  • I am going to second the poster above who suggested joining a support group or seeing a therapist. It sounds like this struggle with food is life long. Eating can most certainly be an addiction. If therapy os not for you maybe look into an overeaters anonymous group in your area. It would be free and offer you support on…
  • Ive found some calories burns very low..some crazy high. I used to use a body bug and saved calories counts for work outs I do and many MFP are low...the hikes we go on mfp underestimates by close to 300 calories. It grossly over estimates my time on the stairmill. I make changes accordingly when I log activity to the best…
  • Thanks for the support ladies. I have no issues doing other new things...bikram yoga...body conditioning...bootcamp classes. In fact I went to a new class tonight! The weights freak me out though. Im going to look into cost for a few training sessions and that weight lifting book and see where I can go. I gotta blast away…
  • During the week I'm stuck going after work...even going later the place is packed. Sunday isn't too bad and hubs comes with me and that helps. He isn't always able to come with me after work though. There is only 1 gym within 15 miles of my house so everyone goes there and its busy even middle of week on a Tuesday. The…
  • I wasn't...I'm going to now. Ive been eating more and Ive LOST weight. It had come to a halt and now I'm dropping again and eating a few hundred more a day. I feel about 1000% better and very healthy. I'm kicking vaccine without even noticing!
  • What would be enough strength training? I do strength training when I go to power yoga...when I do circuits I have weight sets involve. Do I need to get into lifting heavy? Do I swap cario days for weights?
  • I LOVE to spin. Its my gym addiction. I go to different instructors classes so it doesn't get old. Ive been going for a while and I go a few times a week so I'm able to start getting crazy...like putting my tension on 7 and moving it up from there for the whole class.
  • I learner the hard way that I can do nuts anymore. I'm going to a GI specialist to try to get a handle on things. I don't have a chronic problem but when it flares up its pretty bad. Thanks for your feedback!
  • The first time I ran I wanted to die. So hard. You do a tiny bit at a time and build on it. I ran one block and walked one block and alternated this for a mile to start. Then 1 block turned to 2 and then 3 and in a month I was managing a whole mile. We all start where we start. Don't get discouraged! If you can only do 15…
  • Thank you. Ive been low the past few days due to my acid reflux flaring up..its herd go eat enough when your insides are on fire :( but in general...I need to eat more. Ive been very focused on dropping lbs. I recently reset my calorie intake higher to lose .5 lbs a week instead of 1 a week. I'm 142 right now and am…
  • That's not nice. Why do I need to post photos? Ill reset my diary.
  • Ugh. I was worried someone would say that. lol. I like to do weights but I work a desk job and its tough for me to get in physical activity AND weights every day. I try 2-3 days a week to do resistance for my whole body and I make sure when I go to spin class I use a LOT of tension. DAMN GETTING OLD. lol
  • My weakness has never been fast food. I treat myself to a single egg mcmuffin once a week...dont get sweetner of any kind in drinks. Avoid soda like the plague. I love my veggies. BUT... I am a mean baker. And I make my own pasta. So I pretty much made myself chunky on my own home cooking... I could polish off: two and…
  • Ive done her videos for years...they will live up their name and "shred" you. Right now, Im doing level 2 of 6 week six pack a day or two a week (I do other workouts on other days at the gym). When you are done with this, I would recommend giving it a shot. It is TOUGH.
  • Why would anyone roll their eyes at this? Im asking an honest question. That is rude and uncalled for. I am not being mean to anyone...I am simply trying to adjust to a new system to track my input and output. This is information I could not find via the site so I figured I would ask. Based on my past experience, what MFP…
  • I am mostly posting to say that this is AWESOME. I love seeing Rocky live!
  • Im a therapist and I work with kids...sometimes Im up and about, other days its a sit in the chair and deal with sobbing teenagers and manage the crisis day.
  • Cardio is needed for weight loss and for general health. I dont think you need to do hours of it if you pay attention to the intensity of your workouts. Certainly the things you mentioned can be cardio if they get your heart rate up. If you like those sort of activities, maybe a boot camp class or some circuit or interval…
  • Id like to try this but my schedule would make it next to impossible to stick to. :(
  • I have never followed any type of plan that does not allow for eating after a certain hour. I lost 40 lbs eating very late dinners because I had no other choice. I cant imagine working out and then not being able to eat after and skipping dinner. By all means...eat when you can. As long as its within appropriate…
  • A pound a week is fantastic! The reality is we did not all gain the weight we are trying to lose in 2-3 weeks. So It is going to take just as long to take off.
  • I dropped 40 lbs (trying to lose the few I gained back now!) after I finished my masters degree and before I got married. I will never forget my MIL cornering me at Thanksgiving and DEMANDING to know what I was "on" to lose weight. I told her absolutely nothing...I was running 35-50 miles a week and counting calories and…

  • That is a fabulous compliment to you (in an odd way!) but yeah...I dont get it either. Exercise is NOT just for weight loss...it is for general health, stress management and if you do look fit you need to keep it up! I just dont think people understand. Im no where near looking like a fitness instructor but I have had…
  • We have date night once a week. I will not be gorging on fried food and tons of butter and sugar...the place we are going to (and the places we frequent) tend towards healthier menu options, fresh and local food and cleaner preparations. Tonight we will probably have some artisnal cheese and bread, one or two veggie sides…
  • It makes you feel like you can do anything. That if you can get your bad habits under control and work hard, you can do it all. And you can!
  • Hello! Once you get into the swing of things, loosing weight isnt so tough. And the gym time makes you feel like one bad mofo! You can do it!!
  • Man you look AMAZING. You are inspirational!
  • Yeah!!! I too am a food addict. I need to stop the insanity!
  • You got it!!!
  • I know we are all built different...Im your height and my body would not go below 127. Just wouldnt. Didnt matter what I did...more working out, new working out, working out twice a day, lowering cals, cutting out carbs, zero sugar (including fruit), IF... I just accepted that is probably a point where my body likes to be…
