  • You don't do Intuitive Eating to lose weight, you do it understand how your body works in relation to food and appetite etc. That's one of the first principles of IE. If weight loss happens, then great, but it's not a given that it will. IE is for when you're ready to stop being so reliant on 'diets' and just eat based on…
  • I bought a Lumie Clock, which is a dawn simulator, and this has made the most difference to my SAD, as of yet, it's not kicked in for this year - which feels like a minor miracle. I've used a light box for years and I advocate eating well and making sure I get out into the daylight at some point in the day (lunchtime walks…
  • Extra vitamin D has very little effect on my SAD, I was a bit disappointed! I have a light box and 20 minutes per day on that makes a difference. I recently purchased a Lumie Alarm Clock, which simulates sunrises and that has made a HUGE difference. I don't need a noise alarm anymore, the light wakes me up gradually and by…
  • THIS! They're not mutually exclusive traits.
  • I don't have cheat days, but I don't really exclude anything from my diet, I try to exercise moderation as that works better for me psychologically in the long run (previous binge eating issues). I just try to eat as best I can, with occasional good treats thrown in.
  • 5 bites? You underestimate how much I can get in my mouth. WAIT! That sounded rude. You underestimate how big my mouth is. WAIT! That's still rude. You underestimate how much I like shoving things in my mouth. OH FORGET IT.
  • I'm not vegan, but I don't eat any dairy, so I look to a lot of vegan blogs for recipe inspiration! I'm currently topping up my protein intake with Sunwarrior raw vegan protein powder. Nutritional yeast is great for extra B vitamins (makes an excellent cheese substitute too). Oh, I live for nut butters too.
  • Once a fortnight, that way I get into a routine and always skip period week. :)
  • I have a Fitbit Zip and I've been using it for over a year. Is it completely accurate? Probably not, but then nothing is, your body can't really be counted second by second. Before this I had a Nike watch (for running) and I used a Polar FT7 HRM for all my workouts. The calories burned numbers have been consistent between…
  • I just managed to take my trousers off without unfastening them. Size smaller, here I come!
  • I live / work / commute in London. If I couldn't eat after 7 or 8pm I'd never eat dinner! Some days I don't get to sit down for dinner until 9pm!
  • 35 and still acting like a teenager for most of my days. Add away! :)
  • YOU'RE MY HERO
  • This. I use a LadyCup (because they're smaller than all other cups and I'm *ahem* tiny) mostly because I'm lazy and only have to change it before bed/ upon waking but also because they're SO secure. Tampons made me leak all over the place (and gave me the worst cramps ever - that wasn't my period, it was the dyes and…
  • I set myself a TDEE-15% daily calorie allowance and ignore my Fitbit. I mostly use it to challenge myself and up my step totals. But if I am having a hungry day, I will eat a little more, at least I know I've got the room to do so!
  • Drink lots of water! But maybe not that quickly ... ... now I feel sloshy. :/
  • I didn't *hate* Rose, but the whole Doctor and Rose thing did get a bit diabetic-coma-inducing at some points. You're amazing Doctor! No, you're amazing Rose! No, you're MORE amazing! OH GOD JUST GET A ROOM. My heart still breaks every time I watch Doomsday though.
  • I have those shoes too! HIGH FIVE!
  • Companions 1) Donna Noble 2) Liz Shaw 3) Sarah-Jane Smith Honourable mention to Rory Williams - he's my favourite male companion by a country mile.
  • Thank you! :)))
  • Is this where I introduce myself via the wonder of my River Song cosplay photo?
  • Totally. I'd love more John Hurt on my screen in that character.
  • If we're going classic, John Pertwee. He was such an amazing actor and made The Doctor into a very physical character, I really hope Peter Capaldi takes some hints from his portrayal. If we're going modern, Matt Smith. He had that lovely air of 'a bit insane' around him. He was a magnificent Doctor. That said I'm giving…
  • Post of the day, laughed waaaaay too hard. Bravo. :)
  • Herbalife shakes are also about 35% sugar, that can't be great for you. You could probably make the same kind of shake yourself using natural ingredients - I bet it would be more filling too!
  • Londoner. Happy to add anyone for motivation and diary snooping. :)
  • Always happy to meet new MFP'ers who will keep me accountable!
  • PLEASE LET PEANUT BUTTER BE ON THIS FOOD LIST!
  • Nut milks have only just started being reasonably priced in the UK over the last year. When I first discovered my dairy allergy in 2011 I was paying £3 ($5+) for a litre of the stuff. I couldn't afford a dairy allergy! Thankfully, now they've taken off and dairy-free alternatives are available everywhere for half the price…
  • That and it's near IMPOSSIBLE to find a decent vegan protein powder that isn't full of soya. The amount I have to pay for Sunwarrior is criminal.
