I no longer stretch that T-shirt (so it isn't too snug on my belly) before I pull it over. Nor am I afraid to reach over my head and have my tummy show. Let it show...no worries

I've been seeing this a lot too. One of my FB friends is doing no meat, no carbs, no sugar, no fun. She just started Monday and already she's complaining about issues with it. I've talked to her about MFP before, but no luck.
Nobody told me that it would be so hard to sit on the sidelines and watch others be how I used to be. I would never say a thing, but it drives me up the wall hearing all the excuses people have for why they can't lose weight. I know many people have said this on the thread before, but I would have never guessed it would happen to me!
The purpose of this thread is to discuss things that we weren't expecting to come with weight loss. Please let us express this without judgement.
Yes it is. Being judgmental of those who are as overweight as I was is something that I did not expect when I lost weight.21 -
I don't judge other obese/overweight people, but I always wonder if I see someone grocery shopping/eating junk food - is this their cheat day? are they on weight loss? are they counting calories too? or they have given up? do thy even care? maybe they don't see it as a problem?
I think I could talk about health/fitness/weight loss all day long lol

I just thought of s trivial one.....that I would look at a Krispie kreme donought, and think "you are sooooo not worth all those empty calories!"

I find myself oddly interested in other people's groceries on the conveyor belt. Some people exit with salmon, kale salad and a bottle of wine. Others are stocking up on Hot Pockets and Cheetos. Some have both!15 -

Me too! noticed this morning that I wasn't stretching my freshly washed tshirt to make it 'comfy' over my belly. I can wear clothes straight out of the wash and they feel comfy!! love it!
Jeans were the worst. If I was going out that night I would take a nap in them to stretch them out before I went out LOL11 -

When I used to binge regularly and just eat way over what I needed on daily basis, I was ashamed to buy the food. So I would convince myself that if I bought even more junk food, people wouldn't judge me and just think I'm hosting a house party. How messed up that is?! One of my all time greatest achievements so far has been shopping without guilt and being conscious while doing it, so I don't binge anymore.
Still made me ashamed to write this down.

Don't be ashamed I would do this too and I still think this way. My boyfriend is a huge snacker which is fine because he could use the calories and we just bought a *kitten* ton of junk food at walmart earlier today and this crossed my mind. 85lbs down but other people don't know that so it scares me. I really hate the feeling of being judged.12 -

I don't buy bulks of junk food anymore, or cover it with salad and fruit in my basket, but still choose the self check-out if possible. Not sure if I do it to minimize human contact haha or cause I feel it's noone's business what I eat, so not gonna put it on a display for them 5 -

It's funny how food and shame are so interconnected for a lot of us who have been overweight our entire adult lives. Now that I have a lot better relationship to food I don't feel as judged anymore, perhaps because I don't judge myself? Today is my refeed day and I've been craving some doughy sweets, so yesterday in preparation I bought one apple danish and one donut to have at home. Before losing 50lbs I would have been so embarrassed to get it. Yesterday I almost felt proud about it. Let the girl behind the counter wonder how I eat this and stay trim! lol Of course she doesn't see me on my 1,500 cal days...or else they wouldn't be 1,500 cal days

Same, I've lost 50lbs (have around 18left to lose) and I judge myself less, or just feel more deserving of that cookie or crisps, cause I put in the work. Obviously, 80% of my food is healthier, but this just keeps me sane.9 -

I have both lol. I couldn’t be thin and happy without a line of Oreos every couple of weeks. I will suffer an extra 30 mins in the pool that day for them.13 -
How sad you can feel when you have to throw out special clothes because they have become too big.
At the beginning of my journey they were the "I jut want fit into that" or "if ever I could ever fit that again I'd be ecstatic" clothes. Now they fall of my bottom and really look ridiculous. I wanted to shrink into them, now I am finding that I have shrunk out of them again. AsI have maintained for 6 months now, they are out, but it does make me sad22 -
how much i like shopping now that i don't feel so terrible in dressing rooms!!14

Get them altered - much easier to resize clothing to a smaller size than to a bigger size.8
