Finally got a walk in today
I found I have a good place to walk. I am on a coastal road that goes uphill for about a mile, not sure, will have to drive it and make sure. But it was great and now it will be interesting to see if I start losing more inches. When I was cleaning houses even 2 times a week is when I lost the 4 inches and 4 lbs. Here's to…

Anybody else have a hard time when they are in boring
situations, like training classes? I eat more just because I'm bored and sitting. I took a walk 2 days in a row now and hope I will keep that up but not losing lbs or inches this week:( grrrrrrrrrrr:noway:

Haven't deserted the ship;)
It was a long weekend even though it was just Sat. & Sun. out of town. I am glad to be home and getting back into my routine. I don't believe I went over my cals. but probably the opposite. My focus is going to be getting some exercise this week, weird work hours or not. They've moved me to another facility to finish my…

I am getting burn out
from too much work, moving into a new place and not eating like I have been. Not eating too much necessarily but from 5 meals to 2 or 3. Still drinking my water but know I am getting off-track. I don't feel the hours they are having me work are going to work for me and it scares me. 1pm to 9:30. I can't sleep in past 5:30…

Really lost track this weekend with moving
I burned tons of calories and the only thing I did right was eat a lot of protein and, I guess, enough water. I couldn't do that every day. I am beat up and stressed. I like the 5-6 meals a day and light exercise for me. I want to be toned and a good weight for my size. I really felt I almost overdid the moving thing. I…

Moving day!
I am glad to be moving for more then one reason. It's an easy move, one truck-load, plus what's left in my sister car. 99% of what I own is in boxes, small boxes and easy to carry. But the bending, stretching and walking back and forth(half uphill)for probably 2 hours is going to be great exercise. For me, give me that…

Wow, way better this time around!
I'm down another lb and 2 inches in my waist. I really hope to encourage folks. Especially those that were here before like me, and now coming back to MFP. It is going so much better as I didn't have to learn all over again how to lose fat and shape up. I have a long way to go(for me)but it is going, that's the main thing.…

Some good info for anyone who is confused about eating
enough or not enough food in regards to their work-out routine or lack thereof. Best wishes to all, denise A post I saved from a year ago. Very interesting and informative in my opinion:) The following is the article by BANKS............I still see many people that are confused or "question" the idea of eating your…

I've got the food intake handled
pretty well although with being in training at a new job, I don't have a lot of appetite(or at least am not interested in spending much time putting something together). I have been using Fred Meyer Deli to fill in the blanks. My work hours are 1pm to 9:30 and I manage to get in a good breakfast, but can't eat a lunch…

Calling all Men, the older the better, LOL!!
I am looking for men that might share a days meal with me that are over 50, 60, 70 years old. My sisters friend is really working at the weightloss thing and he is 78. I just love him and he now walks 3 laps of the school track about 5 or more times a week. He couldn't walk a whole block without resting the first day about…

down another inch this weekend
I feel like I've pigged out but stayed close to my calories. Eating the fuel I need is making sense more and more to me:) I feel like writing a book called "I starved my way to obesity". No, I haven't ever gotten as far over weight as some but it was too much for my frame. Eating less calories never got me to a healthy…

My new Comfort Zone
I ate a donut with the gang at work yesterday and it was 400 calories!!!!! :drinker: :drinker: :drinker:  :blushing: But I'm not beating myself up:flowerforyou: What is so wonderful about the things I've learned on MFP is that we can have treats and not deny/deprive ourselves. I just allow for those "extra" calorie…

I'm back on MFP and hopeful I can get back to where I was
Hi all, maybe a few around that will remember me. I was here most of last Winter. I hurt one knee, near as I can tell, runners knee but never was able to get a docs diagnosis. It has not healed but I no longer walk the 4.2 miles I loved to walk so much. I feel that the injury was due to poorly build shoes and possibly…

Surprised at the calories burned just cleaning house:)
but I will be starting to do some weight training as I want to firm up as I lose. I have one knee I have to be careful with but there are plenty of things I can do, especially swimming which I love. But as far as weights, I can join a gym close-by and just easy does it;) I am 57 and I know I need to be careful but I am…

