HEY!!!
I joined here in January of this year and started of really well. However, February my hubby had a week off work and I struggled to get back on track. Then in April we had a major decision to make about whether we wanted to keep going with the fertility treatments and for three month I didn't know where we were headed. I…

Fell of the wagon but now I'm back!
Hey, I'm not new, I joined in December and started January but these last few months have proved to be rather difficult. I have undergone a lot of changes in my relationship and my future has completely changed for my hubby and I. I lost my motivation, my reason for changing my lifestyle and why I wanted it. Hubby and I…

The BEST thing said, done etc.
There are a lot of threads about the 'worst' thing you have had said to you, done etc so I thought it would be nice to have one about the best things said or done. The best moment in my life so far was opening the front door to my new house in Northern Ireland, a place where no one knew me an I could start from fresh.

Calling all 5ft9 + Ladies
Are there any other ladies out there that are tall like me? Most threads I come across, the women tend to be more petite at 5ft-5ft3. I am 5ft9 and my goal weight is to be 149lbs, puts me at a BMI of 22. How about all you other tall ladies?

Chances for debates are high, please read with caution.
Whilst studying I came across an interesting question. (Law in the UK if anyone is wondering.) "A person stabs a woman who is pregnant. The woman survives but the child is born prematurely and later dies as a consequence. Should the culprit be convicted of unlawfully killing another human being?" Whist typing up my…

Aching Calves
Hey everyone, hope everyone is proud of themselves. Anyway, I gather this has already been approached but after looking I can't seem to find any information that is specific enough to the answers I require. Anyway, I have been working out now for three months and this last month I have joined a gym, going four-six times a…

Exercise for Dummies
Hey, First of all, I am a complete IDIOT when it comes to exercise/fitness machines so please bare with me. I plan on joining a gym in the next month or two but for the moment it's not an option. Right, my question: What is the difference between an elliptical and a cross trainer? Like I say, I am a COMPLETE IDIOT with…

Starter ideas?
Hi, This Friday is my husbands 27th birthday and I'm cooking dinner for four. I have a beautiful main and dessert but I am struggling to think of a starter. I do have a back up plan for a starter however. Does anyone have any ideas about what I can do? It cannot have any fish, nor can it be soup.

RANT - Not looking for suggestions, just need to rant.
I had a 'friend' whom I introduced to MFP. Helped her with signing up, filling out her profile etc. This was all done between Christmas and New Year, the same time I joined. She logged her foods (completely underestimating calories) and complained she wasn't losing weight and convinced herself it was because she didn't…

Swimming
I don't have a heart rate monitor and I'm going to go for a swim, I'll do laps and I'll do it for about 30 minutes. Does anyone know roughly how many calories that would burn and/or a good tool I could use to get the amount? (I'm 5ft9 and weigh 185lbs.)

5 DEADLY TERMS USED BY A WOMAN
(1) FINE- This is the word women use to end an argument when they know they are right and you need to shut up. (2) NOTHING - Means something and you need to be worried. (3) GO AHEAD - This is a dare not permission, do no do it. (4) WHATEVER - A woman's way of saying "Screw You". (5) THAT'S OK - She is thinking long and…

NSV - Not to do with weight
In November 2011 I finally quit smoking after 12 years of that nasty habit. It's been relatively easy for me until last night. I had a huge argument with my MIl which had been coming for a long time and I just blew up. I then spent most of the night wanting to go for a smoke because that's what I did to 'relieve stress'. I…

Grocerys in UK
I have always done my grocery shop a Tesco, a monthly shop online and bits and bobs when I want it at the store. Anyway, my hubby was browsing and came across www.mysupermarket.com. I decided this month to do our monthly shop through them and I am VERY pleased I did. Unless I plan on using it within 72 hours of delivery, I…
