All. The. Time. Drives me crazy. I get annoyed when people give me a hard time about saying no to cake etc because I don't want to GAIN the weight back that I have already lost!

One eating distance runner here! Feel free to add me :)

This!

I had a very nasty bout of PFS following some very aggressive (and in retrospect, stupid) distance running in deep snow and ice. It knocked me out completely for two months with hideous pain. I eased back into running by doing walk/run intervals at first running no more than about half a mile at a time. I increased the…

I can't stand carrying anything. If I'm going to be out for longer than about 1.45 or 2 hours I might stash a bottle of something in the forest and do loops so I come back to it. Usually I just suck it up!

Edinburgh Marathon on Sunday! My first race post-injury so I'm a bit nervous. I've accepted that I'm not in my best ever shape, and it won't be my fastest race, but the forecast is for a beautiful day so I'm just going to go enjoy the view!

Well said!!

Words of wisdom!!

I'm in the final stages of marathon training for Edinburgh later this month. I found I was able to keep up with the weight loss while training for half marathons in the past and until a couple of weeks ago in my marathon training. But now that my mileage is really high, I need all the fuel I can get to recover and build up…

That's absurd.

this.

This!! You'll be fine, it's only a couple of days in a lifetime of health. I too had a super-caloric weekend and it was great. No guilt here - I needed to relax a bit :) Hang in there!
-
I'm with this. I think of it as a target and try to stick within about 50 or 100 calories.

I'm on my second round of Groupon day passes at LA Fitness, but I'm hesitant to join because I'm a runner and would only likely go a couple of times a week for cross/strength training. Nice clean facilities but crappy weekend hours. I tried to go on a Saturday last week and they closed a 4pm!!!! Also, they are constantly…

Yeah, I was at race weight too unitl Christmas happened. And then a flare up of runner's knee. I would need to lose about 5 lbs by Feb 26 to be back at race weight. Pretty unlikely for me if I want to continue functioning as a sane human being. I mostly stick to distance running now, but I've done a few Olympic distance…

I'm Canadian, but I live in the UK, so feel free to have a look at mine!

Oh, that sucks. Maybe go for some bean salads using tinned beans? Add some marinated tofu or cheese or already cooked sandwich meat to bulk it up? It's not hot, but it's good!

WoooooWWWWWWWWW!!! AMazing stuff! Well done :)

My husband is almost 12 years older than me and we've been together since 1999! It was a bit weird when we first started going out when I was 19 and he was 31, but the gap soon closed. The weirdest thing back then was trying to mix our friends, but it hasn't been an issue in years.
-
Really dull: for me it's when my husband uses the recipe function and I just steal the calorie count as recipes can't be shared :(
-
You got me.

Have a look at Runners World Smart Coach, or Hal Higdon. Good luck!

I'm with these guys. I never make up for binges. But I don't call them binges - just days when I went over for whatever reason (ie the Thanksgiving dinner I had last weekend!!). Then I just carry on as normal. Interesting topic, though. Thanks for posting!

Same here! I eat a LOT of fruit :)

Hello and welcome! Congratulations on getting yourself healthy! I've never struggled myself with an eating disorder, but I'm happy to help/support you on your way if you're looking for some friends! I also keep my diary public if your looking fro some healthy good ideas :)

Wow!!!!!!!!!

Hi there! Fee free to add me and have a look at my diary. I'm mostly vegetarian (except when I let my husband cook a bit of meat because it makes him so happy - maybe once a month!). I can safely say that I have no problem reaching my calories, so maybe you can take some inspiration from my food choices :)
-
I Hear you! I've met my goal, and then another, and now I'm at the bottom end of a healthy BMI so I need to increase and maintain rather than lose anymore. Feeling a bit panicked about it!
-
PS It's not about starving yourself, it's about changing your lifestyle and eating habits. If I didn't eat back my exercise calories, I would probably kill someone. Seriously. Our bodies and brains need food. :)

MFP does the calculation of the calorie deficit for you, taking into account what you've burned in exercise that day. Trust what it says and eat back those calories!! I ALWAYS do and I have been extremely successful in my weight loss! I'm currently (at 32) the same size I was in high school, which is pretty small. Your…
