Intuitive eating vs planned eating schedule
Had no problem maintaining my weight or shaving down a few pounds the last two years. First couple months of this year I find I'm doing less activity and more stress has entered the scene. I'm 5lbs up since the start of February and need to stop this slide. For the longest time I had a typical set food schedule of same…

Treadmill smell during break in?
For those who have a treadmill - the first couple times you put it to work during a long walk or run, did you notice a motor type smell (slight burn/oil type smell). Noticing this a bit on mine and wonder if that is expected at all the first few time the motor really gets a run?

Protein source: How much Chicken per day do you consume?
I've added Chicken breast into my meal plan daily and noticing it's helping keep me fuller longer along with upping other protein sources. So curious those who eat chicken as a prime daily protein source, how many grams do you typically consume? Is 150-200g/day quite a bit? That's currently what I'm aiming for. Thanks

Sole tt8/s77 treadmill thoughts
Local Costco sells the s77 at a reasonable price. Looks to be comparable to the tt8 model. I do mostly 5 and 10k runs (upwards of 9mph pace) and am looking for a quality treadmill for home. Is this a good model to consider? Thanks

Macro ratio for post run recovery/meal
For a while now after hard 5 mile runs I've been having a big serving of yogurt and berries. It ends up being about 30g of protein and 30g carbs and no fat. A bit later ill eat further but wondering if i should be eating more carbs and less protein right after as I'm noticing I tend to really graze in the few hrs following…

Switching from NEAT method to TDEE - looking for tips
I've long done the NEAT method and eaten back all exercise calories. Dropped as much as 90lbs doing so and have stayed around maintenance for over 2.5yrs. I currently at the top end of maintenance range from the holidays and looking to shave off about 5lbs gearing up for running season. Thinking of going to TDEE instead of…

Nutrition info for roasted beets vs raw?
I can't seem to find an entry in the dB that I think is accurate for roasted beets. I'd think that they'd lose significant moisture when roasted so was wondering if anyone had a reliable entry? If not next time I'll measure raw and roast them and then re-measure to figure it out. Thanks

Post run snack or meal?
I typically have a large serving of 0% greek yogurt with frozen berries as my post run meal which is usually around the lunch hour. I do find I get hungry fairly quick after eating this post run. Would it be beneficial to throw some more fast digesting carbs in there prior to the yogurt? Say an apple for example? Wondering…

Do you reduce cardio during a cutting weight phase?
I'm starting on a cut to lose around 5lbs of fat and hopefully retain most of the muscle I've put on. I do a lot of running and other cardio - those that go on a cut..... Do you reduce the high cardio a bit in that phase? Wondering if it makes it easier to manage hunger as cardio tends to increase that? Maybe switch to…

Using hrm to measure calories during Insanity - accuracy
I do the pure cardio session quite often and I'm wondering if my hrm is underestimating the calorie burn. I find myself much hungrier after compared to running although running appears to burn more calories in same timeframe. I get about a 370cal burn during this session. Because insanity isn't steady state cardio but…

Cleaning residue on rubber dumbbells and rubber mat
The weights and mat I bought has a slight film on them that is a bit slippery. Tried washing with dawn and hot water. Some still remains. Anyone else notice this and know how to clean them? Both are natutal rubber no odor so not sure why this is happening? Thanks

Amazing the difference between treadmill and hrm calories!
I did a 10k run on a treadmill at the gym this morning in around 42 minutes. Entered my weight on the treadmill as that was all it asked for to figure out calorie burn. Also had my Garmin Fenix3 with the scosche rhythm+ HRM and the Garmin footpod connected. Footpod and treadmill distance was quite close. Treadmill calories…

Going from very active to sedentary - adjusting to reduced food intake
I've had to take a few days off due to injury and having a really tough time eating maintenance calories based on sedentary compared to what I normally eat daily due to a high activity level. Seem to want to eat as much as I would during a day with lots of activity and a long run. Is it normal for it to take a few days to…

Daily burn estimate outside of exercise
Been having a tough time sticking to my deficit as of late which I think is around -250 off maintenance. 6'2M 170lbs 36y and around 11%bf desk job. Figure my daily burn is around 2300-2400 calories outside of exercise but again not sure if I'm hovering somewhere closer to "lightly active" vs "sedentary" outside of…

Too much fiber and fatigue?
Been getting around 60g of fiber a day lately and feeling slugging trying to maintain a minimal daily calorie deficit. Could too much fiber be playing a role here? I typically have a high fiber diet but have been eating even more veggies lately. Thanms

What size dumbbells to purchase next and blocks to raise them?
I recently got an FID bench for doing dumbbell exercises and really enjoying it. Currently have a set of 35's that I can do 4 sets of 12 with for a couple different presses. Ready to get some bigger ones and realize the reps will decrease. What would the next logical set I should look at getting to likely put me more in…

What are your top 3 foods highest in calories in last 30 days?
I just ran the report on my logging and although not surprised I think it's an interesting report to see where the bulk of the calories are coming from. So curious what others have as their top 3. Mine are: 1. Greek yogurt 2. Peanut butter 3. Almond butter

Do you monitor your HRM or pace when running races?
This year I've wore a hrm and monitored my stats while doing 5k and 10k runs. In some ways I wonder if it's distracting so might try without. Those with a hrm/fitness device, do you keep and eye on the stats when doing actual races or more so use for training?

Recovery snack / lunch after 5 mile runs
For a good portion of this year I've been doing 5 mile runs (6:45 pace) at lunch. My meal afterwards typically consists of 1.5 cups of 0% greek yogurt and 200g of frozen berries. I then seem to be then snacking a lot throughout the afternoon. I want to change this up to see if it helps with recovery and the snacking…

Glycemic load questions
I've been reading about GL lately and trying to understand if GL gets reduced if you add protein to meals. Example if I eat a banana or bread on its own vs with 75g of chicken or 10g of peanut butter? Or does the GL not move when you do this?

Issue w/ Homemade Greek yogurt nutritional calculation - why a lot different than commercially made?
I've been making my own yogurt for quite a while now. Using different milk% I've found that using 1% or 2% work very well. When I add up the total milk weight after making the yogurt - strain it and do the nutrition numbers based on initial weight of the pre-strained milk, subtracting the acid whey data - I seem to have…
