Little tale of inspirtation and motivation
Thursday and Friday were CRAZY busy for me. I am the PTA VP and I was in charge of our Chili Cook-Off, so lots of last minute prep work plus the event itself, mixed in with a fast and heavy snow for good measure. Thursday I was so wore out from a sick kid at home, running last minute pick-ups for the event, and being up…

Jumping back on the wagon.
I started my journey a year ago, but got lost along the way about 6 months in. I did great at maintaining till the kids went back to school and gained back 10 of what I had originally lost. New year, new day and back to work. Being gone for awhile I have lost most of my friends on here, please feel free to add me,…

Water
Found this posted on facebook, was cruising the web to see if most of the points had truth behind them, regardless, drinking water is always a lot better than drinking junk. Keep yourselves hydrated as the summer months approach. Tried three times to resize, but photobucket is being crazy and kicking me out after resizing.

Half way to my first goal
Today marks my 50th day on MFP. I have had many NSV. I have road a bike more in the last 2 months, than I have in the last 15 years. I started running. Today I went to get pants from the thirft store and can button a pair of pants that is 2 sizes down from where I started (although they didn't look that great, but…

Ladies, curious
I have had issues with my period since I had my girls 3 years ago, it isn't always on schedule. Well since I started exercising it's like it hasn't ended. I had my period regularly, was even on schedule, then a week later I started spotting again, that lasted about a week. Now it is 4 days before I am due to have my period…

Great Coffee Alternative
I just bought some STASH decaf tea yesterday in chocolate hazelnut. It taste WONDERFUL. I rarely drink tea with sugar in it anyway, but always have to have sugar and flavored creamer in my coffee. I drink this straight, and as it cools a little more flavor comes out. I also like regular lipton french vanilla, I make that…

Heart Rate Monitor
Does anyone have a Pellor HRM, and which one, and would you recommend it? Do you recommend another brand? I am looking for a cheap HRM to start out with. Really don't have a lot of money to waste on one, so want the most for my money.

Any good workout websites with free videos.?
I can't really afford a gym membership right now, nor do I want to spend money on a bunch of videos. Any good resources out there for a good exercise routine. I get outside and bike when ever I can, but this is Ohio, and you never know from day to day what the weather is going to be. Today it is raining, and well 30…

Need some friends to help me stay motivated and coming back
I'm 30, from Ohio, have 5 kids. I'm a stay at home mom, very active in my kids' school. I have always been heavy (high school graduation was 235) My smallest was 140, which was when I was about 4 months pregnant with my son, weight wasn't lost in the correct manner, lack of time to eat when I was in school, and then…

Saw a Previous Post about BMI and inaccuracy
So I went looking for a website with more accurate calculators. I found one that will even get you a list of dates if you ate certain amount of calories per day without exercise. It also did Body Fat % based on several different calculators (Marine, Army, Navy, YMCA) If anyone is hitting a slump or just wants to know the…

2lbs away from 20 and going strong
Just wanted to thank all the people on MFP for helping keep me motivated. My success isn't nearly as big as some other on here, but I know I can do it. 20lbs is only 1/4 of what I want to lose, but this site has been such a great tool. I have been heavy my whole life, topping out at 235. Before I started this journey I was…

3 weeks and counting
I am loving MFP. This is the first time I have stuck to any sort of fitness program for more than a week. I feel good, and I am seeing progress. So far 13lbs, and my next weigh in is tonight. The greatest thing is it is not only benefitting myself. We were a heavy pop drinking house, and have had no pop in the house now…

Some days I just can't intake enough calories
I am sitting here, 8pm, and still have 500 calories. I just went in to make a healthy smoothie with fresh fruit and yogurt, drank a little of it, but not hungry, and really don't want it. Anyone else have days where you are watching what you eat, so you aren't eating junk, but at the same time really aren't hungry anyway…

Funny advertisements for a weightloss community
Anyone else find it funny that they are advertising for Papa Johns over there> I know this is a free site and they have to make the money from selling advertising space, but I don't think that is very motivating to sticking to a healthy diet to see such evil temptation. What are some things that are keeping you motivated?…

I'm new, any good tips?
How do you calculate your water. Is it only water? Do you use the 15 calories or less? I drink mostly water, but to break the plainess have a few glasses of unsweetened flavored tea. So would I count the tea as part of my water intake since it has 0 calories. Also what are a few of your big milestones? I haven't lost much…

Anyone have issues with how they calculate calories burned?
My kids' school is located on a circle so after doing what needed to be done with dropping them off and PTA stuff me and another volunteer go and do a few rounds around the circle (approx. 1 mile each) Today was 2 laps at 40 minutes so I put in my exercise walking at 3mph for 40 minutes. I came home with my two youngest…

Mommies out there, can you relate to my issue?
I had extreme nausea, vomiting with both of my pregnancies. With my son (almost 9) I threw up for 8 months everyday, multiple times. Afterward I got nauseas everytime my stomach was empty, eventually it went away. With my twin girls (now 3) I finally got to the point in my pregnancy where I was eating every 2 hours, even…
