I am 7 months pp, and still breastfeeding. My little guy is starting to eat solids, but still gets the majority of his food from me. The studies I have seen all say breastfeeding burns an average of 500 calories per day. Basically, I put in how much I want to lose, got the minimun 1200 per day, and added 400 back in to…

This sounds wonderful!

I made this for lunch today....actually, I made it last night before bed and ate for lunch today  used 1/2 c each rolled oats, skim milk, oikos plain non fat greek yogurt and fresh blueberries. Stirred in 1 packet Truvia, sprinkle of cinnamon and covered overnight. Before serving for lunch, stirred in 1 Tbsp organic…

I've been told I look like Anne Hathaway by several different people. I'll take it!

Wow, so many great ideas here! Will definitely go through and try some of these.

Trader Joe's chile lime chicken burger, topped with salsa and wrapped in lettuce leaves, roasted broccoli and brown rice (all of that comes in around 360 calories)

This sounds so good! Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to make it.

My first thought on seeing that is Ratatouille! YUM. Chop them up into about 1-2 inch chunks, If you have it, add some onion, garlic and fresh herbs (dried will work also) some cracked pepper, sea salt and olive oil. Saute onion and garlic in oil in a dutch oven, add veggies and stir for a few minutes. Add herbs, salt and…

Thanks so much for the tip! I do plan on incorportating some healthier, more hip friendly items...hardest one for me to figure out is a really good buttercream. Most of my frostings are a swiss style meringue buttercream, they don't have as much sugar as the traditional American buttercream...but..well, no subsitute for…

I have one pair of size 16 jeans and a shirt that I kept just as my reminder to never go back. That aside, I purged all of my clothes as I shrunk...thrift stores and Walmart were a wonderful thing to get smaller clothes. Now I have (a few) 2s, 4s, XS and S tops hanging in my closet. I do have 2 pairs of size 6 jeans that I…

My go to breakfast during the week is a protien shake. Aria Protien powder (only 80 cal/ serving) 1 cup skim milk 1/2 banana 1/2 cup frozen mango or mixed berries (depending on if the kids have eaten all of my mango for the week!) 1/4 cup nonfat plain yogurt Blend it all together, throw it in a travel mug and drink on the…

You proved me wrong about not bringing your own popcorn to the movies! Awesome! All of the theaters piss me off so much about not bringing in outside food and drink.
-
I beg to differ about not to "worry about the popcorn" If you are at home, and have air popped popcorn, then yes, it is a healthy snack, however, I find it pretty unlikely that anyone is taking their own popcorn into a theater. Please take a look at this link about movie theater popcorn! It definitely makes me think twice…

OK...big confession! Wednesday night, my boyfriend comes over, we have a blast playing with my 2 kids, get everyone off to bed, and make our way upstairs. One thing leads to another, and we are going at it like teenagers. Next thing I know, I hear my 9 year old daughter yell "What are you doing????" And she runs back…

Congratulations! As far as I am concerned this is definitely a success story!

Just have to say I am SO jealous!! Doesn't help I am coming up on lunch time and have a "rumbly in my tumbly" Aside from the burger, lamb and fried seafood, most of the menu is pretty good. Jaime Oliver is such a champion for getting kids to eat healthy, he keeps his food clean and honest. Red meat isn't bad if you keep it…

Where is the "like" button when you need it?

OK, take a deep breath! It sounds like you are on a huge learning curve here if you have made all of these changes at the beginning of the year. Go read the tagged posts at the top of the general comments section. That will explain a lot about not just how, but also, why this process works. You should be proud of yourself…

Congrats on the 2 lb weight loss already! I can't wait to see the scale start to go down again.

I am between 5'1 and 5'2, and started out at over 185 lbs. Unfortuantely, I don't have any before pics available right now...one of these days I have to pull them off of my old computer. I got down to my goal of 125, counted every calorie, worked out like a mad woman, ate my exercise calories...Then, I had to go from being…

Thank you, nice to meet you too. Good luck in your journey here!

Ain't that the truth!! I am a single mom as well...going through a divorce. I was a SAHM up until very recently, and it is hard leaving my kids every day, but I know I am doing the right thing for all of us. Our lease is almost up on "our" house, I found a much smaller place to call a home for my children and me. I know…

Cabot has a 50% RF Jalepeno cheese that is amazing!

I confess that since I hit my GW, I have slowly tapered off of MFP and now I am eating some not so good stuff! So far no weight gain, and I am back now to get back on track before it gets out of hand! Also, since school let out and my daughter is home, I have been slacking on the gym. I had every intention of going today,…
