PMS stomach upset diet
every month right before my period I get terrible stomach cramps and just a nauseous feeling, which I usually alleviate by eating a ton of carbs (cake, crackers, bread). Even though i'm not actually CRAVING those foods, they temporarily make my stomach feel a little better. Does anyone have any suggestions for foods that…

strength training and weight gain
every time I start going to the gym and lifting, I notice that I generally am hungrier and then the scale will consistently read 2-3 lbs up compared to before when I was doing solely cardio. this has been going on for 2 weeks now, and my measurements have stayed the same. I know my calorie intake has increased by 200-300…

lifting induced stomach upset :(
sometimes when I go to the gym and lift weights my stomach will start to feel kinda light and funny, definitely off, borderline nausea. i can usually push through it, it occurs a lot of the time if i'm holding my breath and straining to do a lift without noticing. however, today this happened and after I drank my protein…

feeling sick...
I feel lethargic and sick to my stomach if I try to eat less than 1600-1700 calories daily for more than a couple days. Everything that takes effort makes me feel nauseous and I get really tired, but my sleep schedule starts to become erratic as well. I lift weights 4+ times a week, run, and play volleyball. Even though I…

true weight?
I moved to college at the end of august and i've "gained" about 3.5 lbs. I've started to lift weights and my calorie intake increased so i know some of the weight increase has been due to muscle, but i have also been eating at a calorie deficiency so that I should technically losing weight. I don't eat a lot of fried fatty…

3 lbs overnight!?
so i got on the scale this morning and it read 130 lbs... i was definitely just at 127 a day ago, how could this happen?! i am fairly active, walking 5+ miles a day plus volleyball or weight training. I have been extra hungry lately so i've been eating close to 2000 calories a day, but my fitbit and mfp are telling me that…

nonstop hunger days!
have you ever had one of those days where you feel like you could eat the planet!? no matter how much i eat i will not get full. i drink water in between and let myself mentally digest, but i feel as if the food doesn't even register in my stomach and i just process it that fast. is it possible that some days my metabolism…

eating back calories
my goal is to lose body fat. i'm a college freshman on a hilly campus, and my fitbit tells me i can eat up to 800 extra calories every day to make up for the amount i'm burning walking everywhere. to lose one lb per week i should be netting 1370. however i am hungry all the time and usually eat around 2000 a day. can i…

trusting my fitbit...
obviously the fitbit one isn't 100% accurate, but today it told me that after walking 4+ miles i have burned 2117 calories today and that my exercise calories in MFP are 453. which means after eating about 1580 calories today, i have 170 left to eat from fitbit's calculations! up until now i have tried to underestimate my…

new fitbit
i just got my fitbit in the mail, and after i set it up it said that i have already burned 1258 calories today- even though i havent worn its at all yet! is this calculation based off of my bmr, and just displaying the amount it has calculated i have burned based on what time it is and how much my bmr is?

starbucks iced coffee vs iced latte
so a starbucks iced unsweetened coffee made with nonfat milk (as listed online) is 25 calories w/ 2 g of protein. an iced unsweetened latte made with nonfat milk is 90 (MFP, 130 listed online) with 12 g of protein. whats the difference between an iced coffee vs an iced latte that makes them differ in calories, and which…

"starvation mode" and other questions
17 yr old female, 127 lbs, 5'6. is there any way i'm in starvation mode if i'm netting about 1350 calories a day (so with my exercise i'm eating up to 1800 calories a day total)? my bmr is about 1400 and i want to lose body fat but gain muscle. am i actually not eating enough? i'm constantly hungry but i'm forcing myself…

HELP- food obsession
i am seriously obsessed with food. from the moment i wake up to literally the seconds before i sleep i'm thinking about what i ate, will eat, planning my food diary. I spend free time looking up the calorie counts of various foods and trying different meal combinations to fit them in my food diary. i am constantly waiting…

does being hungry mean that you're burning?
I have a lot of friends who are very physically active and athletic, and whenever I hang out with them, they're constantly hungry. They definitely eat more than the average person, so I know they're not just binging when we're together. I read somewhere that hungry people are always hungry because their active muscles are…

long distance running is bad, and HIIT?
i just heard the other day that marathons and long distance runs are not that good for the body! after all, the first marathon runner (who would have had to have been a well conditioned runner to have the job that he did!) died immediately after reaching his destination. how long does a run need to be for it to be…

is being skinny worth it?
really, is it worth all the time and effort that women put into eating foods they don't really love, exercising when they'd rather not, and just not being truly happy to be "skinny?" what do men/women really think about skinny women, and what do you women think about society and feeling like you must achieve a certain body…

leaving frozen dinner out?
is it safe to eat a frozen meal like leancuisine if it's been thawing out all morning? it would be convenient if i could take one to school, leave it in my car for 5 hours during classes, then cook it and eat it for lunch, but would thawing it out for that long affect it?

is this normal?
i'm obsessed with food and i'm obsessed with counting calories, but this is the weird part. i spend all of my free time on food review and recipe blogs, but i never eat anything i see. i bake sweets all the time, but i will rarely eat them or any other dessert. i'm literally attached to MFP and i count calories to the…

net calories vs total calories
so on other weight loss sites like livestrong or just general articles, i frequently read things like "athletes should eat 1500-1700 calories daily" or other things along those lines. Does this mean that i should be eating 1500-1700 calories daily total, or my net intake should be that much?
-
net calories vs total calories
if i'm told that i need to eat 1400 calories a day to lose 1 lb per week, does that mean i need to eat 1400 calories every day TOTAL (even with a 2 hour sports practice that burns about 275 calories) or i have to eat a net of 1400? does "eating back" exercise calories hurt?
-
overeating vs mfp calorie goal
I've noticed that on days that I overeat, like 300-400 calories above the MFP goal calories, my weight doesn't change overall throughout the next week; sometimes I even lose weight. however, if i follow the Mfp goal calories, my weight will either plateau or even gain. Why does this happen? is this related to having a…

will a day of indulging and no exercise be bad?
i usually eat pretty well, balancing healthy and indulging under 1400cal/day. i play a sport 5 days a week, 2+ hour practices. i've been losing weight overall, but what happens if on one day of the week i decide to eat to enjoy food (aka go over my calorie limit by 400+) and not exercise at all? i know it takes 3500 cal to…
