Hello....Anyone out there...???
Hey there peeps! I am looking for friends to keep me motivated. I am 64, still work full time, love to cook, enjoy wine and entertain dinner guests. I am hitting a wall and need some MFP's to help peel me off that wall.

Whoa!, Wait, did I just see a 4?!!!!
It's been busy this week, too busy to really focus on consistently working out but I continued to monitor my eating and logging. This morning, I got on the scale expecting to see a bump up since I missed 2 days with no workout and to my surprise...I saw a bump down!!! I have been stuck on 135.6 for a while now and today I…

Come on Spring!
I don't know about the rest of you but I am ready for warmer weather. I do feel very fortunate and blessed to live in Arizona and not have to deal with all the ice and snow most of the country is dealing with but I really want to get outside and do more outdoor activities like biking and hiking. I miss the old me, just saw…

DOWN 10
Super excited this morning! I hit 136 pounds, down 10 pounds since I stared and I am so pumped. Not giving in to the weekend indulges this time. I know what I have to do and I need to stick to it. Open House all day so a lot of sitting and may not get my steps in and or work out. Dinner will be ready, I have prepared beef…

Give up or Give in during Lent?
In January we set New Year Resolutions. Mine was to lose weight and get back to healthy and strong. I'm still on board with this, slowly the weight is coming off and slowly I can see progress. Yesterday was Fat Tuesday, in Italy, we call it Carnevale. Oddly enough it was our Bunko night and we all chatted about a lot of…

Track your measurements
February has been a bit discouraging for me and I am so thankful this is not my first rodeo in weight loss. I need to keep reminding myself to not just look at the scale. It will fluctuate and I need to be mindful as to what I ate (splurged on) to make that happen. I have noticed my jeans and dress slacks are not as tight…

Stuck!
Super Bowl weekend was fun but I did manage to put on some weight. I was 138.5 before Super Bowl, Then up to140 Monday, down to 138.9 for the rest of this week and seem to be stuck. I think I'm stuck with eating too late and working during the day sitting at my desk. I'm going to have to figure a way to get some workout in…

Looking for friends and motivation
Hi Nicky. My name is Maria. I am 64 years old. My history: I was very fit, worked out all the time, built muscle, loved to bike, hike, workout at the gym, Zumba, HIIT, weights, machines...I did it all. Then I had a bad fall hiking. The fall end result was needing to have both hips replaced and can I tell you, LIFE…

2/10/23 and down 8 pounds
I have been keeping steady at 138.5 for the week. My aggressive goal to loose 10 by the end of January did not happen but loosing the weight slowly is more beneficial and steady. Working out just about daily, staying focused on the end result. My goal is be down to 125lbs by June 2023. I have also been implementing…

Finally past the 140 mark!
Good morning. I've been working hard, sore all the time. I ended my month of January loosing 6 pounds, 140.4 to be exact from 146. I noticed that I am going up and down in weight, mostly because of a few bad days of eating and eating late. As I get more dedicated, I measured the inches and found I am tightening up and…

Late night dinner effect
I am down 5 pounds and after working out, watching what I eat, I still seem to go up and down in weight. The major problem I believe is our late night dinners. Seems my day gets away from me, I realize I need to get my work out in, and before you know it we are eating dinner at 7pm. After dinner, I am pooped. Sitting,…

21 days and down 5 pounds!
I've read it takes 21 days to form a habit. I also read that today, January 19th is called quitters day. 91% of the people who set New Year resolutions fall off on the 19th day. I'm still on, doing my best. I had a few days of splurging during the 21 days but got right back on track. My focus is on my goal in health and…

Thank goodness yesterday is over
Yesterday was a little stressful. It always is on my eye appointment day. Eye seems to be doing better but not good enough. I ended up getting another shot and this time he went straight down instead of to the side. I was smart enough to get a little work out in on the rower yesterday before the appointment but was not…

Fun Day, junk day
I had a fun day yesterday, got a good work in on the treadmill and off to play golf with hubby. Needless to say, I over indulged at dinner. I had a sonoran chicken burger and fries, + a delicious martini. I weighed in this morning +1.9 pounds. Amazing how quick junk food can pile on the pounds. That was eye opening for me…

