  • Whoops, looks like I forgot to check in last week! Here's this week: Weight down 0.8lbs 0 NEWTS or OWLS (sorry, never remember to check what they are) 223 exercise minutes Welcome to the new Slytherins! So nice to have you join our wonderful house!
  • Check-in! 0.6lbs down 5 NEWTS, 0 OWLS 220 minutes, 3747 cals
  • I do love a wild party! Check-in: Back up two pounds :( 3 NEWTS, 3 OWLS Exercise 95min/1737cals Trying out a higher calorie allotment starting today, seeing how the week goes.
  • I had such a great plan for my extra 20 minutes today, and parked on the opposite end of the building from where I wanted to be. That was fine in the morning when it was chilly but clear. And then it snowed alllll day. So getting *back* to my car was slower going and fairly treacherous! (Only slipped once today! I do think…
  • OK, starting 2012 at 287lbs! That's 4.8lbs down from my last weigh-in so counting Christmas holidays... feeling pretty awesome right now :) I think I might up my calorie goals, though. Considering that while I was away I paid attention to my portions but didn't log anything, barely exercised, and definitely ate my share of…
  • No weight change this week - not a surprise, really, since I'm at my parents' until after Christmas 3 OWLs, though, and 4 NEWTS! 195 minutes of exercise (2800 calories)
  • Weight down 0.4lbs Not a single NEWT or OWL, haha Exercise minutes 175 Considering it was exam week, I'm gonna call this a success anyway! And I'm another YAY for crunches, since they're already part of my routine :D
  • Down 3.6lbs (!!) Exercise minutes 245 OWLS 3, NEWTS 7 (I made them: do my C25K all three times - did not happen!-, and drink more than 8 glasses of water)
  • No change in weight this week :( 7 NEWTs (hurray!) and 1 OWL. 285 exercise minutes!
  • Well, today turned into my cheat day by accident! We had a nice big snowstorm yesterday so I couldn't go out and buy any fresh groceries, then today I had to leave the house at 7am and didn't get back till just now (after 9pm), meaning I had to eat out for both lunch and supper and had no gym time at all. Didn't go hugely…
  • I'm down 0.8lbs! (Love having a digital scale now, btw) 0 OWLs, 6 NEWTs 310 minutes of exercise, burned 4151 calories
  • Haha, just tried to do a set of the kick planks, hoping to get one OWL this week, and it did not go well! I'm not so good with the balance and coordination thing, so I could do the kick into the stretch and the plank, but could *not* get out of the plank to get back up! So I managed for or five (very slowly) and gave up.…
  • Phew, day one of C25K. My face was bright red and I was sweating *a lot* but I finished it all! I'd been planning to finish out the hour doing something else, but I was way too worn out and just went home after, haha. But I figure my endurance will get better eventually! I found a Hogwarts character maker thing (like,…
  • All right, you've all convinced me. I've downloaded a couple week 1 podcasts for C25K, and first thing Saturday morning I'm going to find out if I'm coordinated enough to run on a treadmill! As for OWLs and NEWTs, I'm doing pretty good on water but haven't even tried the exercise yet - I keep forgetting to clear a space to…
  • 6'0 on the nose! Higher heels have snuck into my shoe collection in recent years, too, which means I think I'm finally used to being the tallest girl I know.
  • Yes, it sure is! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p-5ANq4sAL0
  • I'm currently reading Mad Merlin by J. Robert King. About 1/3 in so far and really enjoying it - it's dense at times, but the author definitely has a sense of humour, which I appreciate. I also keep audiobooks in my car for driving entertainment, and am just finishing off Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix there.…
  • I am loving this water challenge for NEWTs - I refilled my 32oz water bottle twice today, so that's 12 cups right there! Tameko: I do have a heart rate monitor, but I read that this particular brand overestimates calorie burn, so I actually take 2/3 of what it says and enter that (which, in the past month or so, has been…
  • Tameko: I'm a whole lot heavier than you are to begin with, so I think burning calories is easier? Haha, at least that's the explanation I was given! I generally do elliptical plus the weight circuit at my gym. All right, I'm excited to start my first week! No school or work today, so I'm thinking of cooking something…
  • Hi Tameko - just accepted your friend request! I'm thinking it's the food for now - I'm bad at eating my exercise calories because my daily calories are reasonably high to begin with and my heart rate monitor tells me I burn tons more when I'm working out, so I'm going to try and eat at least 50% of them and see what…
  • Hello! My name is Josie, and I've just been "sorted" into Slytherin :D I joined MFP this spring, and lost 60 lbs realllly easily. That's about one third of my total loss goal, which is awesome, but I've basically plateaued so now I'm on the lookout for some motivation, ideas, support, and I'm calling on my Slytherin…
  • I'm another vote for crafting! I tend to crochet when I'm watching tv - you get lots of scarves done that way. Or journalling - harder to do while watching tv, but it sure takes up spare time!
  • Haha, thanks! I just need to be patient, I guess! I'm up for monthly challenges, too, though nothing too stressful, haha.
  • Oh, I love this group! I'm 6' tall, over 300lbs (for now!), and am definitely discouraged by the lack of dress size change even though I've lost 30lbs already. I remember my doctor being very surprised when she weighed me a few years back because I definitely don't "look" as heavy as I am. I had my second day at the gym…
  • Well, I can't commit entirely until I find a good trail, but I'm definitely trying out week one this week!
