I always thought I was a fussy eater until I actually started trying all these weird exotic foods...like tomato and mushroom...Seriously, you need to start just trying stuff. Think about all the healthy fruit and veg out there and how much good it can do for your body and start chowing down! :)

I use a pea protein powder after my strength training. Otherwise I eat a lot of tofu, tempeh, nuts, whole grains etc.

From what you've said, yes, I think you need to throw out your scales! **** them! You said yourself you are so healthy now, feel great and look great. Why are you punishing yourself with this number? Are you recording you BF%? It might be going down without you realising. The way I figure it, you have two choices: (a) You…

Do you have fry's products where you live?

I was thinking, WTF is an EFA? But i'm now guessing it's an essential fatty acid? Yes? I'm a lacto vegetarian, only eating eggs maybe once a week and only eggs from my chickens (i don't eat any products with egg in it). I have not felt better since eating this way. I used to eat eggs everyday, but a bad experience with one…

I know I can't do it for him. You are absolutely right :(. But I figure I've got to at least try. I'm hoping that if he sees some results without too much deprivation, he might become inspired (fingers crossed!). How did you feel when you were eating 2000 cals? At your beginning weight you must have been eating a fair…

He's been to the doctor just recently. They have been working on his blood pressure and cholesterol. It has improved since his last visit and his doctor is encouraging him to lose weight through diet and exercise. His dad died about 16 years ago from bowel cancer and his mum had a quadruple bypass about 4 years ago. Both…

98% vegan here....to be truthful more of an occasional ovo-vegetarian:) But only eggs from my girls Feel free to add me, just include a message :)

For anyone who is interested, this is another good documentary: 'Meat the Truth' (http://www.unleashed.org.au/features/meat-the-truth/) And also a little animated series which is a bit of spoof of the Matrix movies: 'The Meatrix' (http://www.themeatrix.com/) I stopped eating meat for many of the same reasons as what other…

I completely agree here! As many people have suggested just because you are vegetarian doesn't mean you are healthy or are even eating vegetables! Since I've been 99% vegan for the last 8 months I haven't been healthier and have started losing weight in a really healthy and happy way. But I have done this by eating a ****…

I do know that song! Fortunately my cats aren't like that. I have however, on occasion farted so loudly that it scared my cats...

Are you lifting weights? Protein is very good for muscle development, so why not use your protein effectively and start lifting heavy weights. It will not only make you look good, but it will help to speed up your metabolism (which you might need if you have been an avid yoyo dieter-i looked at your profile) as muscles…

Oh god no! hahaha

I would not recommend body trim to anyone. It's pretty much a meat only diet. Not healthy! I did it for about 3 weeks and lost heaps of weight very quickly but became insanely constipated and as soon as I ate anything with a carb in it my body all the weight back on plus more. Not only is it a bad diet for your body (sure…

How do you FEEL, and is it working for YOU? Make sure you are eating plenty of fibre, especially when on a high protein diet!

Jealous! I fart atomic bombs. Just ask my boyfriend...

Not at all! I just realised that it is a pretty serious circumstance and I was sitting on the fence by suggesting to reduce consumption when really, as you said, it needs to cease :)

Even though I was one of those 'previous posters' I agree with the above comment. You should stop eating them. I should have worded it better.
-
You really need to add more plants into your diet. I had a look at your diary and its mostly meat, cheese, eggs and processed carbs. I am not having a go at you, but I would suggest cutting down on the cheese and obviously the eggs if they're making you feel that way. You should definitely start eating some more fruit and…

Maybe you should stop eating eggs... you may have an intolerance ?
-
I would also like to point out that just because you are vegetarian or vegan doesn't mean you have to be taking heaps of supplements.
-
Thats excellent! I had a bit of a look at your diary and it looks pretty good! Do you FEEL like you're not getting enough protein? You could try adding some more whole grains into your diet like brown rice, quinoa, millet and other things like that. I would also recommend switching potatoes for sweet potatoes, way less…

I guess it depends on what your goals are. I think the guideline is 1 gram of protein for every pound or kilogram you weigh??...i'm sure its somewhere on the net... I would say just start out and go with the flow and see how you feel. Just make sure you are eating plenty of veggies and fruit and staying within you calorie…

Hmmm, I'd never heard of glutamine reducing sugar cravings, but come to think of it, I haven't craved sugar or sweet things in a long time, since i've been having glutamine.

Please don't get the misconception that vegetarians/vegans don't get enough protein. I understand your hesitation towards premade veggie burgers, so you should try making your own. You can use many yummy and healthy ingredients like beans, peas, lentils, tofu, veggies, tempeh etc. If you really want to up your protein…

I use it to avoid gettin sick and reducing muscle soreness. In my opinion, it's awesome!

You should try eating raw cacao beans. They're the good thing in chocolate without the sugar and fat. I find they give me a sort of 'zing'/energy boost and I quite enjoy eating them now. At first they were kind of bitter and strange but now I look forward to my daily serving :)

You could try: The zig-zag method. Lift more weights. Measure your body fat percentage rather than using the scales to give a more accurate indication.

How long were you vegan for? Maybe check out this website for some ideas. http://www.veganbodybuilding.com/
