Healthy food expensive
Why is this? I have a gluten intolerance, so I notice when I buy gluten free stuff, it's always more expensive than the normal kind. Also you can buy ramen noodles for less that a $1, but fresh fruits & veggies, not so much. I went to whole food today for the first time and everyone warned me it was going to be expensive…

Sexy/hott or beautiful?
Ladies, which would you rather be called? Personally, I'd love to be called beautiful. I don't get that one very often. It's the most important one to me and what I wish I could be. To me, there is a difference. Beautiful is the best one to be.

Newbie gains?
How long does this last? And as a women, can you really put on significant muscle eating a deficit with these newbie gains? I've heard it's hard for a woman to gain muscle even when eating a surplus, so I would assume that we wouldn't get much out of these newbie gains. I haven't gotten much insight on this though. Can…

Does height really matter when...
configuring how many calories you should eat? I always thought weight was the important factor. I mean, I get that 140lbs looks different on someone who is 5'5 as opposed to someone who is 5'. 140 is healthy for someone 5'5, but not for someone 5'. BUT isn't 140lbs, just 140lbs no matter who it is on? I mean, the 5'5…

It's harder to get very defined abs if....
you have a longer torso. Also if you're an hourglass. I saw several people saying this in a post I read. I wouldn't say I have long torso, but it's longish. My legs are still longer, but my torso definitely isn't short at all. And I'm an hourglass shape. I have wondered why I never saw any hourglass shaped women with very…

How much weight to start out on?
I have been doing 3 sets 5 reps recently on my on, waiting til after the holidays to start stronglifts. I've been hitting failure at 5 tho. From what I read & someone told me, I shouldn't be failing in the beginning. So what percent should I start at? Seems I read 50% at some point.

Very new & lots of questions
I've read the summary. I don't have an Olympic bar. Mine came with my bench & weighs like only 5lbs. It's REALLY light & I weighed it haha. With that said, how much weight do I need too use for warm up? Also, where do I start at weight wise in the actual exercise? I can NOT deadlift 95lbs. I'm just confused & a real newbie…

Would bulking/cutting be good for me? *PIC HEAVY*
I'm 5'5 121lbs roughly, havent weighed properly in almost 2 weeks. So this is pretty much what I look like. I have no idea what my body fat % is. This is my exercise schedule. One of my lifter friends on here put it 2gether for me & then I added in the walking just to make myself more active cuz I stay at home all day.…

Question for people who have abs..
Could you see them before they started to show up in pictures? I swear I can see mine, but they're just barely there, still got some fat to get rid of & they won't show in a pic, but I see at least two of them, sometimes 3 haha Am I delusional?

Is eating seafood very often ok?

Difference between barbells & dumbbells?
I've always wondered this. Can any1 tell me this? And when you use dumbbells, can you really add the 2 numbers together and say you're doing tht much? I feel like you really can't on some moves, like the overhead press/bench/rows, cuz ur arms aren't getting the full. Like if you use 2 15s, ur arms are only getting the work…

Just because u r short, does not mean u must starve.
I think it's a misconception that you have to eat very little to lose weight, even if you are short. But I dont think that is true at all. Your calories should be more based on your weight in my opinion. Because a person who is 5'10 & 170 will burn the same as someone who is 5'2, 170 (that is if they're on the same…

Thinking about maintaining but....
I'm really nervous about it. Can I still lose inches and body fat while maintaining? I am lifting, 3 days a week. Doing the compound lift: bench press, overhead press, Bent over Row, Squat and Deadlift. I'm 5'5 and weigh 122.8lbs. I feel like I still have fat arms and I have a belly too, love handles, fat back & upper…

Fat and curves are NOT the same thing
This is something I see often. Women don't want to get too low because they're afraid they'll lose their 'curves' If their curves are indeed fat, then yes they will b lost. But truly curvy women will keep their curves. Curves are dependent on ur bone structure, not ur fat or weight. My waist is 8.5in smaller than my hips…

Made it 2 my original goal, 60lbs down *PICS*
When I first started losing weight, it wasn't a very important part of my life. My friend actually talked me into it. She wanted to lose and wanted a buddy. I think it took about a week of begging and I finally said yes. After stepping on the scale a second time to see the numbers falling, I was hooked. In the beginning, I…

Are my calves too small? *PICS*
I've had people call my calves twigs and tell me they look so fragile, like they would break easily. DO they really? I think they're disproportionately small to my thighs *sigh* How do I change this? I already lift weights, my routine is on my profile. I just finished up my 1st week of it. Here are some pics.

Question for the lifters ab cardio

I don''t what I wanna do 2moro, but I was wondering if it was ok to go light on cardio? I was told by a person who seems to kno…

Going under BMI? *PICS*
Right now I'm I'm 5'5 125.2lbs. My BMI is 21 I believe. I'm still fat, My BF% is 28.4 per calipers. It might be even more. Dont you have to lose weight to lower ur BF%? I know gaining muscle can lower it, but my BF% is too high to try a gaining phase. I'll gain a lot of fat like that and I can't handle something like that…

Replacements for buns?
I've recently went gluten free due to the fact that I think I've developed an intolerance to it. I like to eat turkey burgers and I've used lettuce as a replacement for a bun, but it tastes to bland. Any other gluten free options?
