From what I understand the Bodpod isn't really that much more accurate than calipers. Dexa, however, would get you very close.

Really? I've always heard they are as accurate as hydrostatic weighing.

I could say what is on my paper for bod pod but of course they are bias.

    Agreed.

Only way to truly test accuracy is to do all three back to back. Bod pod dogs the DEXA scan though lol.

I think the question really should be....are you lifting heavy?

I don't know about the OP but the heaviest thing I lift with any regularity is my bike. From the ground, to the car rack. About 18lbs.

I also have been known to do 12oz and 16oz curls, but each rep the weight gets lighter.

Understand, but if the OPs goal is to see his abs, lifting heavy will do nothing but get him there quicker.

Or just look in the mirror, and say "Damn, I look good" and forget about BF%...lol

What exercises in the gym? Should I cut back on the amount of cardio I do?

In answer to your OP, maybe ~12%...depends on genetics.
Yes, lift heavy....something like StrongLifts 5x5 is a good program
Cardio is up to you, I do light cardio 2x/week myself....

But ultimately it will come down to diet and caloric deficit....for weight loss....
Doing the weights, will help preserve LBM, while burning up the fat.

    Good Luck

Just depends on where you are at in your weight loss. When I started, I didn't care. I just wanted to be smaller. Didn't care how. I have to keep giving myself goals though otherwise I will fall off. Abs were just one of those goals.

if accuracy is how close the tests are to your real BF%, i'm not sure that will really test accuracy... just tests how consistent the results are accross tests... that doesn't tell you how close you are to your actual bf%

Hello I had my body fat percentage measured yesterday with my trainer before my workout, and it came out at 15%. At what point will I be able to see my abs? I still have some flab around my chest. Thanks.
    My stats are as listed:
    19 y/o
    5 ft 7"
    154 lbs
These are my pics at different stages of life. The middle pic is me today.
