2 Protein Shakes or 1?
I do heavy lifting and I am currently 220lbs. Should I have 2 protein shakes or 1? Just asking since I know how important protein is for muscle growth and development.

Muscle Building help!
So I just was curious, besides protein what is another great building block for muscle building? I eat a fair amount of chicken and fish and I take a protein shake mix with water every day. Is there something else I am missing? Thoughts/opinions?

Upping Calories
I realize this post is infinite but I couldn't find one for my question. My BMR is 2243. I do 20 minutes of cardio a day as well as 30-40 minutes of weight training. I eat all day and snack and drink tons of water. Should I be upping my intake? Even if I don't feel weak or malnourished? Or should I incorporate more calorie…

Need a little clarity
So I bought a Heart Rate Monitor (HRM) and have been tracking my calories burned. I am 5'11 226lbs and 23 years old. My HRM says I burn about 500 calories doing 30 minutes of elliptical on very decent pace. I do weight training for about 30 minutes as well. I eat constantly all day and rarely feel hungry or weak. Am I…

Do you count water at gym?
I drink about 2-2.5 litres of water a day, and additionally I drink close to a litre at the gym but I do not count my water at the gym. Someone mentioned I should and someone mentioned I count half of it. Thoughts/opinions?

Motivation
I've recently read countless articles that state people who go overboard with exercise, a complete 180 in eating habits and exercise and eating similar meals for long periods of time make people eventually and apparently inevitably relapse. I have made a complete 180. From no water, poor poor diet, lack of exercise and…

I can't believe it was super healthy!
Today, I tried just a YVES veggie burger patty since I have never had one before, but wanted to try it. I am hooked. For dinner I had a veggie burger patty, 1/2cup brown rice, one tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and a can of green beans and pan cooked the beans. I feel SO full, it was less than 500 calories and it…

Half finished an interesting experiment...
I had bought a Heart Rate monitor watch as well as a chest strap. I believe it is quite accurate, so I decided to wear it since 10am this morning. It is now 10:19pm. Mon-Fri I go to the gym, so today is my rest day. I only went to the washroom and made meals today, wonderful day haha. I have burned 2462 calories. I am…

Am I REALLY burning this much?
I had purchased a SportLine Heart Rate Monitor with a chest strap and tried it at the gym today. In my watch I entered my weight, age, and height. I have felt my pulse with my finger to see how accurate the chest strap is, and its dead on my heart rate. I did the elliptical as normal today for 30 minutes. Currently I weigh…

Are Drastic Diets Bad?
about two weeks ago I used to eat a terrible amount. Cans of pasta, chips, pop, fast food, pizza pops and pretty much anything ungodly. I have now reversed my diet to zero bad food, tons of water, exercise, and proper sleep. Is this too much of a shock on someone? I'm in no way going to make some lame excuse and eat kind…

Same old same old.. opinions?
I happen to eat pretty much the same stuff every day. I have been for weeks and I quite honestly want to. It is all healthy and I never get sick of it. Once in a while I will change it up. I've heard a few aspects such as your body gets used to the same food over and over, but I've also heard that has been disproved and…

Simple message to new people
Take EVERYTHING you hear on this site with a massive grain of salt. It's great to hear people's opinions and what they have to say, what has and has not worked out for them. This forum is a great rough guideline. But do NOT listen to the people who directly tell you what to do and claim they know is best. Everyone is…

Calorie-burn confused PART 2
Yesterday I had posted that my Heart Rate Monitor (HMR) watch was reading differently than the elliptical machine at the gym. I decided to use my watch without the chest strap one last time, and I even switched to a different elliptical machine. The machine calculates heart rate constantly, so I tested something. I took my…

Looking for criticism
Could anyone provide me feedback for my diary? I've been keeping it accurate as of last thursday, let me know if any alarm bells go off!

Calorie-burn confused
I bought a sportline HMR watch for 70 bucks and I did the elliptical for 30 minutes today on a good speed. My heart rate average was about 150. The machine which also reads heart rate indicated I burned 420 calories for the workout and my watch indicated I only burned about 160 calories. MFP also estimates I burned 470. Is…

First NSV!
This may sound trivial to anyone, but this boosted my confidence I can reach my goal! I have been eating very well last two weeks and exercising and I beat my first unexpected challenge! I was invited to go for lunch at a restaurant I was familiar with with co workers to say goodbye to one who was leaving the area. This…

Measurements or pounds?
Would you rather see a loss in measurements, or pounds? I personally would rather see measurements they can't lie as the scale has lied to me for sure. Then again, I have seen numbers on that scale that made me equally happy. So which is it for you?

Advice on my journal!!