OMG!
I've lost 3 inches in my bellybutton waist and 3 inches in the smallest part of my waist!!! In 6 days! I have been staying below my calories and drinking about 4 glasses of water a day but could that just be water-weight? I was at 140 lbs but don't have a scale. I have been cleaning house/offices on just 2 of those 6 days,…

Greer Childers books and info, has anyone succeeded
with her stuff? I just came across her video(one of)and also "actually" got caught up in an infomercial. Would really like some feedback but only if you have tried her suggestions and succeeded or failed with it. Everyone has opinions but I really am looking for "first hand info":) Thanks all, Denise

I couldn't get with this again after nearly a year away.....
well, something like that. But now I found out many of my highschool friends are gathering this Summer and I want to look good. Vanity, a great motivator if that's all you can muster, LOLLLLL!!! Deep down though(well, not so deep really)I do want to feel good about me. I am not enjoying aging but it has to be done, LOL! I…

Would like to hear from folks that
have had or have "overuse" issues from working their jobs or other reasons. I am back in a gym and doing my basic workout. I want to do my cardio and then my weight-training but there is no one there a lot of the time to help with suggestions. For example, I have used my right arm so much in my work that I have pain in it…

Back again and still at "ugly" 140
and hating growing older as well as fat:( So I have found a good, 40 hour week job, a place of my own and now I am looking in the mirror again, yuck. I am single and don't even think about ever dating again(I'm 57)because of the age thing as well as the fat, out of shape bod. So quit complaining and do something about it,…

I NEED A LIFE AND FRIENDS, HEP ME, SOMEBODY HEP ME, LOL!!!
I just got a friend request from someone who lives near me. This means soooooo much to me as I have practically become a hermit. NWfamilygal is one of my best friends and she is next door but I am thinking it would be nice to find more gals in our area to form a team/gang, LOL! Anyone from Medford area that sees this, and…

Anyone here do the low glycemic type foods?
I lost 10 lbs eating what is basically a balanced diet according to the FDA. I am wondering about the multi grains that I don't eat as much of now because they are high on the Glycemic index. I really think my gaining all the weight back and then some was because of too many calories(no matter if they were low glycemic or…

I learned the hard-way, for me personally
not to do the same repetitive exercise over and over. I blew out my knee by walking 500 miles in 5 months. Oh I lost the weight, but because I didn't vary my exercise, I have to quit walking altogether and learn to do other things, also, things that wouldn't make my knee worse. I really went into a slump because I couldn't…

so hard to come back
and start over. Plus the fact I weigh 6 lbs more than I did in the first place. I was 137, got down to 127 and then blew out my knee from overuse. So then, slowly but surely I gave up watching my calories, got hooked up with a low glycemic diet(which I still think is very good)where I wasn't taught to count my calories,…

Anyone else working the PACE program
I would love to hear from you. This is just an outstanding workout and I love all I get to eat, LOL!!! Denise I'd really like to find out if there is anyone around here that tried the exercise and eating style and actually gained weight? I admit to being a little concerned that I might but what I read from folks that are…

I'm not new gals and guys but I wanted to post here first
because I have not been active for way too long. I want to be back here and get my physical well-being back on track, which helps with all other of my "beings" LOL!! Denise in Sams Valley OR PS I am posting more but it will be under Support and Motivation. I think some of my story needs to be there hopefully to help others…

anyone else having problems
entering recipes and choosing to save them in database, and you go back to see if they are in the database and they're not?? I've done it twice today and I am getting frustrated:noway:

wow, nwfamilygal got me started on "Walk Away the Pounds"
today and what a great workout!!! Didn't notice any pressure on my bad knee either. Also have a bike to ride so now i'll have 2 different types of calorie burning exercises. I love the stretches and the bands are amazing at working the muscles, geeeeeeeeeeesh!!! I highly recommend it. I never worked as hard walking 4.2…

ok fitness warriors:)
I need a list of the best calorie burning exercises, tried and true, that you gals and guys have found? As my other post mentioned, I out of the walking for atleast enough time to see if my knee will go back to normal. Someone mentioned bicycling which sounds great to me but I want to make sure there isn't too much…
