It's good, but not a patch on the "There's no such thing as bad food" thread. That was epic. I am still mourning its loss.

Agreed- That thread was amazing. I woke up in the morning to read it and saw it was nuked :(

I was attempting to post one last cat gif and failed :'(. I'd noticed another thread had just been zapped, so knew it was imminent.

OMG, I made these this past Saturday. Mine weren't as pretty, but I tried to doll up the picture a bit when I posted them on Instagram. Oh! And I used Nutella instead of chocolate bars. So good.

I, too, am a success story of the gelato cleanse. Worked wonders.

For anyone interested, we are going to be starting a new "Spring Cleanse" in the Gelato/Ice Cream lovers group in the next few days. For 30 days, try to fit in a sweet treat of your choosing, it can be frozen (as long as not Arctic Zero or Frozen Mashed Bananas), store bought (hello Girl Scout Cookie season!), homemade, etc. Post what you are eating, especially if you have food porn pics, and your results at the end of the 30 days! It will beat any lemonade/cayenne cleanse results any day or your money back!

-disclaimer - I am not actually selling any products as part of this Spring Cleanse. It was a joke.

Wait. Is this for real? Are you serious? Because I gotta say, this is the kind of cleanse I could get behind. *L*

Oh we take our gelato cleanses very seriously...

I will create a thread so everyone can have a place to track what they eat every day, but I started with this for anyone interested.

    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/event/990-spring-cleanse-ing-kickoff

I'm not allowed to view this event

Me neither. Apparently the Gelato Cleanse group is too good for outsiders. Join me in my marshmallow peep cleanse. It's informal; no group or fancy thread for tracking. You just shove as many yellow marshmallow peeps into your facehole as possible. Just don't eat the eyes. Never the eyes.

I think I just barfed in my mouth ...

Did you eat the eyes? You were warned not to eat the eyes...

You can do an allergen elimination diets/cleanses to help you figure out food allergens. I've done them with doctor supervision. They work. But they aren't about weight loss.

An elimination diet to determine if one is allergic to a food IS NOT a detox/cleanse.

All this Peep talk (I blame bearded tincanonastring) and no one has posted my preferred Peep approach, which my FIL pioneered AFAIK. Peeps are best enjoyed extremely stale. They come out around Easter = perfect Peep consumption time frame is around July / August. Give the chemikillz time to work their magic before you consume them!

I suggest the lettuce diet. You can eat as much as you want as long as it's lettuce.

Hey, this was in a Garfield comic strip. When Jon asks how Garfield wants his head of lettuce prepared today, Garfield responds, "Deep fry that sucker."

now I wonder what deep fried lettuce might taste like....do we get to batter it first?

PROTIP: You can expedite the stalening by opening a corner of the pack. They get 4-month stale within 2 weeks.

Yup, my dad was a big stale Peep fan, he'd buy them every easter, poke some holes in the cellophane, and hide them in the back of all the cupboards.

Alright, now I'm intrigued. What is the benefit of a stale peep? Is it a texture issue?

Perhaps I will get several different styles of peeps (the classic chicks, the rabbit shaped ones, and a non-traditional shape) and eat some immediately, store some for 2 weeks sealed, and some for 2 weeks unsealed.

For... ummm... science of course. Yeah, science!

I think there is a profitable e-book in here somewhere.

Hi Brian - some people use these words interchangably because they don't know/understand the difference. Thought it was worthwhile to make sure the OP gets the info she needs. This thread has seemed pretty aggressively bullying/making fun of the OP, and I don't think that's ever very helpful. I was a newbie on the boards not so long ago, I'm sure she's just looking for guidance...

    That was bullying apparently.

I've done the experiments myself- for research of course ;)

Stale peeps have a much better texture- to me at least. They are a little more crunchy.

I have to agree with you on our chocolate for the most part. Most our of chocolate is overly sweetened. There is some good stuff, but not as nice as what you get overseas for the most part.

Oh, he definitely pokes holes / opens the container. Still waits months before consuming the delectables.