2 Weeks completed and 4 pounds down
Keeping up with this has been great. I'm excited about my progress and keeping FOCUS as a priority. Focus on me, one day at a time, one challenge at a time, one goal at a time. I have read and heard many times it takes 21 days to make a new habit stick and become a daily routine. I have completed 14, lost 2 pounds a week.…

Volume Eating...
I read somewhere on this site a bit about volume eating, filling up on fruits, veggies, instead of empty calories. The more I read, the more I learned it is basically the mediterranean diet. I purchased a cookbook, got on line to view some recipes and hit the grocery store. I grew up eating a lot of veggies, even with…

It's a GOOD Sore
I finally got my ifit app to work linked to my treadmill. I explored a couple new workout programs. One was a walking on a beautiful beach, nice warm up. I decided it was time to start some upper body training to build strength so I'm able to get up off the ground without much struggle. Holy crap! I used very light weight…

Goal Setting
It's the start of the 2nd week in January 2023 and I'm down 3 pounds. Off to a good start sticking with a workout of some sort each day and focused on getting in my 10,000 steps a day. Last week felt like most people are coming back from vacation/holiday mode. This week feels like it will get crazy. People have set their…

In A Funk Day
It's Sunday! I weighed in and dropped some weight, I should be happy right? I went to Church this morning and message was up lifting. I had so much fun yesterday with the grandkids. But, I have been in a funk from early this morning and I cannot shake it. What do you all do when you feel like blahhh?

Fun Day Planned with the Grandkids, keep FOCUSED!
Great work yesterday and back down to where I was a couple days ago! Now the challenge is to continue on the straight and narrow while the grandkids are over. Big day planned for the kiddos. MONSTER TRUCKS! I have never been to one of these, neither has my husband and not sure what to expect except for a lot of loud…

OOPS!
My lunch date with a client and later dinner date with my husband put me 1 pound up even after that great workout I did yesterday. I did not log the new weight because I know it will continue to fluctuate from day to day. I just need to remind myself that I am a petite women in my 60's and the weight does not come off as…

Don't let the day get away from you!
I managed to maintain my weight without going up and keeping my log in line. How is everyone else doing? Busy day planned out but will get another workout in so I do not go to far over. Lunch date with a client and not sure what to order so not throw me off. I've found eating salads are not always a good choice. Getting…

On A Roll...
I'm on a roll, down 3 pounds so far and now feeling a little sore. My shoulders and wrists are still aching from my fall last week. I want to start working my arms but afraid to really hurt myself. I purchased a 1 year subscription to ifit thinking that some of their workout programs will give me some inspiration and…

It's Tuesday, Day 5!
Good morning, and onto a new day. Yesterday was a busy day, did not get my 10,000 steps in but did get a little work out in, logged my food and managed to stay under. Today will also be a busy day but focused on getting my steps in today since I only got in a little over half yesterday. Not beating myself up over it. I…

FOCUS (Follow One Course Until Success)
Good morning. FOCUS is key for my first week back. It seems I get so excited and am all in the first few days and then....I get busy with other things, make excuses to myself and before I know it, I've quit. I cannot let that happen again. 2 things happened just before the New Year that was a major "wake up" call. Tuesday,…

Happy New Year, and working toward a new me!
I have been on and off this program for years. I had great success years ago but had a bad fall hiking and had both my hips replaced in the last couple years. My motivation went way down, everything hurt, put on the weight and I am at that point of realizing I need to get it together quick! I am a 63 year old short Italian…

Post Op appointment
I was dreading the appointment. I was had a case of food poisoning two days prior and wasn't back to my full strength. God is good! I was able to get clearance from the doctor. Hip replacement was a success. Yes, I am still tender but getting stronger each day. Pool work outs have really helped with strength building and…

Gym time today
First time back at the gym in over a week. It really felt good! Got in 20 min. on the elliptical and about 40 minutes of nautilus working on legs and arms. 73 minutes and burned 244 calories!
