  • I've eaten an entire sleeve of thin mints in one sitting. :ohwell: I did not buy any this year and will not. Instead, last night at the grocery store I found Edy's makes a Slow Churned (light) Thin Mint ice cream (with the actual cookies in it!). Only 120 calories for 1/2 cup. I had that last night and it was so yummy and…
  • The Joy Luck Club The Notebook Notting Hill oh and I can't believe I forgot - Dolphin Tale! I cried at the theater and we watched it on dvd this weekend and I cried again, lol.
  • I just got an FT4 and love it!
  • I LOVE LOVE LOVE the PB and Chocolate cheerios together!!!!
  • Given your history with cancer, I would call and INSIST on being seen ASAP. Good luck!
  • So true! What I have been doing is looking at the menu before I go, deciding what to get, and logging it on MFP. Then when I get to the restaurant, I don't even look at the menu. That way I'm not tempted to get anything else!
  • I met my husband on match.com and we will celebrate our second anniversary in April!
  • Eating less and moving more. It is as *simple* as that! I stick to my calorie goal set by MFP and I exercise 4-5 times a week. I've lost 30.5 pounds in 3.5 months, so I'm averaging about a 1-2 pound loss a week.
  • SW - 280 CW - 249.5 GW - as of now, 175. When I get there, I will reevaluate and maybe set it at 150. I don't see myself below 150 - I like my curves! I was 150 in college and happy with my body. I feel that is a realistic and importantly, maintainable goal. But, first I need to get to 175 and see what happens from there!
  • I kind of felt the same way in October. I have a couple of friends who did the lap band and while I don't care what other people do, I just felt it wasn't right for *me*. On the other hand, I knew I could not keep going as I was. I signed back on to MFP (after not having done so for months) and have logged in every single…
  • I'm not a single mom anymore, but I was. And my daughter was just a little older than your son when her father and I divorced. He has very little visitation, so I rarely had any free time! I'm not a morning person, so I would work out after she was in bed. As soon as I got home, I would put on my workout clothes so I had…
  • My really "complicated" program is eat less, move more! Seriously, that's all I've done and I've lost 30 pounds in 3 months.
  • You know how much I think you rock already!!! You have been and continue to be a huge inspiration to me!! xoxoxo
  • I just hit 30.5 pounds lost on Monday! I have been following MFP, no "diet plan" so to speak of - just staying within the calorie and other (fat/protein/carb) guidelines recommended by MFP. And exercising. I started the beginning of October, so 30 pounds lost in about 3 months.
  • If I had to pick one lyric from one song, it would be "I wake up strange" from What a Good Boy by Barenaked Ladies. But, really the whole song just speaks to me: When I was born, they looked at me and said what a good boy, what a smart boy, what a strong boy. And when you were born, they looked at you and said, what a good…
  • If I'm legitimately hungry (i.e, not just bored and eating out of habit), then I will eat something. I keep sugar free jello and pudding cups on hand. They are nice and satisfying for my sweet tooth and @ 60 calories. Or I'll have string cheese, 94% FF popcorn, a handful of nuts, etc. Something small and low cal, but…
  • Simply amazing!!!!! Great work - so inspiring!
  • AWESOME! I just completed week 2. I'm finding it easier as I go, but man, my thighs were BURNING last night! Hoping that gets better soon b/c I can't imagine running more than 90 seconds at a time, lol! Really, really awesome - thanks for posting this and being such an inspiration!
  • My main motivation is my health. I got some not so great blood work results in September and that was the thing that really made a difference for me. I've always been a "healthy" fat person and to see that all those years of being overweight were catching up to me was a huge eye opener. And, as a side issue, we took my 7…
  • awesome, thanks for sharing!
  • Love the 90 calorie bars. They are great for a quick, filling snack on the go. They have a new flavor out - caramel pretzel and it is sooo good!
  • I started at 280 (gulp!) and weighed in today at 252.5. I can't wait until I'm closer to 200 than 300! Good luck - we can all do this!!!
  • IMO, you can pretty much find anything at any restaurant. Here's what I do with eating out - I look at the menu online. Most places have nutritional information (if not, a lot of it - or something similar - is in the MFP database). I decide what I'm going to get before going to the restaurant and then log it. And when I…
  • Um, yeah, I joined in July and then fell off the wagon until October, lol! Getting some not so great blood work results in September kicked my butt in gear. Years of being overweight were finally starting to catch up to me and I refuse to be on medications or anything for something I can control. So, yes, it isn't a choice…
  • You absolutely can do this!!! When I joined in October, I was at my highest weight ever too (even higher than the day I delivered Kate!). It is a slow process, but slow and steady wins the race, right?? I'm here for you!!! We totally can do this together!! xoxo
  • I haven't read past page one, so this may have already been answered. But, are you measuring your food? I started actually measuring and weighing what I eat and I have to say I was pretty surprised at what 1/2 cup of something actually looks like! I was way overestimating my portion sizes. Weighing/measuring my food helped…
  • I officially weigh in once a week, every Monday morning at the same time. I also periodically weigh myself during the week - it helps keep me in check.
  • I just got braces in early November (and I'm 38!). I have lost over 20 pounds since then, but that is just coincidence I believe as getting braces coincided with joining MFP and getting serious about weight loss. I will say, though, that having braces helped me avoid raiding my daughter's candy at Halloween! And I'm less…
  • I got the paraguard about 5 years ago after a blood clot scare. It was recommended I go off of hormonal birth control. I'm seriously the world's biggest wimp when it comes to pain and I found insertion "mildly uncomfortable". I had given birth before and insertion was done during my cycle, which apparently is the time to…
