Don't add me if you need "motivation"

Add me if you want to discuss macros, combining lifting/running programs or muscle preservation during a diet.

Don't add me if you like to use the word "sabotage" or need a cheerleader.

Add me if you understand that losing/gaining weight requires nothing more than knowing how to count and your purpose here is to improve athletic performance and body composition.

I won't make or break your results, your own self discipline will decide that.

    haha nice pic!

Hopefully those teeth will scare away those who came to MFP looking for cheerleaders instead of intellectual discussion.

Happy New Year everyone! Any more self motivated people who would like to be friends?

Lets have intellectual discussion on how to improve athletic performance.

Sorry you feel that way. I just prefer to focus on things that actually matter instead of holding hands, validating excuses and being a cheerleader.

Not everyone thinks I am mean. I just received several more friend requests from self motivated fitness enthusiasts in the last few minutes!

So the two are mutually exclusive? My friends are both. I don't need a*spats, but I'll graciously accept a "well done" after a particularly hard work out, or random encouragement posted on my wall. There's nothing wrong with that. I *like* having friends that are invested in my success. I don't need them, but it's a bonus for me. We also have plenty of good, stimulating conversation about health and fitness and food.

Being a cheerleader does not mean being an enabler. Encouraging your friends to meet their goals and stick with their plan doesn't signal weakness.

Awww MAN! So NOW who am I supposed to blame when I'm not sufficiently motivated?

    *deactivates account - blames you*

I think this thread is motivating (ironic I know) the group of people who like excuses to post angry dogs pics and call me mean.

Others seem to like the idea of MFP being used for more than finding a chearleader and learning how to count. I have received quite a few friend requests as the result of this thread.
