Thanks, great suggestions! We got the Wii. And, I do exercise regularly - work out with a personal trainer twice a week and also run a few times a week. Just looking for something different to mix things up, especially since it is getting a little too chilly for runs outside and I get bored on the treadmill! Thanks again!…

They pump your stomach full of air so they can work around those little organs. That's why you are feeling bloated and why your tummy feels bigger. I wouldn't even get on the scale for at least a week. I had mine out last year. My only advice is to take it slow! I tried to do way too much too soon and it only led to more…

That's really awesome and very inspiring. I started this journey at 280 and am down almost 50 pounds. I get frustrated at times with this process that seems neverending at times, so it is really great to read stories like yours and realize this is possible. Thanks for sharing and great job!

Alan Doyle in June Barenaked Ladies & Blues Traveler in August And because I'm a good mom, Victoria Justice in September with my 7.5 year old!

Mix the Chocolate Cheerios and Peanut Butter Cheerios together. YUMMY!

I work full time and have a 7 year old. I don't work out until she is in bed (so usually not until 9pm). One thing that helps me is putting my workout clothes on when I get home. The success I have had definitely keeps me motivated to keep working out. Once you get started and get into a routine, it becomes easier.

you ROCK!!!!

You are growing another human being. You are going to gain weight. It doesn't have to be a ton of weight, but even for overweight women, no doctor is going to recommend losing weight. You aren't that heavy to begin with. Just eat smart, eat when hungry, and don't play into the whole "eating for two" myth. The…

Yes! I actually just had this happen to me. I started running in january and had no problems. But, about a week or so ago, I started getting pain in my right ankle. It's the same ankle I broke a couple of years ago, so I was worried I damaged something. I kept it elevated and iced on my rest days. And started wearing my…

That's awesome! You'll have to post about your race. I'm doing mine with two friends - one is an experienced runner and the other (who is also an MFPer!) is a beginner like me.

Absolutely! Nothing bothers me more than the "I wanted to raise my kids" comment. I guarantee you that my child's daycare providers certainly did not feel they were raising my daughter for me. And now that she is in school, I'm sure her teachers don't feel that way. Sure, they helped me raise her. Just as my parents,…

Exactly - it doesn't need to be a competition. Being a parent is HARD no matter whether one is a SAHM, WAHM, WOHM!!!!! Tearing each other apart for our CHOICES makes things harder for everyone.
-
Amen! Women are our own worst enemies sometimes. We could spend this time building each other up for our respective choices, but instead we tear each other down. Don't get it.

Nice. So, only rich people should have kids. What happens if something happens to your husband and you become a single mom who HAS to work? Are you going to give your child up for adoption? I certainly hope so. Also, good luck with homeschooling. I mean, I assume that is what you will do b/c god forbid someone else "raise"…

Actually I do make three meals a day. I make breakfast, I pack lunch for myself and my daughter, and I make dinner. And my house gets very cluttered by the end of the week b/c I just don't have time to keep up with everything until the weekend. My house was MUCH cleaner during the 6 months maternity leave I was home.
-
So, I assume you homeschool as well? Or do you let your child's teacher parent her during the school age years?
-
awesome! I started at 280, too, so it is nice to see what I have to look foward to! I am halfway to where you are right now (have lost 34 pounds) :)

Ohhh, I have asked myself this question a million times! I have to FIGHT for every pound lost, but one "bad" meal or snack and I'm up a pound!!!!

I suffer from anxiety. I have been diagnosed with General Anxiety Disorder, but most of my anxiety surrounds my health. I will say that my anxiety has actually gotten a little better since I've been eating better and exercising regularly.

These are all GREAT ideas! I do have Pandora and had no idea they had a workout station. I will check that out. I also love the comedy podcast idea!! Thanks all!!!!

Not counting tonight, 25.93 miles. It sounds pitiful next to some of you guys, but for me, that is HUGE! I was so sedentary before starting this!
-
Feel free to add me! I'm a working mom of a 7 year old. It is very tough to find time to exercise. I usually don't get to it until 9:30pm, after she is in bed.

I would love to join. I dropped the first 30 pounds, but have been stalling a bit lately :( I need something to jump start!

I recently got the Polar FT4 and love it!
