great tasting low cal meals?

  • I got one of those spiralizer things and make pasta noodles from zucchini. I've also been eating a lot of portobello mushrooms lately - they're filling and low cal.

You might be addicted to food, see if your healthcare covers food rehab
It's not wrong for people to be different than you. I can't believe MFP allows you to continue being arrogant to people who are here for support.
He suggests portion control and seeking help. how is that arrogance? Seems like supportive advice to me.

Someone says they have suffered from lack of self control, and he suggests food addiction and checking to see if their health insurance covers food rehab? Seriously?! You're right. Sounds like he's very concerned. *smh*

Thank you for all of your support

Sir, that looks like a very very large burger in your picture. I agree that you probably have food addiction issues and you need to seek help for them.

He does sound concerned. He could have told him that food addiction isn't real and that he needs to grow up and be an adult. Instead he suggested seeking help. How is that arrogant?

Please... I had two friends just last week deactivate their accounts because of the ugly comments and messages that were sent to them from this person.

Really? Acg harassed your friends to the point of deactivating? Two in one week? If that was honestly the case then he would have been banned from this site long ago. He doesn't hold hands or sugar coat, but he's not the type to stalk and harass.

You're welcome to make a joke of it, but it's actually very unfortunate. Whether or not you believe it, it doesn't change how true it is.

I don't believe it. I have known him since I started. He posts tons of actual research and people get upset because it challenges what they believe. That feels like a personal attack. It's not, they're just wrong.

Or they plagiarized as I have just learned. That's actually worse than being misinformed. I'd be pissed if someone started posting my blogs or recipes as their own.

Y'all are derailing OP's thread. Don't have a "low cal" recipe? Move on! Want to personally go at each other? Move it on!

In regards to ACG's comment, the OP did say she's a light eater and wanted something delicious and flavorful. I can only assume by mentioning that any recipe can be made low cal by adjusting the portion size that he, was in fact, not being facetious.

Anyways, OP. I suggest you check out Allrecipes.com. They have a ton of great recipes and I'm always trying something new from there! I especially like the fact that you can select items you have on hand and find recipes accordingly.

    Good luck!

Quit being a jerk. Man, I'm sick of some people on this site. They need to bring the ignore function back so we can weed out the imbeciles. And then of course they call their buddies in to gang up on everyone. Pretty obvious that Acg either has multiple accounts or called two of his friends in to back him up.

Look at my dinner in my diary last night. 244 calories and huge. I put chipotle hot sauce on it for taste, 0 calories.

Yes, name calling certainly puts you on the high ground here. I do wonder do you cll everyone on this site that suggests getting help for sugar addiction, eating disorders etc jerks and imbeciles?

Right I have billions of accounts and also called in people to back me up since I in no way am adept at backing myself up. Perhaps before making such idiotic claims you should do a little research. Even just reading back through this thread I made 2 helpful responses before being attacked by a known ip infringer, who gets upset when called on it.

Really, how does it help anyone to eat a cup of mac and cheese for 500 calories only to be hungry one hour later? I'll never understand the 'eat what you want in moderation' thing - it just doesn't work for everything.

OP, you can just google whatever you want to eat and put 'healthy' in front of it, typically you'll end up on sites like Eating Well that have pretty good recipes too. I also love Skinnytaste.

Perhaps if that cup of Mac n cheese satisfies a a craving and prevents a binge later? There are psychological justifications for flexible dieting, if you don't understand them, then maybe do some more research

Yes, fantastic advice, creating a dichotomy of foods of 'healthy' and 'unhealthy' ones, and the OP spefically asked for low cal meals, healthy =/= low cal

Yeah well that's how the general public and most websites describe their lower calorie meals, I'm not the one who decided on the terminology there. I'm just giving advice. It doesn't mean I agree with that use of the 'healthy' word, just that it's what you have to use in your search to find lower calorie options.

And by the way, I'm totally into flexible eating and I fit what I want in my calories. I'm just saying that more often that not, it's not sensible *for me* to just have a little bit of a higher calorie meal, because it will leave me hungry, so just telling people to eat what they want in smaller quantities is not always the best advice either.

I see both sides of this. I get why people are arguing with you, but I also would not eat a cup of mac and cheese as a "low cal" meal, because it's too many calories and not filling enough. We all have different bodies and different goals. I do believe in the moderation aspect, but moderation is not the same for everyone.

It's not the info in your posts that makes you a jerk, it's the manner in which you present it. There's a distinction. And I didn't really resort to name calling...just calling it as I see it. Like it or not, your behavior here is jerk like. That's a fact. If someone makes a comment in regards to sugar addiction or eating disorders in a reasonable tone that's one thing. But no one wants to listen to someone giving such comments in a snarky, demeaning tone. It comes off as an insult and negates any sound advice you might be trying to give. And it's VERY, very obvious you called in the cavalry to back up your posts. You can't deny it. I mean you can, but it would be pretty obvious that you're not being honest. Anyway, I'm not going to spend my day arguing over this. Have a good one...

Ah i see, had you had the where with all to do a little research as suggested, you might have found that both comments are clearly in jest as there is scant evidence of food addiction, something the poster i responded to and myself know. But hey it'd be silly if i actually expected you to be informed before calling it as you see it, as you clearly had no context, thus your statement was idiotic

Oh you edited your statement, again you have no context to say I clearly did anything. If you want to call me a liar in no uncertain terms, again it just shows your lack of knowledge and intelligence to resort to things vs actual bringing facts to the table.
