I tattle, but my hours and the spammers have been mostly out of sync for a while now. LOL.1 -

Tried to flag a post as possible ED, dangerous or troll, but there was a long pause and did not show a flag after.

@Adventurista, if you used "Flag" then "Report", as might be logical in a case like this one, that doesn't result in a visible flag on the post, but does send the report to the moderator queue for their review. The "Spam" or "Abuse" options under "Flag" do result in a visible flag on the post.2 -
Ty @AnnPT77 , did not know that. Tried twice then gave up. Didn't mean to double the mods work,0

spamming their eBook.1 -
So...it appears that this user is not able to post in the forums right now, but his username comes up at the end of the thread when he tries, and it bumps up the thread.
I know he was making quite a few posts that were of the "Send me a personal message, are you a girl? Are you single?" type...
Now if you could just somehow stop this error. You'll see if you go to "Recent Posts" that a lot of them are him, but nothing is posted, it just bumps up the thread. Lots of them, this morning.

Not only does he need banning, he needs reporting to law enforcement - he’s been making posts asking if he can meet people’s children.
Could just be a troll, but seems genuinely deranged to me.2 -

That's the 3rd ID this afternoon (that I know of) posting weirdo American Airlines stuff . . . well, one was Expedia I think, but same deal. I flag/report-ed and the first ones disappeared pretty fast. Some volunteer mod(s) must be online.0 -

New spammer peddling illicit drugs all over the boards. Eight posts so far this morning.

Mikecartar's posts, at least all the ones I could find via search, have been spam-flagged straight to the bit bucket (yes - blush - I have been granted a special big spam-flag hammer as spam moderator. Since I can't do other full-moderator stuff, I also flag-reported the ID to the full moderators' queue in case mods/staff want to delete the ID. Betcha they will.
In the mean time, if anyone sees any posts I missed, link them here, and I'll whack them as soon as I see the post.
Thanks!4 -

I'll do another search later and see if more pop up. Even these, I got rid of 7 then there were 2 more.3 -

I flag/reported all 3. IMU they don't quite meet the definition of spam that spam moderators are supposed to send away, but I think they'll probably disappear soon.0 -
Nods, but the links were odd, like to *pi**d consumer....
Also, wondered if a paid type to promote multiple products, but then the text on links it showed when leaving MFP looked dangerous? At least quite odd.0 -

I didn't dig too deeply into the links initially. I saw 2 of the posts early, and they had commercial references but no links. Later the posts were edited, and then the references became links. That's sort of typical behavior recently for people being compensated for posting links, seems like.
I just went back to the posts, and looked at the links. As you say, they all point to (bleeped)consumer.com. A light duty bit of web searching suggests that site claims to be a consumer advocacy site for sharing business reviews, but some other sources claim it's not so pure in its intentions or behavior.
I'd still suspect that whoever posted the links is being compensated for doing so in some way, but that's speculative.2
