Brand New Flex Owner
Hello everyone! I opened up my new Fitbit Flex today (very excited) and noticed it counted steps when I was placing it into the wrist band. I'm a little concerned with the accuracy since this my very first impression of the Flex. Also, are there any other Fitbit users worried that the clasp will come undone and you'll lose…

Fitbit Flex
I have a question for anyone who has experience with the Fitbit Flex. I received one as a white elephant gift but haven't opened it yet. Truthfully I'm skeptical on how accurate this version is. Does anyone have any experience they can share?
-
Sushi
I have been on a sushi binge for about two months now. I didn't think I would even like it because I always thought raw fish sounded foul, no pun intended. Does anyone have an opinion about the nutritional value about sushi? I don't know that much about it except the mercury levels are something to watch.

Watery Drinks
When you log your drinks, such as the "Crystal Light"/mixtures, do you input the water separately and then add the "Crystal Light mix" or just log it like you would coffee, tea or any other water based drink?

Electronic VS the Old Fashioned Paper kind
Electronic version or old fashioned paper with binding? (I grew up old school but I'm finding the electronic books interesting.) Any thoughts?

Popular Websites
Hey everyone, Since this is an internet driven world, I was curious to know what websites people choose to spend the majority of their off-time on. I wonder what interesting websites are out there that I don't know about because there's too many and not enough time. (No need to mention MFP, since we're obviosly community…

HRM vs FITBIT vs NIKE Fuel Band vs Jawbone UP, the list goes
Hey, need advise, as there are too many choices out there.... Originally, I was considering the HRM (polar, timex, new balance, etc.), but now the list of choices is overwhelming. I've read where the HRM that do not have a chest strap are just too unreliable and some of the Iron Man's are faulty. Can anyone provide a…

Daily Tip for Today (#54)
(on the Less is More Philosophy....) Don't stray from My Fitness Pal or any other resource where it's making a difference in your life. If you find something that works for you, stick to it. Don't waste your time with things that are harmful to you. :flowerforyou: .

Cooking with ingredients
When you cook with butter, do you add that amount when logging your food in, even when most of it is discarded? I cooked my seafood in butter but strained it. Same with cooking with wine and spices. Do you log that in, as well? .

Protein Shakes for Meal Replacements
My 17 year old son is into nutrition big time. He's successfully bulking up the healthy way and he's trying to talk me into trying some of the protein shakes (but not for meal replacement). I am trying to go a step further by researching meal replacement shakes because I know people who have used them and been successful…

Tear Jerkers as Stress Relieve
Sometimes when I have negative energy to release (and can't get to the gym or find an aerobic way to get it out), I'll choose to watch a sad movie, just to boo who over. After the movie is over, I'm fine. Some scenes are just so powerful. What scenes get to you (or touch your heart), no matter what state of mind you're in?…

Iron Chef - Mis-Matched Combinations
Husband and I were joking about our daughter not wanting to eat any of our snow crab legs because she just ate some junior mints. That got us thinking about some of the odd food combinations they make sometimes on TV, especially on the Iron Chef America - such as ICE CREAM made with anything SEAFOOD. Ugghhh, the thought of…

I've been absent...
My apologies to everyone, especially in the Dewars group. Busiest time (work wise) is end of month and this month nearly killed me. Should be back on track with MFP by tomorrow evening. ~katie

GONE - the new movie
Does anyone know anything about this movie? My 14 year old wants to see it with her friend and IMDB doesn't have anything listed in the Parental Advisory section yet (movie is too new apparently). I need to know if there's inappropriate material in there, such as language and sexual situations. Thanks. ~katie

Matchbox Crab and Avocado Salad
Does anyone know how many calories are in this entree? I didn't eat mini little bread slices that came with it, so I think I did well, but I have no idea what to input for the calories for the rest of it... ~katie

Three wishes...
In MY perfect world, I would... 1) be able to sing like Karen Carpenter or Barbara Streisand... 2) be able to go back in time and change just a few things (but be very aware of the butterfly effect)... 3) cure cancer (serious, I have family members who've passed and/or gone through this terribly disease.) :flowerforyou:

Daily Tip for Today (#310)
SUPPORT. Support is one of the most important ingredients in any goal you may be striving for. It's as important as the equipment you use, or the planning you do. Right out of the gate, give yourself the advantage by surrounding yourself with people who are POSITIVE and can remain so, even in the down turns. Stick with the…

Weighing Food on a Mini Scale
I have now been logging in my food for over a month and a half, and it's been extremely helpful, I think. But recently, I've come across a problem in weighing the food, when it's not exactly in a certain amount of pieces or portions that I can eyeball easily. Does anyone else have this problem and does anybody use one of…

Daily Tip for Today (#686)
Top Heavy tip... Breakfast is a very important meal, try hard not to skip it. Even better, if you can eat most of your calories earlier in the day, as a breakfast combined with your mid-morning snack, you can take the rest of the day to burn it off, so it's not sitting there in your stomach, all night, digesting slowly.…

Daily Tip for Today (#912)
(Not sure if anyone does this yet or not, but...) Try logging your food in BEFORE you actually sit down to eat it, especially if you think it's a meal you may have trouble saying no to, portion wise. That way, if you see how many calories each item is and what the total calorie intake is ahead of time, it might help you…
