What We're Eating
Autumn has fully arrived and I'm cooking about it. Breakfast: toaster waffles with yogurt butter and syrup, fried ham, coffee. Lunch: leftover chili with cheese, sour cream, and a few corn chips. I'm having a fairly small portion of this (it's... not at all "light"), so if I'm still hungry I'll have some broccoli, baby…

What We're Eating Weekly
I thought we'd try turning this into an ongoing thread -- a couple of people have asked about carrying on into Thursday, etc. and it seems like it could be fun to post each day. If it sucks, we can always go back to just making it a Wednesday thing! Today I'm having... Breakfast: a pre-grocery day odd assortment comprising…

What We're Eating Wednesday
It was a HECTIC morning here, pals. I'm hoping to get back on track during the rest of the day. I'm also trying to eat all of the stuff I've hoarded in the freezer and pantry, in preparation for an outrageous Trader Joe's trip next week -- the closest one is four hours away, so I never get to go. I'm planning to clean the…

What We're Eating Wednesday, inter-holiday edition

I'm looking forward to a good day of New Food! Breakfast: croissant with herbed Boursin, ham, coffee (with my favorite --…

What We're Eating Wednesday
Hello again! Anyone up for another round? Recommendations?
I just got a new car after years without one, which means I can travel outside my tiny town (which only has a Walmart, and a small one at that) for groceries. I'm going to a nearby, much bigger town on Friday, more or less to buy whatever I want. I'm not going for a staple grocery list, but purely for fun new things. What…

I blew it.
This is my second go-round here on MFP. In 2013 I lost almost 70 pounds and I felt so amazing -- I felt like I was in control of myself, my life, and my body. I could wear straight sizes for the first time in a decade, I didn't hate how I looked in pictures, and I was able to move freely in daily life and exercise…

Calories don't tally with macronutrients.
I bought some provolone cheese that claims to be 60 calories per serving, 5g fat, 5g protein. Is it me, or does that not add up? 5g fat is 45 calories; 5g protein is 20 calories; that alone should be 65 calories per serving, not counting any carbs from lactose. What am I missing? It's not a database error; this is the…

Actual iron!
Today, for the first time in my life, I pumped actual iron. I went to the end of the gym that usually intimidates me, I chose a barbell and plates, and I used them. I didn't worry about what I looked like. I grunted and puffed. I spent time getting my grip balanced without worrying that people were staring at the fat girl…

Help with calorie spreadsheet for weekly tracking
Can anyone set up or give me instructions for setting up one of those Excel spreadsheets that tracks daily consumption/goal/difference/expected loss to give a running total? I'm really working to maintain a weekly deficit right now, and I'm finding it hard to keep track with basic math -- clicking back over a week of days,…

Question about fountain drink flavor syrups
Okay, this is a weird one. I was tired of my usual diet Coke today (not a fan of how chemical-y it tastes from the gas station fountain) so I added a couple squirts of the fountain flavor syrups. I can't seem to find them in the database -- does anyone know what calorie range I'm looking at? I logged it as 1.5 servings of…
