Dr Neal Barnard's Low Fat Vegan Diet to reverse diabetes
Has anyone followed Dr Barnard's diet to reverse diabetes? He claims you can eat without counting calories. Very restrictive vegan - no eggs, animal protein, dairy, or oils of any kind. Seems to be the complete opposite of what a person with diabetes should be eating. Anybody tried this?

Anyone have any experience with resistant starches? I started taking Bob's Red Mill potato starch and it's too soon for results. One thing is for sure, you don't need any fiber with the stuff!

Blood glucose monitors
Started out with a Precision Xtra and had consistently high fasting numbers (140+). Bought a Contour next EZ and getting readings of 115+/-. Anybody else have issues with their Precision Xtra? Now I wonder how off it was on the ketone numbers. How could they put such an inferior product out on the market like that?

Here's a question for the nutritionists out there: If I have a meal that has "higher" carbs (i.e. say 45 g carbs), can I consume a fiber supplement to help offset the higher carb meal? Kinda like applying the "net carb" rule?

OK. I have neuropathy in the balls of my feet which make it painful at times to walk. Neurologist suggested a stationary bike for exercise. Is it worth the investment? any recommendations? (Not looking to see how much I can spend). What say you?

OK, I started an ongoing glucose tolerance test on foods that I eat to find the culprits that raise my BG. what I noticed is that my fasted BG numbers start out high (>125) when tested first thing in the morning.
