Thanks for everyone that sent out the alert and/or helped flag them.
My mouse fingers are sore.3 -
I got up late, saw the messages on the spam threads, but only got to zap a tiny few before the rest of them got bit-bucketed. If you have sore mouse fingers, I'll bet a bunch of that - maybe all - was you. Thanks, @robertw486!2

I was running forums in 2004 that had the ability to put a limit on the number of new thread a user could create in a certain time period. I cannot understand why Vanilla doesn't have/utilise this feature.4

Not sure what to do with this one, I'll leave it for staff to look at.

This user has made only 2 posts, but they feature links to an offsite fitness calculator similar to mfp which is against Guidelines. I'm not gonna try to keep up with reporting them one by one.

There are a few of these with different cities named in Food and Nutrition category

Some in other categories, too. All I could find via search are now gone from view, and the ID reported for moderator action.

Odd, not sure.

One possible action on something like that is to use the flag/report option to bring it to moderators' attention. The have investigatory options we as users don't have. It's not obviously spam or abuse, but it's also obviously not normal. If we spam flag it, it disappears, but doesn't necessarily get other attention for follow-up. Flag/report potentially get some further attention. Anyone here can do both to the same post, i.e., flag/report if more attention or follow-up seems needed, then spam flag if it's spammy enough that the post itself should disappear and some other user wants to add to the necessary 5 spam-flag count that triggers the post to disappear.

ID flag/reported, all 4 posts sent to the spam queue. Thanks for pointing out the link behind the exclamation point icon - I wouldn't have realized that one when reading on this device.

How do I flag a profile?
This person imhumongus is dropping rude comments and started a nonsense thread.

Right below the problem post, click Flag. In the pop-up, click Report. On the reporting pop-up, click one of the options in the Reason list. Type a short explanation in the Notes box to say why you think it's a problem, unless it's totally, totally obvious. Click Send Report.
These flagged posts will be reviewed by the volunteer moderators or MFP staff, but because this is an individual review by humans, nothing happens instantly. But they will consider the comment, and act if they consider the complaint valid.
Further info: When you Flag/Report, you won't see a flag count on the post in the thread, as you would you spam/abuse flag. Spam/abuse flags hide a post once there are 5 flags on the post. However, they don't explicitly ask the moderators/staff to take other actions in the way Flag/Report does. Sometimes it makes sense to Flag/Report so the mods look at the total situation, but also flag the individual post as Spam or Abuse after that.
IME, they are more likely to take action than other social media sites are. If it's a regular user being a jerk, but the person's been here quite a while and also have reasonable posts elsewhere, the action may be deleting the post and warning the poster behind the scenes. If it's a totally bad ID, they often delete or disable it. If it's really, really bad, I think they sometimes take further actions, most of which wouldn't be visible to us regular users. But they are good about following up, IME here.
BTW, I flag/reported the two replies by that ID that were present when I first saw one of them. Don't hesitate to do likewise. 🙂

Thanks Ann, I'm a volunteer mod but rather than reporting each post I wanted to flag the profile but wasn't sure I'd it was possible.

Sorry, I didn't realize. I just flag/report one of the profile's posts and add a note asking the profile to be reviewed, then spam or abuse flag post(s) after if needed.

Cheers, I'll do that.
It looks like it's been zapped now too.
