90 lbs to go....add me if you have a long journey too.
Hey, I'm starting back up with dieting and exercise. Walking for now near my new home near San Francisco. I've been working for the last month and want to be able to move better, have more energy and get healthier. I've lost 11 lbs so far, and it's made a huge difference. I feel like I can believe in this...whereas before…

Starting over
So I'm back on MFP to log my food and lose 100 lbs (I've lost 8 so far...almost to the double digits). I'm handicapped so I'm trying to use both exercise and a structured meal plan together to lose weight before my reunion in june, which is as good a reason as I just don't feel comfortable in my skin anymore. I have no…

Losing Weight Sucks, but Not Losing Weight sucks even more
I hate "dieting". I love when people tell me I look like I've lost weight, but I also hate that they noticed I was fat in the first place. I hate that I was fat in the first place. Now, before you decide to fat shame me, let me tell you my story. I am 5'4 and currently at 170 lbs. In my 20's I was 140, always trying to be…

Any other lapsed rollerbladers out there? Help cheerlead me to finding what I love.
so I bought rollerblades a month ago and have been trying to get the courage to get on them. I used to blade 25 miles a day and it was very soothing. I started at Dartmouth and had this bucolic setting. But I remember the first time I went. I had saved up my dining services money for a month so that I could buy the damn…

Instead of thinking "why bother"...I now have hope
It took about 3 months for me to get the courage to get on the scale. I knew it would be bad. My clothes were ill fitting, even the largest ones. When I did and saw that I had about 70 lbs to lose....I thought the number was so insurmountable that why bother. Then I started walking. And I told myself...if you can just go…

Aria Scale Strategy with MFP
I have a love/hate relationship with my aria scale. It's great when i am just starting out - or if I'm afraid of what the scale might say. I just put a post-it note over the window and weigh myself and then i don't check it for a week. After a week's time, i look at the chart and see...oh, that wasn't so bad. I'm still…

I think I have become much less annoying since discovering MFP.
Finally, a place where I can rant, obsess and analyze my food and exercise without annoying all of my co-workers, Facebook friends, and family.

30 home sessions of pilates- Challenge?
So, i bit the bullet and joined a gym. i need to get back into lifting, but i find that i don't enjoy ab work as much as i like my favorite pilates video. In it, she promises that some day, i'l touch my leg to the floor over my head. i have never gotten it better than a 80 degree angle, but i do know that it works. So i…

Does it still count as baby weight when the baby is 5?
Ugh! I have been at it for a month and have lost weight...but I still look like I am pregnant. Anyone else have this weird thing where a bunch of fat cells seem to grow underneath your c section scar? It's driving me nuts! Anyway, new friends are welcome.

New 30 session challenge!

What if it doesn't work? Thoughts on Fat-shaming
So I started my journey back towards health about a month ago. I've had weight issues (or perceived weight issues) since I was in high school. I would kill to be my college weight. Of course, i thought i was overweight then too. But my BMI never was "overweight" until i had several surgeries on my knee and foot, and one of…

I'm not some '50's housewife.
Over the past year, I have been going through a bunch of stuggles, loss of family members, attempted suicide in one family member, dog cancer, a less than supportive boss, and 50 hour work weeks. I have barely had the energy to get up and go to work, much less workout. Also, my husband has a very flexible job and spends…

Starting again, and need cheerleaders
Hey guys. So, i've started again. I have my sister's wedding in a month, and i'm am already past thinking that I'll look ok in the pictures. After all, it's not MY wedding. So i needed to stop feeling like it wasn't worth even starting. Really, I was just reluctant to give up food again and the social things that being…

So it's working.
I am looking at my weight loss charts and have lost 15-18 lbs (up 3 lbs today??? Wtf). And 4 inches off my waist. So why do I get so depressed when I am up on a random day? Also, this is right about the time that I have stopped the last 3 times. Need help and support to get beyond this wall, I can do this. Right?

It is working!
Slowly but surely. Once again, the oatmeal with the flax seed and millers bran makes all of the difference.

Whoa, the food is not bad
I spent the first year on medifast eating only the bars and soy crisps. I lost so much weigh that 2 friends from work tried it and gave up. When the saw I was back on it, they gave me their foods. So far: love the oatmeal with 2 tbsp of flax seeds, 2 tbsp of wheat bran (not germ), a little Splenda and cinnamon. Love the…

So i tried the mac and cheese and it was ok....kindof a godsend now that i feel a little under the weather. What other meals are good? Someone said the chili? Is there anything special i need to do with it? RE: mac and cheese. someone said to heat the water before stirring it and let the mixture sit for 45 min. Anyone do…

The 2 AM Hungries
Here's a question for the group: sometimes i have awful insomnia. on those nights, i get hungry. sometimes i cant get to sleep without eating something. I have trained myself not to give in unless i actually feel rumbles in my tummy. But on those nights when i really can't go back to sleep, or to sleep for the first time,…

Neat bangles idea
I don't remember who suggested this, but I bought 6 bangles for my wrists. I am going to move them from one arm to the other as I eat my 6 meals through the day. It's my present to myself for sticking to the plan for 35 days. So, a little splurge. If you want to see them, they are on the Alex and ani web page. A got a…

Anybody else need fiber supplements with medifast?
I really hate the "medifarts". I tried miralax, and it was great because I could not tell it was there in my water bottle. but I guess you aren't supposed to use that more than once in a while. Are there others that don't get all goopy like Metamucil?
