What price/value working close to home
What price or value can one place on being able to work so close to home.🤔 Lovely bright sunny day 🌤 to start March, signs of Spring everywhere.😀 Started my new job on Monday and being able, due to time saved from not having to commute, to walk to & use my gym, for a workout & shower on the way, before getting to the…

Fitness in middle age and beyond
Found this article again. Thought I would share it here. Being a regular squash player myself, I would recommend racquet sports. https://www.facebook.com/100003659766114/posts/1750821648383144/?d=n

Exercise and Appetite
Lately, I am finding that I have a large appetite at the end of the day after an exercise session, especially after a squash match. I’ve tried eating a larger lunch earlier in the day and drinking more water to maybe curb the appetite later in the evening but that’s not working. Weight is steady now at 71Kg but want to get…

Magnesium for tight/stiff muscles
Just wanted to say that since starting to take on a daily basis 250mg Magnesium tablet with food, my tight/stiff muscles feel as if they are loosening up. Moving more freely and with less stiffness/discomfort. Wonder how many others are benefitting from Magnesium.

Homemade protein shake/smoothie
Been meaning to make this for a while, my own Mango & Peach Lassi (yoghurt smoothie) For 4 servings: 500ml yoghurt (mine was homemade full fat, hence it’s quite thick) 500ml Water 1 Peach peeled & chopped 8 serving spoons of mango purée Blitz all ingredients in a blender & voila!! Apparently, this is high in protein but no…

Worst cleaning jobs
Time to tackle one those really messy cleaning maintenance jobs in the kitchen. Got to dismantle and then clean out all grease build up in & within the extractor fan. Been a while, so I know it’s going to be real messy. Plus side, I can record the time as cleaning, heavy effort as a lot of scrubbing will be needed despite…

How to post photos from i-phone7 to MFP
Hi guys, Maybe someone out there can explain how from an i-phone7, one can post photos anywhere on MFP, other than onto a Forum discussion? Can’t seem to post photos onto the home page or general posts. Can’t understand why?

Clothes
Got really frustrated today with respect to available jacket lengths. So much so, that I took 9 jackets to the tailors today for shortening. Being a ‘shortie’ it’s really difficult to find clothes that are the right length when you buy them. Sometimes, I get lucky and find stuff the right length but generally trousers &…

Food Leftovers
I guess we have all had to deal with this problem at some time. After recent celebratory feast meals, as ever there is so much food been leftover. Trouble with this is that it’s there, so much of it and so tempting, hard to resist. Not good if one is trying to maintain control on diet and fitness. Try to pass leftovers on…

Role Models & Inspirational Figures
Just wondering who people see as role models and inspirational figures in their own personal battles to get fitter and what sort of physical shape they want? For me, I would say from the world of professional sport, it has to be Roger Federer, late 30’s, lean/toned and still playing tennis at a very high standard. From the…

Weekday breakfast
Usual start to a working day, breakfast at the office. Keeps the hunger pangs at bay during the day. Miss the taste of all those naughty types of breakfast meals but not the effects that has on my health & fitness goals.

Long workouts
2hrs at the gym today. 25mins cardio, 80mins of resistance, core & abdominal work.😊 More intensive cardio & serious calorie burn, planned for tomorrow evening on the squash court.

Body shape goals & ideals
Everybody on MFP is looking to get fitter, healthier etc. Just wondering what people’s goals are i.e. lose weight, gain weight & muscle, increased flexibility, getting lean, slim/trim, increased stamina etc. [Edited by MFP Staff]

Showering
I normally have two showers a day if I’m exercising, in the morning and then post exercise, later in the day. For me that’s enough, any more would dry the skin, unless I moisturize. I know some people have more, including showering just before they exercise and again after. Wonder what people’s view is on this? Also, do…

Staying Good & Resisting Temptation
Lunch today, a much healthier choice than the old me would have had.😊 This was at a Motorway Service Station, where if I wanted to be bad, I could have easily gone for a BK. KFC, Subway or Fish & Chips.🤔🤷🏻♂️😔

Calorie Allowance
Somehow managing to stay well below my daily allowance. Wondering how the calorie allowance is calculated? Does it take into account all factors like height, weight, build/frame, age & activity level? Glad to say had another deficit day today, while still having eaten enough to feel content but not overly full. If I ate…

Healthier Eating
As the motto on the front of this outlet counter says ‘Healthy eating does not have to be boring!!’ Certainly highly recommend this company if you find them at a Motorway Service Station.👍🏼😊

Runny nose when eating
Wondering how many others out there suffer from this same issue and how bad. Essentially, every time I eat, whether it’s hot or cold, spicy or bland food, my nose runs, like a tap sometimes. Gets quite embarrassing. Again, some people can handle it, while others get annoyed. I’m sure I’m not the only person who suffers…

3 course meal within my allowance for the day
Amazing, again stayed within my allowance for the day, despite having a 3 course meal on my own for dinner as I was feeling lonesome, comfort food I suppose. Keep the activity levels high to keep the calorie allowance high.

Exercise and Mental Health
Having recently been diagnosed as suffering from Depression/Severe Depression brought on by cruel & painful Heartache/Heartbreak, glad to say I’m using exercise to help fight this mental health issue I’m suffering from. Trying hard to restore my ‘Self-Belief, Confidence, Esteem and more, essentially trying to find my…

Calorie burn on a long drive?
Currently on a business road trip. Been on the road for 4hrs so far, on my 2nd stop as per safety guides for a tea. Still got I reckon 2-3hrs at least of driving. I know it’s not much physical exertion but the concentration and mental exertion levels are high. Is that why I feel hungry on such trips? Had a decent breakfast…

Food on the riad
Currently on the road on business. Lunch stop at Oxford Services on M40. In the bad days would have tucked into a BK or KFC meal. Not today though. A Tossed Chicken Salad will do nicely for me now with Sparkling Water.

Calorie burn & weight loss
Weighed myself last night at my club after an intensive squash session. 160lb, or 71.1 Kg. That means, I lost after 60mins of intensive squash in hot/humid conditions, 6.75lb or 3Kg!😲😊 I guess this is s shout out for the sport of squash but racquet sports generally. Read a while back, a great article based on the results…

Recovery & Relaxation
Feeling pretty worn out now as I relax in the lounge and digest my evening meal. Had another big deficit day on calories once I factored in my activity and exercise. I’m eating when I feel like it but less and don’t feel hungry, plus drinking more water. I know the ‘experts’ advise taking rest periods or rest days but that…

Diet & Fitness
35C outside & rising.☀️😎 Good time to dress real casual. Enjoying the feeling of my shorts now feeling loose, almost falling off as a result of pushing real hard on diet & intense exercise, especially cardio.😎 Seem to burn more calories with cardio based exercise.
