Doing This Again and Looking for Friends
About 3 years ago, I lost 100lbs. Things were going really great and then not so great. I maintained for a good 2 years and then put 60lbs on again. I started looking at this as a failing moment for a good while there, but then I decided that I needed to re-evaluate things and re-assess what needed to be done to get back…

Thank You, You Know Who You Are
I just wanted to take a moment to thank the MFP users that have helped me stay motivated and contributed to others' and my own success. With a compassionate personality, you have answered questions that seem simple in nature, but ones that have led to success in the long term. You have encouraged others by guiding them…

18 months maintaining 90+ lb loss
Maybe it is just something about the fact that I am hitting my year and a half mark of losing this weight and really discovering who I am that is making me reflect on things and want to encourage anyone that is wavering on that giving up cliff. I was the one that had every single excuse in the book. I worked too many hours…

I am all for challenging myself and would love to have others join in as well. How about 1,500 sit-ups or crunches for the month of September, which is 50 a day or more if you would like? Just come back in check in when you do them.

Smaller of the real stuff or more of the healthy version?
I was wondering when it comes to food what people have a preference of doing....eating a smaller amount of the real/fattier food or making it over into the healthy version to be able to eat more of it. Such as subbing in a bowl of frozen yogurt with berries instead of a spoon of Chunky Monkey.

Favorite food from your city
I was wondering what everyone thinks is best from their city when it comes to food. Down here in Atlanta I must admit that nothing is better than Sublime Donuts...the Heath one that is. What is in your city that you absolutely love?

What's for breakfast today???
Usually I try to keep breakfast all healthy with fiber filled cereal and fruit or an egg with light cheese, but (gasp) I decided to eat a glazed donut today. It was worth the half hour I will have to spend on the elliptical later today. So what is on the menu today?

What is your trigger
For the most part I stick within my cals and eat healthy foods...although I do splurge occasionally. I do find that if I eat certain foods it is very difficult to not eat way to much of them. This would include: Cheez-its, Ritz Crackers and Brownies. What foods set you off?

Not a fairy tale ending, but a great realization
When I began my weight loss a little over a year ago I was in a place in life where I really thought that I was not living up to what I had planned out in my head of the perfect life. There had been domestic abuse and rape, a failed business and there still is a child with special needs. The thing that took me the longest…

I work from home part time so I have the…

Skinny fat vs.Skinny fit
This is a great explanation about why you need to eat enough calories- Skinny fat explained For example, let’s take two women who weigh the same, but one has a higher percentage of body fat. Female #1 – 120 pounds 25% body fat Female #2 – 120 pounds 15% body fat No one is going to say that either of these women is fat.…

What you have learned from a trainer
What are some of the things that you learned from working with a personal trainer? One of the best things my trainer taught me is that it is not how fast you go when you start running....speed will come with time, it is best to work at your distance first.

Food Police-Boldest Thing Said To You????
I was sitting at a restaurant yesterday and mentioned to a relative's girlfriend that I ate too many chips.....I take a bite of chicken after that and she turns to me and loudly states- "Stop eating that, what are you doing! Get her a box so that she won't eat anymore!" Note to self, do not mention to myself out loud that…

Anybody doing this alone in the real world?
I started losing weight a little over a year ago and have done pretty well going at it alone. Not so much alone, but there is no one really in my family or friends who is overweight that has to work at losing at all....well 1, but that is not going to happen. I started out barely able to walk a good mile without getting…

5 Things You Learned About Food
After changing how I eat for the past year these are some things I have learned. 1. Things do not taste better once they hit the deep fryer, actually a variety of seasoning and fresh produce are more satisfying to me and my waist. Think Cajun seasoned sweet potato wedges. 2. Carbs are not my enemy, but they are also not my…

Hello Summer
Living in Georgia is a whirlwind of weather changes.....one day 50 something and the next day 80 something, but I think that we are finally at the point where weather is great and warm. Time to pull out the grill and hit the farmers markets to cook up some local favorites. In the South that translates to corn, green peas,…

Grocery sales-why clear the entire shelf?
I must admit that I am on a budget and I like to shop the stores for sales and get good prices, but every time I go to the store to get something that is BOGO the whole shelf has been cleared by extreme couponers. It is petty to complain about this, but when I have to go several times to get the ONE item that I am looking…

I am starting Tapout XT next week and was wondering if there are any ladies out there that have done it and loved the results. If you have before and after pics that would be great.
