  • That is what I was thinking. Felt like crap last night. Prepared food and have a plan for the rest of the week. What are some good sited\s to get nutritional info for individual foods that I combine, i.e. 2 egs with ground turkey, onions, green peppers, jalapenos and tomatoes?
  • Till I started a 6 week challenge at a local gym that involves a Paleo diet my key was oatmeal with half a cup of berries in it. Or a Medium blizzard from Dairy Queen :)
  • I was in the Marines from Aug 13 2001 to December 15 2005. the PFT is a 3mi run done in 27 min or less, Pullups minimum is 3 and crunches (I forget the minimum). It is all based on points with 300 being the best you can do. If you do the minimum of each you will NOT pass. Assuming you current fitness level is not great I…
  • Running the half mafathon in Indianapolis, IN in May. Have not started to specifically train yet but I am making the transition to a lighter shoe with lees heal toe drop. (love how light the are compared to a a more structured shoe.) I will keep everyone updated and will also look for advise. Feel free to add me.
  • Along with helping a person to feel full. You body burns calories by breaking down the water that puts no calories into your body. This is especially true when drinking cold water since your body needs to bring the water closer to body temp in order to break it down. I carry a 32 oz nalgene bottle with me everywhere. on…
  • Goals: Run 2 mini marathons Run two 10K Run 2 obstacle course races get below 200 lbs (currently 220)
  • I am 5'9" and currently on may way back to Wrestling and Marine Corp weight of 175. Wife wants me to stay above 180 :). I am broad shouldered and looked really sickly like Jsuhandy_17 when I got below 170. I also read a few of you talking about a slight gut. That has way more to do with diet than loosing a few extra lbs.…
  • You are really kicking your *kitten* to burn that many but yes it is entirely possible. I am 5'8" and 226 An hour run at 160 BPM will generally burn close to 1000 cal for me.
  • Find someone to meet at the gym. Even if you do not work our together you will have a secondary commitment. Paul
  • Also look real hard into what you are eating and maybe take your weights up a bit.
  • I also wear and HRM and log it a cardio. Loosing weight while only doing body pump will greatly depend on what you eat. I you eat a good amount of protein you will replace most of your fat with muscle and therefore might not see much difference on the scale. You should see a big difference in how you look, feel and how…
  • I have had the FT7 for over a month now and have really enjoyed it abilities. it will always tell me when I dogged it a little or when I can go up in weight during Body Pump. Really helps me stay focused and accurate.
  • 6051 Calories burned between May 9th and May 15th
  • I attend a BodyPump class 3 to 4 times a week. Generally burn 600 to 700 cal per class. I think it is one of the best classes to attend.
  • I am not a Dr. but I would assume that this would be a problem. Take a good hard look at what you are eating. decide what has the highest Cal to sugar ration and try to find a better way to eat that same type of food.

  • Congratulations on taking the first step. If you can afford it I would suggest joining a gym and getting involved in some of the group fitness classes or at least have an appointment with a personal trainer. The group and the trainer will expect you to be at the gym and will wonder why you did not show up. Do not worry…
  • I have quit looking at the scale for this very reason. Started in early January 2011 at 235. Dropped 10 lbs like ti was going out of style. Since Feb 2011 I have hovered around 224, but have gone from a 40 waist to almost a 34. Not complaining just saying. I do Cardio, Endurance Weights and Just Weights. I know I am…
  • I also do Body Pump and decided to get a heart rate monitor to track my cal burned. Than I created Body Pump for my personal workouts. I use the HRM for everything. I even list my weight circuit as a whole and just put in the total time and cal burned. On a side note and good HRM will keep you honest about whether or not…
  • I have a Polar FT7 (Chest Strap) that I wear religiously while at the gym. It is always more than the machines. However I feel it is an accurate number. when I work my but off it is higher when I feel like crap it is lower. I especially like it for group fit.
  • I have always been told that a flat stomach is more diet than exercise assuming you are a healthy and active person. I would check with a nutritionist and see what they recommend for your diet as a whole.
  • 4/25 thru 5/1: 6,180 Cal 5/2 thru 5/8: 2,409 Cal
  • April 25 thru May 1 I burned 6180 calories. Was out of town most of this week so I will have to make it up next.
  • Any combination of protein, fruit, and some sort of good carb. Lately I will grab a glass of milk and a whole wheat waffle. But peanut butter on the waffle or heat up some frozen fruit ie cherries or blueberries. I generally feel full but not bloated.
  • I am posting the previous weeks totals on Monday. I burn 10 cal a min pretty easily. If I hit Body Pump hard I generally burn 730 in 65 min. after that I do an interval walk or the elliptical for 20 to 30 min. once or twice a week I do spring jogs for roughly 3 mi. I also do a weight circuit 3 days a week. Even on my rest…
  • Count me in as well! SW 226
  • My HRM is generally 10 to 20 calories more than the treadmill or elliptical. So I would say say it is safe to use the number on the machine.
