or maybe tomorow! I think it's great if you can stick to it. At my house I'll plan what I am making and then everyone elses plans change and I'm not making a big meal just for me. I would love it if someone planned a…
  • I think eating fruit is a lot better then most snacks out there. When I was on weight watchers we had to eat a combination of at least 5 fruits and vegetables a day. A nutritionist I went to see said 3 fruits and 3-5 vegetables a day or about 2 1/2 cups. One thing I notice about fruits though is that some of them are…
  • I'm not much of a drinker any more, but the kaluha drinks are my favorite. As if the holidays aren't hard enough, this year the week after we went on our first cruise. I brain washed myself before we went hearing about how the food would kill you and stayed away from buffets and ordered the healthiest possible. It actually…
  • Pita pizzas are easy. I also enjoy the flat out bread for a crust. I by the Ragu light basil spaghetti sauce & spread it thin either on the flat bread or pita. Sprinkle with lowfat mozz. cheese (fat free doesn't melt) and any topping you want. We like ham & pineapple, or hormel turkey pepperoni with peppers. Then you can…
  • Thank you I have a long way to go before hitting 1200.
  • They do sound good. I just want to be sure I have it right. You mix the chocolate & water together to melt the chocolate?
  • Must be something in the air this weekend. Just chatting with friends on the site and reading some of the latest posts seems like a lot of us blew it or lost control this weeked. We're human and all have our days. Lets just say that all of us that messed up today or yesterday will plan out a much better day tomorow!
  • Good luck to you. I have lost 70 pounds in the last 2 years by making the healthy lifestyle changes. Closest thing to a diet I did was Weight Watchers and it helped for awhile. The only permanent way is to realize what you are eating and be active. That's what I like about this site. I wasn't able to exercise before mainly…
  • I was reading through the replys before making my own comment and your reply was pretty much the same as mine. I have lost over 70 pounds. I do eat pretty much the same breakfast every day. Usually toast or an arnie with a TBS. of peanut butter and small banana cut on it and a cup of skim milk, or I like the nutrigrain…
  • I wouldn't make up one day what went wrong the day before by adding or subtracting calories. It's over and the next day is a new start. Just starting to journal is a learning experience and takes a few days to realize what you have been used to eating and takes a few days to adjust it to fit the program better.
  • I joined less than a month ago. I too am a lurker, but have started commenting on a lot of things I can relate to. Going on the site & reading everyones comments is interesting along with informative and keeps me coming back. It's amazing there are so many people around willing to share what they are going through and…
  • I think the fiber & protein count are a bit low as those are the foods that keep you full. I went to a nutritionist & she suggested 25-35 grams of fiber a day. Just add it gradually if you aren't used to that much. The calories, carbs & sodium are right on to what she recommended to me. I too was surprised at the calores…
  • Fiber one pancakes. Simple. Just mix with water. I make the 2 serving size and add a mashed banana to it and sprinkle w/walnuts and a drizzle of sugar free pancake syrup. Doesn't take any longer than eggs & toast to make, but gets in a fruit and keeps me full to lunch. Then there's some for even a quicker breakfast left…
  • Do you want to come cook at my house???? ::wink: Great attitude. I am happy with a pound a week, but don't alaways get it. But I know that losing it slow that it has a better chance of staying off. Just can't give up as it's a life style change, not a diet, so we are going to have off track days and just have to get back…
  • Your weight does change day to day depending on what you eat, especially w/sodium. Also sometimes it takes a couple days for what you eat or your activity to take effect. I too have a problem staying off the scale, but I do now only go by what I weigh on Sunday mornings. Sometimes I wish I could count one from a different…
