The new It diet - the CICO diet - is a model of the old calories in calories out
It has proven popular on Reddit forums in recent weeks, as people eulogise it
FEMAIL spoke to Sydney-based nutritionist and dietitian, Lyndi Cohen, about it
She said that while CICO might work, it also isn't highly safe or sustainable
Ms Cohen said CICO encourages you to become obsessed with numbers

They had a chance to write an article about the science behind CICO but instead report this drivel.

And a dietitian saying your body goes in to starvation mode

This is bad even for it being in the Daily Fail.
I'm with I want to hit her and the editor.3 -
Damn you. You made me give traffic to the Daily Mail! I wanted to laugh at the craziness!2

Where did this dietitian study?
It seen to me, they all know only one thing "veggie, fruit, junk food, bla bla".

The advice to 'fill up on fruits and vegetables' works for some birds, but the 800 lb gorilla* in the room fills up on fruits and vegetables, and weighs 800 lb.
* Gorillas don't actually weigh 800 lb. They're closer to 250 lb and can rip a human to pieces.8 -
... is this... is this a joke? Is it a spoof article like the Onion? Because this can’t be real. The amount of straight up crazy is just... is this a joke?8

Unfortunately no, but it is the Daily Fail, so It's like the onion, but they don't know they're not connected to reality9 -
Weird, the same thing popped up in my feeds this morning from other sites. The Yahoo byline seems to be the first one, but no author is attributed. There's a theme here: the "sudden" popularity on Reddit and the assumption that anyone using CICO is eating mostly junk.

Hey. ...at least now you can write for them...
A few more iq points lost and you can be the editor
Ok the hilarious thing about your post is that I’m actually a professional writer (a novelist) so your post sent a chill of horror down my spine that I can’t even begin to describe! Lol!

The article makes perfect sense. The "nutritionist" has something to sell, so it's basically an ad piece.1

'Daily Mail' and 'Femail'. Two things that are guaranteed to make my blood boil, and that's without even clicking on the link.5

I have so many negative things to say about this article... but i would be banned from the internet if i said them lol
But... as a heads up... be prepared for people to use this fail as proof for their arguments when they want to prove CICO doesn't work for everyone.5 -
From the subheaders:It has proven popular on Reddit forums in recent weeks, as people eulogise it
To eulogise/eulogize (UK vs US spelling conventions, so to be clear, I know that, at least, it's not a typo) does mean to praise, but it refers specifically to the praise one affords a deceased at their funeral. It's like when I was in grade 5 and checked a thesaurus for synonyms for 'murder' (we were supposed to try writing whodunnit mysteries) and found 'immolate' and used it. My murder victim was strangled...
